    • She may yet appear with somebody else.
    • The thing is last summer when she was appeared it was with a co-presenter so I wonder why they suddenly decided to put her solo when they don't do so with way more established radio DJs.  Though 2 of the 3 DJs she was paired with last summer are no longer with Radio 1 after this week.
    • After a few weeks of prep, I'm excited to announce that on the 12th September you'll have the chance to relive a day in the life of Radio 1, 19 years to the day of its broadcast in 2007. The whole thing will go up on mixcloud, in time with the original broadcasts. There will be individual uploads and extended versions consisting of several shows running back-to-back. There will also be a playlist featuring all the shows in order. An entire 24 hour run of programming, from midnight to midnight, including: 00:00 - Bobby Friction & Nihal 02:00 - Ras Kwame 04:00 - Radio 1 Podcasts: Nothing New with Colin Murray 04:30 - JK & Joel 07:00 - The Chris Moyles Show 10:00 - Jo Whiley 13:00 - Sara Cox in for Edith Bowman 16:00 - Scott Mills 19:00 - Zane Lowe 21:00 - In Live Music We Trust with Jo Whiley 22:00 - Nihal in for Colin Murray   Highlights of the day include James Blunt in the Live Lounge with Jo, Reverend and the Makers in session with Zane and live highlights from the BBC Introducing Stage at Bestival 2007. Bonus points if you can spot the cameo from a future Radio 2 presenter as well...   Everything will be happening here:
    • W/C 28th September Gary Davies is on drive Monday to Wednesday, then Eliie Taylor is hosting Thursday 1st October and Friday 2nd October. Clara sits in for Trevor on Wednesday 30th September to Friday 2nd October (Spoony sits in as usual on Mon/Tuesday that week) Shaun Keaveny in for Cerys Matthews on the Blues Show on Monday 28th September
    • Tbf they’re letting GK Barry present solo 😂
    • Whilst I understand it may be ‘cheaper’ or offers more ‘entertainment value’, I still think it’s OTT. Alright, have one or two but EVERY day time show with the exception of Breakfast is a duo. Come on?! Whilst Capital is commercial, it does say something that none of their daytime shows are duos except for Breakfast. I don’t think a duo makes it less likely to switch to Spotify. Radio is a personal medium. It’s about a one-on-one relationship with the presenter and listener. That’s what makes radio so special. That’s what drove Greg James love of radio I imagine. Also, Matt and Mollie & Sam and Dannii work because they’re ‘real’ friends. There is established chemistry. Whilst than can grow of course separately Radio 1 likes to pair presenters up who just don’t gel together. One catastrophic example of that was Dean and Vicky. And, poor Vicky. Just let her present a show individually! Aled has made a number of changes, too many to be quite honest and I don’t like the direction he has taken Radio 1. I shall be NOT be listening to a social media influencer with limited experience and who cannot be even trusted to be let loose on live radio ruin my Thursday afternoons. Another absolutely bonkers decision. Aled, you’ve driven me to the unthinkable! I shall be switching to Spotify on Thursday afternoons!
