    Election 2010

Although I'm not a big labour supporter, I do feel sorry for Gordon Brown and respect him. To me he is a proper politician, substance over style, and that is how I believe politics should be done. When he does inevitably leave Downing Street I was hoping that he would be remembered to be somebody who'd stuck to his beliefs and morals. Unfortunately though, today will destroy him.

    Help! Politics! :O

Wikipedia could be the answer to your problem. To make things even easier: The Conservative Party The Labour Party The Liberal Democrats You can probably get some more information from those three sites (e.g brief history / what they stand for). That, combined with their key policies from the BBC site, should easily give you four lines each. You could also write a bit about the smaller parties, The Green Party, UKIP etc. Although it's probably for the best that you don't mention the BNP! As far as I'm aware neither the Greens or UKIP hold a seat in the House of Commons.

    Election 2010

My summary so far, Nick Clegg is certainly winning the personality battle. But from reading the three main parties manifestos and not paying too much attention to the polls or what the media wants to tell me, Conservatives are slightly leading my vote closely followed by the Lib Dems. I'm slightly disappointed by the debates. Ok, they're a good start but I wish that they allowed interaction between the public and the leaders like the Question Time format. Without the publics input, they do look very scripted. Still, I think that on May 7th there will be a hung parliament. Despite not being a Labour supporter, I have a lot of respect for Gordon Brown. He seems to be the most honest man out of the three leaders who's more interested in policy than publicity. To me, that's what politics should be.

No! I didn't even know there was reviews on their site...

    Spotify Mobile

I listen to a lot of music through my iPhone so Spotify never really appealed to me until the App came out. I've had the App since Sunday and I am chuffed to bits with it! You can download your playlists onto your iPhone and the quality is great. For my £10 I have downloaded so many albums and am listening to so much more new music. Spotify is saving me a fortune!
  9. I would of owned up for the thousands of pounds The Sun probably paid her to tell her story.
  10. I didn't realise that Scott is in Caversham this weekend! If I was feeling really stalker-ish, I could walk down to the river and go find him.
  11. Woo I've finally managed to get a team together for Fantasy Footy! What's the code?
  12. I'm glad that Chelsea aren't jumping on the bandwagon this year and spending silly amounts on players. Zhirkov is a great by in my opinion, he'll give some good competition to Cashley and Malouda! Although now I think that Chelsea are weakest on their right side. We only have Joe Cole and Kalou as senior players and with the ACON this year I think another Stephane Sessegnon would be a good buy. Either that or give Stoch and Sinclair a chance for once! I know that Chelsea are after a "Marquee signing" (although I don't understand why really). It it's anyone, then I would go for Aguero. Despite this I think that it'll be Ibrahimovic in a swap deal with Carvalho and Deco (plus cash). P.S. E*F*4L, I would like to join the fantasy league but right now I'm struggling to put an in-budget team together!
  13. I've loving Royksopp's new album right now.
  14. I love rubbish jokes: What's green, furry and if it fell from a tree would kill you? Polar bear walks into a bar. He says to the barman "I'll have a dry Martini........................................................ on the rocks". The Barman says "Why the big pause?". The Polar bear replies "I don't know, I've always had them." What do you call a midget clairvoyant who has just escaped from prison? and my personal favourite: What's white and can't climb trees? A sick one now! What's the best thing about sleeping with twenty one year olds? Another joke told by the late Clement Freud (contains expletives!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfK0jUycNR0
  15. I work for BT (Or Openreach, as it's now known as) as a Planning Officer. Basically, I tell the men in the vans what to do and where to go. I also study a part time degree in Business Management. In the future I hope to use this to learn accounting!
  16. No, but I'm seeing them at Reading Festival this year. Can't wait!
  17. I'm loving Happy Up Here by Royksopp right now.

    Twitter

I just realised that I've accidentally been blocking people on Twitter who are actually UM members! If I've blocked any of you, I do apologise! I've been blocking people I didn't know, but all UM members are welcome!!!

    Twitter

So I have finally given in to the hype and signed up to Twitter. I have no idea what I'm doing, but if anyone is interested: www.twitter.com/HuttonUK
  20. I have the same cynical attitude like any other single person, that Valentines day is just a waste of time and a patronising kick in the teeth for any singletons out there. So my fellow singletons, let's raise our glasses for international "your single and rubbish" day! Hurrah!

    Twitter

Ok so judging by that, fairly pointless then. I'll stick to Facebook.

    Twitter

Ok people, dumb question alert! What is Twitter? What does it do? What's the difference between Twitter and Facebook?
  23. I would see if anybody I knew wanted it and then given it to them.
  24. I don't entirely agree with what you're saying here. I'm 19 and don't go to university, but study for a degree part time in the evenings. I work full time for a Telecommunications company in their planning team. My job means that I meet and speak to new people all the time, from colleagues in different areas of the business to customers. I have learnt how to interact with a colleague as well as a customer and I have also learnt what is expected from somebody in a business and the best practices to use when in a business environment. I have certainly learnt how to fend for myself (such as when people criticise the work you do). Behezlebub, I can understand that going to university can "give you that little bit of an edge" when applying for jobs, but in three years time I will have six years of work experience in a business as well as a degree. I feel that this will keep me on par with, or give me the edge over, the average university student when applying for jobs. I'm not saying that University is a bad thing here. I think that University is worthwhile if you know where you want to go once you have got your degree and/or you have a genuine interest in the subject. If you are going to University just for the sake of going to University, as in you go because "that's just what 18 - 21-year-old people do" then I think that you are wasting your time and money. I don't think that going to Uni is something that you must do to stand a chance in life. There are other ways you can gain a successful education and a successful career without going to University full time such as apprenticeships and I wish that this would be advertised more often in schools / colleges.
  25. Luce? Lucy? That's all I can suggest really, sorry! I hate my full name too for the same reason. I'm actually Christopher, but I can't stand my full name. It makes me sound like a Lord! I don't use it at all now. To work colleagues and my family I'm known as Chris. To my friends though, I'm known as Hutton (being that it's my surname) or Huttsey. Huttsey came from my computer username at school, x00bhuttc. The "huttc" part sounds like Huttsey, so it stuck.
