Would be surprised if 00s, 10s, Life Hacks and First Look are happening on Xmas eve as the schedule currently suggests, so I guess that it’ll be updated.

Last year they did 3 days of wall-to-wall Christmas music, although they weren’t helped by the fact they did that ‘Christmas Wishes’ thing on the 22nd, so they couldn’t really go back to the normal playlist for one day on the 23rd.

It kind of feels lik they could end up getting a pool of the best of the future generation presenters over the past few years for the Christmas season. Assume that waiting to announce specials can imagine that in the next week that announcements will start to see some of the tv and radio highlights starting to be announced for the special Christmas new year stuff

Think that Lifehacks will have a fortnight rest over Christmas and will return on the first sunday of January. They could easily keep 00s and 10s shows if they wanted to theme them around the Christmas songs of the two decades playlist Justin Bieber, Sia and Michael Bublé for the 10s Darkness for the 00s sure they can think of some others.

29th December

2pm-6pm: The Official Chart Of The Year 2023 with Jack Saunders.

I think this is the first time in a few years that the Chart Of The Year has been on Radio 1.

I assume it will be 100 songs and they’ll skip over some of them to play about 65 in the end!

Even on a 3 hour show nowadays it’s usually around 48 songs and that’s with content wrapped around it

I think that'll be a strong show, I can't remember hearing a chart of the year before on Radio 1, but perhaps there was before my time!

The last time they did it was 2018.

It to be very good addition to the stations schedule over the festive period especially when it was rare that you would have repeated tracks of repeated in the chart from previous years.
