What rocks in your life?

Awww. Good luck to your geek. Meeting the 'in-laws' can be pretty stressful. My geek is gonna have to deal with that in Sept, poor thing.

What rocks is playing with kittens; ARTY Dootie and See Three PIA. They're all types of gorgeousness. Ha!

What rocks in my life is my new Dyson arrived this morning.......yeah I am actually serious, I've been hoovering like a looney all day!

Do you want to come round here? The only carpet in the house is on the stairs but I think it's only actually been cleaned once in the past year. What rocks is that my cleaning responsibilities are pretty much sorted. Also I am graduating tomorrow which must be good in some way. The graduation ceremony is being shown online and will be watchable again in the style of iPlayer  just hoping I don't trip up on stage! My housemate said he'll buy a DVD of it if I do something stupid.

Also I applied for an internship which doesn't pay but pays expenses for next month and I'm having a telephone interview next week. I've just got to try to sound confident on the telephone.

Just got in from an afternoon in the pub with the old 6th Form lot for a catch up! I've got a fair bit planned for the weekend too, tomorrow my family and some family over the road from me are having a Slumdog Millionaire night - the film, curries etc, and then Sunday me, my family and some family friends are off to Harry Potter and then probably Pizza Hut afterwards \o/.

Those of you who are regular readers of this forum may know that my relationship with my parents is less than perfect. However, in the last couple of days, I feel that they've actually been really good to me and things have gone well.

Yesterday, I donned the oversize black bat outfit, coloured hood thing and silly hat that wouldn't stay on my head and got up on stage and collected my degree certificate from a man in a very silly hat. It feels strange to be a graduate. Helpfully, it rained all day. I'll post a photo of me in the silly get-up when I get them off my dad's camera.

Last night we went out. I managed to drink a lot more than I realised somehow and did some silly things but it was good fun. I didn't sleep much and this morning I felt terrible when my parents turned up to take my stuff home. They didn't seem too bothered that I was very hungover and helped me to pack all the remaining junk and also did some house cleaning for us. It's nice that they took some time off being introspective and worrying only about themselves and actually helped me out as proper parents. For those of you who don't know the situation, my mother is acting increasingly like a stroppy toddler and makes her health issues everyone else's problems. Normally I feel more like I'm parenting them

I'm in Sweden! Right now it's Stockholm, tomorrow we're moving on to the next place where we'll stay for one night. After that we're going to Norway, yay!

My feet hurt from walking about in Stockholm, but otherwise I'm fine, and the weather isn't too bad. Just a bit windy...

I'm in newbury! :D

Got here on friday, was a pretty uneventful journey tbh, apart from when i got on the train i went to get some breakfast from the shop, and on the way back the train tilted around on of the corners and i nearly spilt a cup of boiling hot tea over this bloke... my bad. I got to Newbury about 1pm in the middle of torrential rain :/

Went out on Friday. I wish i could write more about it but i don't really know what happened after i went to the club :/ Judging by my tweets that night i had a kebab on the way home though. Then apparently i went to tesco at 4am to buy a crate of carlsberg for £10. All-day killer hangover on saturday. Not really done much since then tbh, might be going to the cinema tomorrow to watch Bruno and go to Nando's. Then out thursday, probably friday and saturday too.

It's really cool being back down here, I can't wait to move back here for good one day.

Apparently Percy Pigs are sweets from Marks and Spencers.

I've gone off sweets nowadays. I liked all the artificial additives. Pah! I didn't eat them that often. Wine gums are total cack now. Have given up on sweets. Pfff

    • The Summer on Radio 1 thing makes me wonder whether they might be doing something similar to last year again where they have a temporary schedule over the summer before introducing changes in September - maybe the new host won’t start until after the summer?
    • There was talk on my Big Weekend group from the council about them waiting for Ticketmaster to send an email out. They said they've been waiting a week. Maybe they're waiting for train strike confirmation first.
    • It’s on Saturday and Friday that week too. I guess this would make sense, as it gives them roughly 6 weeks off weekends until they start the new show?
    • Yeah he's on more than usual including this Sunday and then 3 more shows in May according to the above. Makes me think it's James for the weekend shows also
    • For some reason there is 'Summer on Radio 1' listed on Sunday 2nd June, could this be replacing M&M until July?
    • They seem to be using James more for cover now makes me think it will be him getting weekends eitjer breakfast or 1 till 4
    • Yep am very much Capital Breakfast now. Jordan, Chris and Sian are a great trio and it's got that feel of the old shows Jordan and Chris used to do on Radio 1. It doesn't take itself too seriously but is packed full of content and slick. With Greg he's great but 6 years in you've probably heard it all before plus frankly I can sit through the Capital Playlist a lot more easily than the Radio 1 playlist (where some of the inclusions and omissions can be quite baffling at times). Plus after things like the Oscars or Met Gala or if there's a particularly big TV show or film or popstar then Greg won't half wang on about it at times. I guess it's partly to be expected with it being a Breakfast show on a young station but it can feel very London bubble and get tired.
    • Ore Olukoga is in for Arielle on Tuesday 14th May. James Cusack is in for Danny Beard on Saturday 1st June. James Cusack is in for Nat on Sunday 2nd June.
    • I honestly never thought in a million years I’d move from Radio 1 to be a regular Capital breakfast show listener. But it’s got pretty much everything I want - 3 really genuine, entertaining mates having a laugh, playing silly games and it all sounds great. I became a big fan of Chris from his days with Scott, became a Jordan fan on Going Home, and Sian Welby is newer to me but is loads of fun too.  It’s great and I’ve shocked myself by transferring my listening at breakfast. For me Greg’s show now feels very tired and it’s time for something new. But with Jordan gone that’s unlikely to happen anytime soon. Greg’s had a great run and I’m a fan - but there’s no new ideas now. I still listen to Radio 1 at other times - but this show feels like very serious competition for Greg.
    • They have built four new studios to increase capacity, alongside the existing six.  Bearing in mind that some of the output of R1, 1X, R2 & 6M comes from elsewhere, and Asian Network is gradually moving all output to Birmingham, this should be enough!
    • How do they manage to cater for 6Music and Radio 2 on that floor? Did they adapt it?
    • I think we've all figured out now how much you like it @AndyK77 😂 Personally while I think it's by far the best show on the Capital schedule and better than its predecessor, it still has the shortened songs and other commercial-radio aspects that remind me why I'm a Radio 1 fan. No matter how well this has worked out for Jordan, and all credit to him for landing the job, I can't help but feel that a Jordan and Katie show on R1 breakfast would have been so much better!
    • A few weeks in and I am actually loving the show and Jordan is a nice mix of his old chaotic self and dare I say it a slick jock.
    • He must be in his element. At Eurovision and a Gold award!
    • I really like Rylan, and as much of a fun idea it would be to have Scott and Rylan together, I think Rylan is too much of a main character.  Scott needs a side-kick rather than a full on co-host I think. That’s why he and Chris worked so well, Scott steered the show, and Chris was the perfect person to have alongside him.    I don’t religiously listen to Rylan’s show, but when I do catch it, it’s perfect weekend energy. He has a very warm presenting style too, but something makes me think he and Scott together every day would be a bit too much.
