Where would you go?

I love travel and experiencing different places, people, food and cultures.

Which 3 places anywhere in the world would you like to visit before you kick the bucket?

Don't put too many pics, or Jono will tell us off over the bandwidth thingumyjig.

Russia - Trans-Siberian railway journey. You start in Moscow and finish in Vladivostok, some 6,000 miles away on Russia's Pacific coast

Canada - Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver look fabulous. May one day live somewhere in Newfoundland for a few years.

Brazil - Seriously want to experience the Amazon rainforest, whilst some of it remains. Would love to see some of the exotic plants grown in indoor environments here growing in their wild habitat there, like passiflora for example.

I'm so greedy, not sure 3 is enough. Am I allowed to change the rules slightly?

Seeing as I'm already in Peru, I could just double back through Brasil (rainforest and statue of Christ in Rio de Janeiro) - that's No. 1.

Then No. 2 would be a sort of lengthy trip around Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. They are close to one another, I promise.

Still thinking about how I'm gonna cheat on No. 3. ;)

I want to go to London - and I will, I hope to go there as an au-pair after I finish school.

I would also like to go to Australia and New Zealand, because the culture as well as the nature seems to be quite interesting.

Id really love to experience different parts of Africa.

I used to have this plan that id leave school and go to university, and during one of my summers, i spend 4 months in Africa, travelling all over the place. Id love to volunteer over there as a sports coach for young kids.

I hope one day i'll have the guts, and the money, to do it.

I'd like to go to Svarlbard, amazing scenery and so remote and cold. There's a double page photo of it on my floor from the newspaper the other day.

I'd like to go to New Zealand again, the Bay of Islands is so pretty, I remember being 7 years old and paddling out there in a canoe with my mum's friend and his daughter, going to this deserted island just before sunset and collecting Paua shells. The beach was covered with them, they look like this, very pretty. Rotorua is pretty cool too, hot springs, geysers and brightly coloured (but poisonous) lakes and beaches covered in pummice stones. Even though I was only 7, I remember it all really clearly and I'd love to go back, I probably will do when I've finished uni.

I'd like to visit the west coast of Canada. I've probably been reading too many Douglas Coupland books, he's from Vancouver. It sounds really cool, unfortunately though with North America and Australasia, the cities are dispersed and they rely on cars for transport, something I couldn't live with. However, I hope to do something about that for a career. A geography degree is a good excuse to travel!

I've been lucky enough to go to New York and it was great!

My advice, spend 3 days there. Go to the Statue of Liberty and go up The Empire State Building at night. Then you can take photos like this one:

My other 2 choices would be The Pyramids in Egypt and Rio de Janeiro!

    • Moyles spent most of the 52hr sgow calling him that lol
    • I stand guilty as charged as the DS poster.... It was I Okay, so yes Connor has good energy and does the show well, I take it back, however, my last experience of him he spent every other link saying "It's Connor Coates in for the ledge that is Charlie Hedges" and then he started saying "Clem Douglas" - again after critisising that I see she is styled as that sometimes The point I was trying to make was, yes we know it's Charlies show, we know she is a ledge, and we know she is not here today, no need to keep reminding us Regards R1 dance, I suspect Arielle is pointed at the drivetime slot to go against Mistajam unless we know it is breakfast that will be live ? Apologies to Connor and anyone offended by my comments, was just going on my past experience of Mr Coates, who seems to be a very competnt presenter
    • "Grandad Nelson" lolllll 😂
    • I know we have discussed this before, but can someone shed some light hoping @Lily Georgia can help Since the Wogan House closure, and 1-330 from Manchester, studio 82A (Mills) has been used by Scott's R2 show, in fact i note that him and Grandad Nelson are from there now days The question I have is with 1-330 coming from London again soon, who is getting a new studio? will Scott move to one of the newer ones down the corridor or will he remain in 82A and M&M get a new studio They cannot use 82D as that is used for drive, and currenlty 82A is in use by Scott from 2-4pm In the old days it used to be 82A for Greg, Scott, Annie and 82D Adele, RMC, Drive, Jack I note that Jack is in a brand new studio so maybe M&M will come from that one as well, maybe the same one as Vine uses?
    • Maia Beth is doing Friday Early Breakfast on 7th & 14th June.
    • Joel Mitchell is in for Nat on Sunday 9th June.
    • Ore Olukoga is on 13.00-16.00 on Friday 31st May and Friday 7th June.  Nikita Kanda is doing Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June.
    • Very pleased for producer Amy - it's no coincidence many of the best shows in recent years have had her working on them. You can tell her & Helena are a great production duo and that the whole Matt & Mollie team are a really close-knit unit in general. Some lovely speeches by both Matt & Mollie too to end the show on Sunday.
    • Echo what most have said here. Connor has great energy which is important for that sort of slot and the shame for him is that the dance line-up is so strong that there's no obvious 'in' for him to get a regular slot -Danny, Sarah, Pete Tong, Arielle, Charlie Hedges, Jerry and Charlie Tee are all great in their slots. A live show on Radio 1 Dance really feels the obvious way to get a proper foot in the door at Radio 1. Although to be fair to the DS critic I think it was just the one poster and can very much hear Connor in my head saying 'in for the legend that is Charlie Hedges'.
    • James Cusack is in for Jack on Friday 14th June, doing the chart while Jack is at Download.
    • I remember hearing Amy first on Scotts show and she was great on that, the daft quiz questions always made me smile. It's really nice to see the hard work has paid off for them all.
    • Actually the worst tends to be those who comment on Radio Today news stories. People who haven’t listened to younger oriented radio stations in years who say things like “who?” about any job going to any presenter aged younger than 50.
    • Ahhh very happy for Amy - that’s very well deserved! I didn’t hear their final show but are Matt and Mollie keeping Helena? Hopefully she might be the main producer of their new show!
    • I bet Amy and Greg are going to be fun together
    • Ah that's great for Amy. Yes I assumed she would be going back to afternoons!
