What sucks in your life?

Theres evidence to suggest I have autism/aspergers. After Watching Embarrasing bodies tonight, I took a test which can help determine where you are on the autistic spectrum. I came back with a very high score.

it's something I've dwelt on before, especially when AC, who has aspergers, lived with me. It's normally diagnosed in childhood, but considering how messed up my childhood was, I wasn't diagnosed with even my dyspraxia for a very long time.

I'm not thinking about this too much, but I'm going to make an appointment with my GP to explore this.

I did that test and came out with 45 I think, which was very high! My little brother has dyspraxia and aspergers so I guess i wouldn't be surprised if I had either to be honest and I have always thought I was dyspraxic.. I suppose i better do the same..

Had too deep a sleep....having some difficulty getting going this morning....

The sleep of the living dead. Had a dream about the lady who does the taxis in Coronation Street. The one with the blonde hair. Basically we were down the beach together, she had suitcases, and she was leaving to go sailing for the day.... leaving me behind, feeling a bit sad. Hmmmm

Also apparently there were fireworks outside the building where I live between the hours of 0000 - 0200 hours, and I never heard a thing.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Alan. My granddad died this November, and my grandmother died November 2006 (I think...). Both times, we knew it wouldn't be long until it happened, but that doesn't make it any better.

Sorry to hear about that Alan, I've just seen. Hope you're doing okay :).

What also sucks is the news I've just found out about Bernie Nolan!

Quite sinister really that she's the third sister to contract the disease. Wishing her all the luck and strength.

Bored. Don't feel like reading. Well, not the book I have with me. Want to play forza but it's at my house. Can't sew because the artificial light here is horrible. Geek is being geeky. In one of those horrible moods where I can't decide what to do. Very annoying final fantasy music is very fucking annoying.

I may have to resort to violence.

I'd go home but the food is here. Which I also can't eat till he's done being geeky.

Jeez. Is it July yet? At least then I'd be able to do what I feel like doing.

Not so much my life, but I fell so sorry for Danny Miller! If anyone (not that you would, because you lot obviously have lives, unlike me) watches Emmerdale, you would know that this year it has been the best it has ever been, with the whole Aaron's gay storyline. They were up for more awards than any other soap. Danny Miller, the actor playing Aaron in Emmerdale was up for more awards than any other actor! Danny Miller won nothing. Emmerdale won one award. Eastenders won TEN. Hurmmpph.

Yeahh.. I sorta became obsessed with Danny Miller. When I wasn't on UM, I was on Aaron/Danny Miller sites & on YouTube channels dedicated to him talking about him and watching him on repeat.. *sigh*

Had a run in with some stupid useless arrogant moody little blob at work this morning, had a go at me for having one of my headphones in. This was long before the shop was opened I might add. She then proceeded to lecture me on health and safety and all that waste of time and effort.

This isn't the first time me and that bad mooded disgusting example of human kind have come to blows either, she was extremely rude to me last time she was in our store and I gave as good as I got. Surprise surprise, she went and whinged about me that time as well......

At my school we can listen to music through headphones in art and graphics, and that could be considered dangerous, what with the knives and chemicals, but we're still allowed. I don't see how it can affect health and safety in a shop, especially when it hasn't even opened yet. And one headphone? That's barely antisocial - you can still hear everything. Half my lessons are like that... She's just over zealous and pernickety in my opinion.

Ohai.

well this one is known for bein pretty anal about the slightest little things and apparently if I have them in it means I can't hear things like fire alarms, however I heard her moronic tones pretty clearly when she first spoke to me this morning. I got that bit in when I was "apologising" to her, told her I couldnt prove it but she'd have to take my word for it that I only ever have 1 in and its pretty low precisely because otherwise I wouldnt be able to hear things like a fire alarm. All I can say is thank god she's only filling in for someone else on maternaty leave because otherwise I'd actually have kicked her back to wherever it is she actually comes from

We got away with listening to music during the photography exam - but the department are pretty lax when it comes to that kind of thing. And a lot of other things really, but I'm not going to have a rant about that now.

