  1. Putting the music to one side, because I really am starting to feel like I'm ageing out of R1's playlist now... either that or it's just all a bit melancholic for my taste at the moment. Greg is sounding fantastic and I would love to see him stay where he is for a while yet, Scott managed to stay sounding fresh at R1 until he was a few years older so no reason for Greg to move on because of age I don't think. RMC mid mornings, is a show I have never really got on board with. I don't find them engaging sadly, even when the live lounge is going on. It feels a bit lost in chaos (not good chaos) and I really loved Katie in that timeslot when she was solo (possibly covering for Clara? I can't remember exactly). Katie can do both funny solo content, and genuine interest when it comes to Live Lounge stuff, so I would love to see her in this slot. Matt and Mollie are great where they are I think. The Breakfast Show for students, as Scott used to put it. Would love to see them stay where they are and hopefully be main cover for Breakfast because they are one of the slickest sounding pairs - and have a genuine friendship outside of work which they bring to the air. Going Home in general, for me hasn't felt stable since before Vick and Jordan. Grimmy was the last one who was a constant voice in that slot. It was a running joke when Vick and Jordan started that one of them wouldn't be there at least one day of the week. It's only become worse since Jordan left, and while that doesn't matter to me personally as I have become accustomed to just not knowing who is going to be there at that time - I am usually still working then, and for people who have more of a routine around that time, a consistent voice would be more suited. Like you have at other times of the day. If we kept Greg on Breakfast, put Katie on the mid-morning slot (and Vick I guess would fit there), keep Matt & Mollie on afternoons, Sam & Danni would be perfect for the Going Home slot I think. And that would be a line-up I would happily not change the dial for all day. I appreciate that doesn't leave any space for Emil, who I enjoy listening to when I have heard him, but a permanent weekend slot for him maybe with cover in the week. And it's been so long since I was up early enough to listen to early breakfast that I can't really comment on that slot. Is it too late to bring Scott and Chris back to R1 and have them part of the schedule? Because I miss their show every day even though it's been over 3 years!
  2. This is now firmly set in Tina’s best bits. The whole 2026 segment was very funny, and this made it all the more memorable!
  3. I need to put the kettle on and have a good read through this thread! what pisses me off now about R1 the most is that Scott and Chris are missing ??
  4. Nice bunch of weiners Neil!
  5. Push ‘em along tony!
  6. I'm loving reading through all of these, so many memorable moments. It's hard to put into words just how ingrained in my subconscious some of the things from the show are. Some songs will never be the same again - Scott's vocal coaching sessions with the likes of Rag n Bone Man with Giant, and Jason Derulo with Talk Dirty, my brain always puts Scott's coaching into those when they play the normal versions. And how to sing with vocal coach Felicia - Chandelier and Fairy Tale of New York will always sound like Chris' version of the songs.
  7. How could I possibly forget What Day is Father's Day! "You're 90% there" is something that I say often, in a terrible Australian accent.
  8. Ahh you're right, they could be stand alone features. I'm sure some of them could fit in to his current show. I used to love a round of Rapper or Accountant, and Race Horse or Racey Novel.
  9. Ahh I was so sorry to see Producer Will leave, the show used to get into some hysterical chaos under his watch - notably for me, the day that the whole ‘Margaret Covid’ thing was happening in the news, she show had me in tears of laughter. Everybody got a shout out of their name + Covid as a surname during Bamboleo and Scott & Chris were losing it, brilliant fun day of radio. The Don’t Look it Up Quiz was a really fun feature too, lots of silly rounds that would make for laugh out loud radio.
  10. Haha ‘forty of those’ is definitely one that’s stuck with me too. ‘Who loves Cher’ is a recent one that I can’t get out of my brain. And the Barryoke songs, especially when they brought it back, God is a Woman will always be God is a Barry to me now.
  11. Such a great thread! For me, the Innuendo Bingo clips and the stuff they used to play during the Bamboleo gap, are burned into my brain. If someone mentions a right hand, my brain says ‘is very well exercised’. If someone says ‘but’, my brain says ‘he’s gay’. Such a silly one that’s stuck with me is a remix they did of a clip-up of Charlie Sloth saying ‘Birmingham’ and now I pronounce it the same way and have to sing the song, ‘Birmin-um, do do do do do’. Thanks to the Trapped in the Closet feature, the word ‘spatula’ must always be sung rather than said. And every time I hear Kesha, I wonder who boffed her.
