    • So there are lots of feelings and things to consider with this case and the wave of consequences it has made.  I was saying about Sara.... Imagine the turmiol she will have to deal with knowing this is the way she got the breakfast gig, because of this story. Imagine the turmoil of OJ who likely gets drive, again "yes I got the 2nd on the grid slot only because of...... " I really feel for the innocent parties though, I never took to Ellie Brennan but I think she has done a really outstanding job on air this week with Gary in what must be one of the most awkard weeks of their careers. Tina is coming back into this next week? and potentially having to report on it, if BBC news decide it is to be covered still (remember she works for BBC news not Radio 2 as does Ellie?).  Gary has been slagged off for dropping features and being "Gary" but he has done what any PD would expect, steered the ship through the rough sea. remember he was at R1 when the DLT crisis happened, when Wright failed at breakfast, and more, so this is one of those times for him, one of those times he has had experience of in the past, I would say just the right man to steer it through.  I know collegues of Steve Wright said him being pushed off of afternoons was the end of him, maybe it was, the haters all blamed Scott for that as well, when Scott was simply offered a new job, and took it, if you were Scott at R1 for 25 years and the PD of Radio 2 comes in and says, hey.. you don't say fuck off... and I might add R1 offered Scott another two year deal in 2022 to stop him moving and he ultimately decided he wanted to.  So all of this is a very sad culmination for all involved, very sad, Scott who was just getting started at Breakfast, really, moulding Ellie into the Stark role, knowing if they brought some of his games to life she would be the other player.  Spare a thought for organsiations as well affected by this, minor, but Welcome Break decided to remove the named bridge, charities have dissacoiated from him already, he (I read today) is likely to loose his docterate, with more affiliations more than likely to come who will announce his removal. Not pleasent for anyone involved.  Spare a thought for Chris Stark, a man who would not be where he is today without Scott Mills, Jordan North, another man whom Scott mentored, and got into Radio 1, Chris Moyles, someone who worked with Scott closely. All having to be on air and not mention it, no doubt Moyles, Dom, Mistajam, Pippa, Jordan have been in the kitchen in Leicester Square discussing it. But still, Chris Stark, very awakrd for him at the moment.  Greg James - someone else Moyles and Mills mentored in his early days at R1, someone who idolised Mills and wanted to be like him, having to come back on air Tuesday and do his "fun" show with this happening, and potentially being reported on by Callum Leslie on his news updates. Greg will probbly be told to say nothing, which is why I expect Moyles has not mentioned it on his show, its live, its potentially a case legally if you say anything so let the news do it.  You have to think of all of these people directly, or indirectly affected by this event. Far more affected than a few of us having a moan threatening to boycott the BBC.  I simply hope for the following for all involved; The fire burns down to embers, and out, Scott is able to live the rest of his life in peace with Sam and Teddy, with the hope of coming back on air one day. The complainant is appeased and gets compensated for their suffering.  I hope one day, Scott is able to tell his side of the story, but for now we have to (and yes I know this is a bitter pill to swallow) accept the fact we will not hear from Scott, the BBC, or anyone else on it.
    • I have just added to it, I had to save and edit was going on and on and on...
