Will is an excellent commercial presenter yes I agree BUT If this topic was ‘Best commercial presenter to break into R1’ he wouldn’t make the cut for me. Same with Roman. Great presenters but I just don’t think they can churn the quality of content in comparison to some presenters with equal years of experience.

I like that Lydia who’s covering a lot on capital. Probably not a right fit for Radio 1 though. but lads I like Omah from capital extra and Alex Mansuroglu from Kiss. Omah could easily have taken over from Ace at 1xtra defo something for 1xtra to keep an eye on and Alex (if he ever leaves kiss) surely will stand out at Radio 1….they don’t have anyone like him aswell. I think Aled is scared to be seen as a poacher again so he can’t touch him. but Lydia would do well taking over from Aimee Vivian

Wasn’t their show split in London and Salford…logisitics wise makes sense to have a show in the same place together

I think Greg will leave next year, maybe Jordan was promised breakfast to an extent…but Not just the Jordan show. I think there is no breakfast show ready to take over from Greg. Feel for Aled because a lot of the recent decisions have been more about where in the uk they broadcast from (which maybe from above him)…it’s not as easy as putting someone in a new city. i think RMC leave next year too…Jordan leaving ultimately extended their shelf life. in terms of who’s taking over a breakfast show I have no idea!

I think it was more of a ‘let’s do shows from Salford’ decision. Rather than a talent led decision

Alex is leaving Kiss next month so would be a great move over…start of as cover and ease in to a show end of the year. I disagree with you though. There needs to be a level of experience on national radio surely. Radio 1 isn’t a student radio station, it’s not an audition station. If R1 wants to be seen as the best, then get the best… RMC a great example. Vick Hope another great example. Both national radio experience way before R1. That’s just my thoughts on the experience level of talent on the station at the moment.

It’s time for R1 to get EXPERIENCED presenters. There isn’t many on the current schedule. So many free agents up for grabs that would be amazing on R1 Alex Mansuroglu from Kiss Tinea Taylor from Kiss Lauren Layfield from Capital surely there’s gotta be a convo there!
