Scott,

Quite simply. Thank you.

I found your show by accident some years ago- I had a cheap phone which had a radio app. I flicked around trying to find a station- somehow it landed on Radio 1. You were on drivetime back then.

You’ve been a huge part of my life. Yourself and Chris are one of the biggest reasons why I love radio.

Scott, Chris. Thank You. The amount of laughs I’ve shared with both of you over the years has kept me laughing on the great days and picked me up on the bad ones. You are one of the main reasons why I love Radio and for that I will always be grateful to you. You and Chris Moyles will always for me be the true kings of Radio 1. All the best in your future endeavours; and for the final time,

love you bye!

Scott and Chris.

Thank you both for entertaining the nation. I first discovered the show during Moyles’ 52 hour Comic Relief show, which introduced me to the legendary Innuendo Bingo, a feature I have loved ever since, especially the late night edition on the first Lolathon in 2017, an absolutely hilarious piece of radio which I listen back to fondly.

You have both been there when I was at my lowest, cheering me up and making me feel part of something very special, for which I feel immensely grateful.

It will be such a shame to see you both move on to pastures new but I wish you the best of luck.

Love you bye.

Hi Scott and Chris,

Where to begin? I first started listening to you in 2018/19 as I was starting my GCSEs. I used to come home and first thing I would do is switch on the podcast. I found this really helpful for times when I was very stressed. Your humour and laughter made my day so much better.

Shortly after I went to college, and then we had the lockdown. My mental health down spiralled. I was in a very very bad place but I would always regain myself after hearing you for 4 hours a day. What an amazing 4 hours it used to be. I loved it when you covered Radio 1 Breakfast, again the humour and fun was amazing.

Fast forward to now where I am now full time employed. When I can, I switch you on while I am working, and if I can I put you on in the main room so everyone can hear your contagious fun and games.

While I am sad it is ending, I am also overjoyed that you both are moving onto amazing opportunities. I really hope that one day we get re-united (Radio 1 breakfast perhaps ?).

For now, good luck and Godspeed.

Best Wishes,
James

Scott & Chris, (read in PR4L voice, please)

40 of those! which is always how to start anything, I’ve learnt.

Scott, you were on R1 on my coca-cola-can replica radio, now you & Chris are part of my every day life, including Saturdays on 5Live which I love! Can’t tell you how much you’ll be missed together on air. You two being such good friends make us listeners feel part of your circle. Thank you for your company, best of luck with your new ventures, and for old times’ sake, go on pigs.

Love you bye,  Kath in Cardiff

Just want to thank you Scott and Chris. Your show has been brilliant over the years and has meant so much to me, I've had days when I've felt pretty low.... But you have felt like a group of friends who I can count on to cheer me up. I'm sure many others will echo how your genuine friendship comes across on air, and how genuinely nice you both come across. I like routine, and listening to Radio 1 and your show has been part of my day for years, so I'm really sad that you're leaving ?I'll be making the switch to Radio 2 in the afternoons in the Autumn though.

Good luck lads and all the best to both of you at Radio 2 and Global.

-Nathan.

Dear Scott & Chris

You are such legends, I started listening way back when Scott was on drivetime about 2005/6. I remmber how gutted I was when they announced you were moving to 1-4 and feeling that may have been the start of the end, but no Moyles went, Grimmy came and went, and you have been there, the constant in my mid 20s right to now when I am the wrong side of 42.

I am sure you'll both agree that one of the best things that happened was you never got breakfast, always the bridesmaid, but always there.. and helped your longevity.

I have loved your show, the lols, and the features and really inspired me to get into radio. I always wondered "how do they do that, and what is that noise between the songs" etc etc, fast forward ten years I walked in to my local community radio station and said "I love Scott Mills, I want to do what he does" and they showed me the ropes and before I knew it I was presenting my own drivetime show.

I have moved stations now and am on one of the biggest commnity stations in Sussex, weekday evenings, also covering weekday daytime slots, I have learnt so much, segue editing, sweepers, voice tracking, and how to hook listeners, talking upto the vocal and how much to dip the fader! and what a good bed sounds like.

I now present both live and Voicetracked shows and I have you to thank for that!. Totally in awe of dance anthems I kitted myself out at Home specially as Covid hit and now have a syndicated (networked) three hour dance show based on Dance Anthems (mine is called Dance Party Weekly) that is on about 65 stations worldwide, and a show called "Ready For The Weekned" totally inspired by your old Ready For The Weekend show on a Friday which later became Dance Anthems under Greg then you got it back in 2018! Ready For The Weekend is one hour and is on about 25 stations.

I adore producing both these shows weekly and take much pride in them, and always remember the words from the sunset podcast "you are only as good as your last show" I treat every one as the last, and go for it every time, the result is that I am well respected on the CR circuit for producing a tight, good sounding, consistent format, and I only learnt all about that from you, watching loads of interviews on youtube, and on the 52 hour Moyles show (yes still watch that a lot) so I owe you a big glass of vino yassss

I'll be keen to hear you on R2 and will move over with you and cannot wait to hear you on there, not so keen on capital breakfast but Chris I will give you a listen.

Best of luck in your new ventures.... love you bye.. x

Scott & Chris - good luck for the future!!!

I'm heartbroken I won’t have you both together to listen to anymore. You’ve got me through many dull days of housework, long car journeys and days at work. But all good things must end and I hope there’s a way we can still keep up with all your cheeky banter!

Go on pigs!!!!!!!

Love you bye! Jenni x

So many great moments over the years and memorable moments I'll listen back to for years to come. From Chappers "chopper" and Laura to Chris. A really great show and it will be missed. Best of luck for the future, radio 1's loss is really radio 2's gain.

All the best

You guys were there the year I was made redundant, through deaths in the family and while I was having to deal with the most toxic job ever - just to survive. You have played a major part in helping keep my mental health on track, even when the darkest of thoughts were in my mind, your show kept me going. Best of luck with all you do.

Love you, bye (for now).

I can’t believe that I have been listening to the Scott Mills show for 24 years! The show has always been engaging and entertaining, with many many innovative show-features - Innuendo Bingo,‘What’s Occurring’, James the PI, Barry-oke, and Flirt Divert (being my favourite of them all!). This constant flipping of show. Innovation has kept me listening for so long - I am now 60 years old!

There’s a long list of contributors who have made the show what it is. My ‘peak enjoyment’ phase of the show was the Scott, Laura and Chappers’ season - radio perfection.

Scott, may you do another 24 years on Radio 2, and continue your radio-innovation. Chris, it’s sad that your BBC career is now on pause - and it’s a pity the Saturday morning Radio 5 show can’t continue with you both being the hosts…remember, one door closes, another.

All the best

TW

Hi Scott, hi Chris!

Congratulations on a legendary run - and thank you for your companionship over the years.

I discovered your show through your podcast back in 2006, and have been a daily subscriber/listener ever since.

I was 14, I'm now 30 - and you've been there through all of those life changes.

Best of luck to the both of you. While the future is exciting, this is still an emotional moment.

James in Vancouver, Canada