  12. I love Paddy on the weekend! Is this the first time he's covered a weekday show?
  13. It's great to see Chris doing so well after going through this massive life changer. I love how honest he has been in speaking about it, and the message is a really powerful one that will hopefully bring a lot of awareness and I'm sure will help others massively. Hearing him talk about it on the Crouchy podcast was brilliant too - they have a huge audience and it must have been really daunting to put himself in the spotlight on such a sensitive and personal experience. He really is a top bloke, I'm so glad it was caught early and he can spread the word now.
  14. I think Ellie has definitely proven to be been a great fit. The story of her finding a flat and Roger the cat was a real ice breaker for the feel of the show as a whole I think. Add to that Scott giving Ellie his ticket to the Brits and the stories that came from it, I really think she adds value. Not only is the rapport between her and Scott already brilliant, but she also comes across as a funny, down to earth presenter in her own right. I think she's fab and will only continue to get better as the show progresses. I would initially have agreed with the thought that she could be a co-presenter, and I suppose her prominence in the show is such that she could be seen as that, seemlessly. However, for me the show is a bit too guest-heavy for a co-presenter. That's probably just the nature of having such a high-profile show, I think it might feel like too many voices to try to get a fairly short (and sincere) interview in with a huge star. Back in the days of R1 when they could play fun games with the guests then yes, but I get the impression that Scott needs to go for serious and genuine with most of the ones he has had so far. I mostly prefer the bits of radio without guests - that goes for all radio shows, not just Scott's. The 6.30-8am where it's just Scott, Ellie, and Tina, are my favourite bits of the show for sure. Which is a long winded way of me saying that Ellie was a great choice ?
  15. @Opalmoon I couldn't agree with you more. Scott and Chris made genuine magic happen on the radio and I'm starting to think that nothing will ever equal that era. I often listen back to the old podcasts, and I think you've hit the nail on the head when you say they were effortlessly funny together. They could make the most simple of things laugh-out-loud funny, and it must have been because they were real friends who just used to make each other laugh, which in turn made brilliant radio. They have both gone on to do such big things apart, probably more than if they had carried on together at Radio 1, and I'm really pleased for them both. I don't think you're stuck in the mud (if you are then I am too) - a Scott and Chris podcast would be a dream come true. I'm not sure it could even be a thing while they are both working at different stations, but I hope they can make it work one day. With Beccy producing, that would be the icing on the cake! I would love for Scott to be a guest on Chris & Tom Kerridge's podcast, if nothing else. Who knows, maybe one day Chris will find himself back at the BBC on 5Live and we'd have more chance of having them back working together then.
  16. I finally got around to watching the live tour recording online. Very funny watch. For those that were wondering, there was barely a mention of R1, so if anything was said it was either on other nights or edited out of this one. It’s two hours long, so not sure how that compares to the actual live show or how much could/would have been edited. Would definitely recommend it for fans of the podcast though. The guinness joke is included - and I personally don’t think it’s as shocking as they’ve been teasing. But that’s probably the point.
  17. This is so great so far. Scottport, the choir, the new show song! It’s the perfect chaos, and Scott sounds like he’s having fun too, he sounds right at home.
  18. Loved the version of Rock DJ, great choice!
  19. Merry Scott Breakfast Show Day all - the day is finally here! Robbie Williams on the phone! This is a really fun listen so far.
  20. I would never have guessed his last song on Radio 1, and I thought that was spot on. So, whatever the first one is on breakfast I’m guessing it’s going to be fitting. I’m really looking forward to it!
  21. Let me Entertain you is a good shout. I can't really think what he would go for. Maybe Defying Gravity? That's fairly old and has been in the cinema recently. Although maybe not up-beat enough.
  22. Great news for Chappers, really deserved too
  23. Really lovely chat between Scott & Fearne on Happy Place this week, sounds like it may have been recorded before the breakfast announcement was made though
  24. It really is - I wonder if they will do anything special for it All being well in work I should be able to listen live this afternoon
  25. Also can’t believe it’s Scott’s last afternoon show tomorrow. Really going to miss having him on for the rest of this year
