With him getting more work at Five Live and ESPN as well as other tv work and writing a book and taking increased time off the show, how long before Chappers will want to move on from radio1 and concentrate on sport journalism?

I hope it won't happen, but if I were him I'd probably choose to be known as a sports presenter in my own right rather than a sport's reader on radio1.

i agree. i hope he does stay because when they are split up they are funny but when all 3 are there its so much better. also with the musical stuff. he wasnt invilved what so ever. he was only in edinborough for 1 day! i always thought he would stay but im beginning to think he may go soon. i hope not.

Does anyone know if they are going to make the musical downloadable as 1 whole show instead of 6 parts? just because its annoying having to load up the next clip. Jono will know surely?

I worry that if he leaves, anyone who joins the team afterwards will seem like a subpar replacement.

However, it may also be a chance to evolve the show, try and take it in a new direction with a new dynamic - although he would be sorely missed.

...but it's not as if he's on the way out, this is all hypothetical stuff in the future.

Honestly, I've thought this for a while - I can't see him staying for too much longer past this year. I think the show needs a sports journalist who is actually there a lot. The straight-man role is needed for the show and it suffers when he isn't there.

Just get rid of him already, let him do what he wants to do with ESPN and 5 Live, and bring on someone new to take his spot.

I think everybody should think back to when Laura left and Beccy started on the show.

Even though at first many forumers were saying that Beccy was a pale 'imitation' of Laura and could never fill her shoes, she has turned out to be really quite different from Laura yet completely amarrzin in her own right.

It was really sad and, I guess, difficult for some to adjust when Laura left, but imagine now if Beccy left - it would be just as bad!

Of course it would be a shame if Chappers moved on, but nothing lasts forever, and nobody should assume that an equally effective dynamic could not be achieved with somebody different.

You can make them all one file using Windows Movie Maker. Burnt to a DVD takes a while - 4 gig

I do feel Chappers is underused as a 'sidekick' This might be part of the reason he's so grumpy all the time.

He is great on the show, but it would be unrealistic to think he's going to hang around forever.

Whenever he does decide to leave; not that anyone knows he is planning to do so in the forseeable future, this is all conjecture, I hope they get another person in.

I believe the show works best with Scott and two others (who speak).

I think chappers will see out the year, even if he does become les and less involved.

The chris moyles team only has a year contract and there will be big name changes then i believe. If scott moves to breakfast, chappers wont follow him and unless dave stays at the station without moyles (unlikley) and they get their own weekend show I cant see Chappers staying.

Chappers is not really getting more work at 5 Live he has present 3 Five Live Sports this year and won't be getting a regular role as they have just had a presenter shake up. He only covered Colin show yesterday due to the fact the guys who usally stand in were not avalible.

When Chappers does leave I would love them to get Geroge Riley from 5 Live he would be the perfect replacement

Anyways, yeah, it would be really sad to see Chappers leave, if he does that is, but do you think they would replace him with another sports journo, is that really a role they need permanently on the show. Is he their specialist expert, in the same way Edith gets James King from time to time? What exactly is the role of Chappers if it isnt Chappers? They probably dont need another AP with TOWDS and Beccy around..
