I really like it! A nice refresh, the logo is good too!

I wasn’t really a big fan of the Alt version of Scotts last package that they did for Jack (apart from the Drone and the Number 1 Ramp).

I hope the 8 different cuts get some airtime!

Everyone was requesting power intros and being played the new versions which have only been in use for a couple of weeks.

Who's old enough to remember the days of the 1tros? First introduced November 2007, used extensively throughout 2008 and 2009, phased out by mid 2010. They were truly amazing

These 1tros were just the best - Radio 1 really needs to bring back this sonic logo for its station sound

Sorry! I don't really check here often - but yes i agree! I think Radio 1 back then was perfect and was amazing. I really am tempted to start a new channel filled with random BBC Radio 1/Radio 2 shows I have archived from 2007-2018! Full shows, one place ? what a dream!

Maybe it was just late-00's and early-10's culture then that made it even better, but I swear the music they played back then too were WAY nicer and more varied!

Thank you so much for the love on 4t8 :)❤️

Noticed recently there is a little bit of a station identity being used at the tops of hours Sort of like capital use

Is that the 'Tell your smartspeaker to play Radio 1' ones. They're not great, but certainly better than the ones they made 5 years ago!

Maybe I missed something but what's being done differently from how they've done this for quite some years? They had the 'coming up' every hour for a while, it's now more the smart-speaker stuff but definitely TOTH idents for as long as I can remember...

    • I'd very much like it to be him too. Would be the most logical option, As far as guest/celebrity stand ins go, I like mind Ellie Taylor... she's definitely one of the better stand ins. I can't see them getting her to cover the slot in the interim period if she is to become the full time presenter in September though. She's doing the following 3 weeks of Saturday lunchtimes. I wonder if she's Emma's replacement during Strictly season?
    • I'm liking what I've heard so far. She was brilliant on tea time and whenever she covered Scott too. Glad she's brought some her jingles/songs with her, but shortened/updated them for brekky.  PS was she as silly and bonkers when she was on R1 as she is on R2? I don't really remember much of her old shows on R1, although I do remember listening to her covering for Fearne.
    • There's already a scheduled livestream on the R1 YouTube channel 😁
    • I hope it's OJ but I am liking Ellie Taylor at the moment.
    • There's also Feedback on R4, the radio version of Points of View: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006slnx I like the blurb for this random episode I've just clicked on from 2012, "Does Radio 1 have too many celebrity presenters? Are they too old?" 😂 https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01jxw4s
    • I have no clue why you thought a complaint and FOI request would go anywhere?! And I maintain what I've written elsewhere, that the 'Jamie problem' is one that exists mainly on forums and isn't felt by the wider listener group!
    • Could be Rickie and Melvin?
    • A couple of months on and still no announcement on who is taking over teatime. We know they're rotating 'interim' hosts throughout the summer, so presumably any permanent host will be taking over at the start of September at the earliest. I'm starting to wonder if it's not OJ Borg after all. There could've been delay in the logistics of him agreeing to a London based show, or production moving up to Salford, but surely they would have announced him by now? That said, I'm surprised he's been nowhere near teatime since Sara finished. Radio 2 rarely go for outsiders when it comes to their main weekday slots, they usually promote from within so will be interesting to see who they go with? I'd be surprised if they parachute in someone that hasn't broadcast on Radio 2 before.
    • Freedom of Information request – OOS2026/01183 Thank you for your email of 22nd June. The BBC is replying under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“FOI Act”). You asked: I am asking with regards to Jamie Laings contract to present the Going Home Show on BBC Radio 1. Going Home is titled as Going Home with Vick Hope. Katie Thistleton and Jamie Laing and is meant to be on Monday-Thursday 3.30pm-5.45pm on BBC Radio 1 1. Please can you confirm does Jamie have a contract to be a presenter Monday- Thursday or is he paid a fee per show. 2. Has he had his contract adjusted in the number of shows he is expected to present and/or value of his contract in the last year? 3. Do the presenters who fill in for Jamie/Vick Hope get paid the same rate as them or is that rate different? We have carefully considered your request and concluded that it is clear from your description of the information you are seeking that if the BBC held information of the kind you have asked for, it would all be held for the purposes of journalism, art or literature. The FOI Act does not apply to information held by the BBC for any of those purposes. This is explained in an information sheet enclosed with this letter. To be clear, in this case we have not searched for any information since any that we found would be non-disclosable, and the searches would not serve any useful purpose
    • It's just Rickie & Melvin today.
    • A message has just been played saying: 'Ready for a game? Tomorrow morning at 8' or along those lines.
    • Nat & Vicky have just said it's Ore & Swarzy next instead of Danni & Ore.   Edit: They've just corrected themselves, it is Danni & Ore.
    • Regardless of their routine, it's incredible how they all ended up parents in a short space of time of becoming a trio. Quite the baby boom at Radio 1!