My goodness, that's a pretty funky donkey!

    • Bank Holiday Monday Schedule 6am-10am: Arielle Free in for Greg 10am-2pm: Dean & Vicky (No Rickie, Melvin & Charlie) 2pm-6pm: Vick & Jamie (No Katie) 6pm onwards: As normal.
    • Dare I say they've sounded great this past week?  Very much gelling.  Maybe less pressure?  Seem to be having a genuinely good time and not forcing things.
    • I'm in the minority in my workplace, most of them love country music.  Me, the American, does not care for it.  That said, I haven't haaaaaated some of the country adjacent stuff that's been on the R1 playlist.
    • The Eurovision semi finals are on from 8 to 10pm on Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th May with Richie Anderson. That means Sara Cox in on till 8 on those days.  Saturday 11th May is Eurovision 'Super Saturday... 1-3pm Your Ultimate Abba song with Gary Davies  3-6pm Michelle Visage's Eurovision All Stars 6-8pm Eurovision Request Party with Owain Wynn Evans 8pm Eurovision Grand Final with Scott Mills and Rylan Clark
    • It is funny because everyone thought Matt was on the way out, now he's been described as the heir to Mills.
    • Some similar names to Big Weekend.  Sabrina Carpenter, David Guetta, Perrie, Bradley Simpson, Jax Jones, Caity Baser, Benson Boone, Rudimental. David Guetta is a good name.
    • Still Scott for me. I'm not too much into the 70s and 80s radio 2 play but do love the injection of 90s and 00s. Then Radio 2 push for all this country stuff and it not a UK thing, and I frankly don't like it. Scott's show as in features, hit and miss. I like the music police bit, but it feels like someone needs to join him. It's a shame Chappers is so busy with sports, as it feels like it could do with someone like him jumping on to help. Or a new partner. Radio 1, take or leave. Matt and Mollie are OK from what I've heard and share a good connection, but it's the playlist that throws me off. They could bring back Chris Moyles to do that show, but as soon as something like Headie One comes on with that casino keyboard produced crap. It would still be switched off from me.
    • Reading through this thread, I don't feel quite so alone now, in thinking that Scott Mills on R2 is not a good 'fit' (even less so than on R5).  I can't quite explain why this is so - I just know it to be so.
    • Arielle has been on holiday for the last 2 weeks getting married / honeymoon.  It'll be live from this week onwards.
    • CassKidd is in for Sian on Sunday 5th May.
    • The brought to tiers feature was also very good from them. I did wonder which DJ's were going to get picked out of the hat, that could have gone one way or the other and the caller said they were very opinionated lol. Correct decision putting katie in god tier!
    • The extended Dua Lipa track from M&M was very funny. I'm hoping Matt and Mollie and Scott have a good relationship a bit like Greg and Zoe collaborate on-air sometimes.
    • Gary Davies in for Vernon Kay tomorrow (Monday 29th April).
    • When Scott and Chris announced their departure from R1, I remember there was lots of speculation about who would take over the 1pm slot. Matt and Mollie were talked about a lot on here, and at the time I really didn't rate them as a replacement. A few years on, I see that I was totally wrong. They are such a good pairing, and it's the same kind of duo as Scott and Chris, in that they are real life friends, who spend time together in their real lives, which really does come across on air. True friends having a laugh together, and everyone is invited is how it feels to me now. I never thought about it before, but I agree with @coffeeandgin that Mollie is the Scott of the duo - pop obsessed and maybe a litte ditsy, but so funny, and in need of someone to anchor to or bounce off.  It seems that Matt is the kind of Chris of the duo then in that comparison, the one with the ideas, but also needs another person to make the magic happen. I know I'm outside of the R1 demographic, and maybe Dean and Vicky were meant to be younger and fresher, but I'm sure in my younger years I would have preferred to listen to two people who had a genuine connection and could really make each other laugh, as well as have the listeners laugh along. That was the Scott and Chris factor for me, and I think the only pair that come close to that now are Matt and Mollie.
