Roman on weekends had crossed my mind too, now that he’s properly part of the bbc family on the one show

It did cross my mind when James Cusack had him on last week to talk about the Brits…

If they were going to give him a slot they would’ve given him Dean and Vicky’s slot probably.

Capital also wouldn’t be giving him the grand (for their standards) exit that seems to be happening if he was going to Radio 1.

Wait is that who it was? Did he say something about who it was after? Maybe I missed that part but i thought I'd skipped through all of it on sounds.

I still think its James for weekends and it's his global work thats holding it up

Yes, especially when weekend afternoons on most radio stations never is where a big audience is for radio listeners its a more leisurely and casual time of the week on radio and most stations keep it as very playlist heavy with casual conversation

It also feels a bit "beneath" Roman.. filling in for high profile slots on Radio 2 feels more likely.

Yes, although I don’t think Radio 2 would happen for a few more years but any freelance broadcasting and exploring passion projects and some other television work and travelling. I think for some  weekend afternoons isn’t going to be attractive to a presenter who could get the highest wages and and high profile slots. I see for presenters like Roman would use it as the socialising time of the week.