    • Ok I am going to have my five pence worth on this again.  Lets look at the bare facts, not opinion. I realise/know how upsetting this is, as someone who listened to the man from being a teenager, (I am now 50 odd) I cannot tell you how devistated I am, not only for the industry as it has sent shockwaves through it, but also for the man himself, his husband, his poor mum who must be reeling, his god children, his immediate family this includes Sams side as well because they will be as devestated for them, as well as Sam who has a production role and will likely be affected by this "event" but also for the person the other side of this, the potential complainant, who must be beside themselves at the thought a national treasure is literally in ruins, and continues to be front page news. I empathise with all involved, everyone who is reeling from this, and by all accounts that is millions. I do not feel for the tabliod press, whom Scott has indirectly asked to stop speculating, printing stories, who seem to still be in overdrive. The good thing is it is not on the news anymore, but on social, news sites it's still one of the main stories, the main story is again the Iran war, where thousands of innocent families are being desimated because of what seems like one man "deciding" he wants a war, dscribed as "illegial" by various other world leaders, if this is the case or not we will see... A US pilot is missing with the prospect of being found, and Iranians being paid cash by their government to hand him in, and if they do we will probably see in real time a prisoner of war being made to plead with his government to end it to save his own life, which will be a very disturbing watch for us all, but is possible. Kind of puts a Radio DJ being sacked off on the back burner? Not that this means anything less to me, or you, or the country but spare a thought for the poor family of the US pilot who may be close to being paraded around under torture on live news.  Now back to Scott and the BBC. The BBC clearly had good cause/reason to terminate their contract with Scott Mills. We really do not know the ins and outs, nor will we likely find out this side of King William taking the throne. What we do know is Scott was cancelled. The BBC would not have done this without speaking to legal teams, or having a water tight case. Think what you will of the BBC, they are not likely to fire on a whim, specially someone as prominent as Scott on their books.  The fans boycotting Radio 2, doing petitions, commenting on social, I am sad to say will not reinstate Scott. His BBC career is over, period. As sad as that is for us, for the nation, it is what is currenly factual.  Maybe, just maybe with some positive things he may be able to make some kind of comeback in future, but for the moment Scott MIlls is back to being average joe, sadly.  I do not know Scott personally, I have never met him, all most of us know is the Scott we see on the Radio and TV, and he seems like a really likeable, kind man, and he has said the Scott we see and hear is him he is not putting on an act, but there are still elements of his personality and life that don't come to air. We should not judge anyone, nor should we make assumptions.  The facts laid bare are, the BBC recieved information, investigated and acted. Tim Davey went on the record last week saying basically he had to go. Now if that was to save face, we will never know, but I really doubt the BBC would bin one of their highest profile stars without good cause. The same last week Scott himself confirmed that what we were being told was factual in his statement. He also asked for the media/online/press activity to cease, yes that is never going to happen, but still, he made his wishes clear.  If the BBC had not of acted and the story was published then what would the media outcry be?  I am not saying Scott is a nasty man, and he may have made a mistake, which has come back to haunt him, but the BBC have clearly said "new" information came to light, again what that was we will never know, nor do we want to know. The BBC do not have a duty to air details of sackings, or contract terminations, and for all we know Scott could be subject to an NDA from their legal side which is why we haven't heard more from him. What is certian the more speculation, comments, arguments on the socials, are no good for us, no good for the complainant, and no good for our friend Scott Mills and his family. Our friend on the radio, our friend who we admire and love so much.  I think people need to see the bigger picture, people get fired from ILR jobs all the time, we don't hear about it, I know a local presenter who is hanging on to his job by a thread because of his managements greed to get a local "name" in his slot, and he is paid bare bones for voice tracking and has to feed a family on it.  The above is all my own view, and of course others will say I am a prude and suchlike, but the real picture here is; BBC got information, we don't know what, when, where. The BBC investigated, Scott was hauled in on 23rd March for talks, did a very "normal" show on 24th knowing this was ongoing, got told not to reappar on the 25th and stay away, got fired some time on Friday 27th and the mirror jorno got hold of it on Sunday 29th (48hrs after the BBC had acted in his own words while at the movied with his family) put it to the BBC who then agreed that the Mirror could break it Monday at 1100 so they could get a statement ready to go when it was broken.  What we need to bear in mind Scott, the complainant, Sam, their families, are all people with feelings, and are hurting a lot, Scott is known for having Mental Health issues, so this could send him into a spiral, so we need to be mindful of this. Imagine how difficult this is for his team as well, OHHH Gary Davies having to carry his show featureless, knowing this and unable to comment, Ellie who is clearly distressed, poor Tina who is coming back to this shit strorm and potentially having to report on it, she out of them all has worked with Scott the longest going back to the 00s on the Chris Moyles show, the Grimmy days and to when she left R1 in 2019 to join R2 breakfast. Not to mention Sam his hubby who works in production on his show. Spare a thought as well for poor Sara Cox who will likely be looked upon to steer the ship around the ice berg if she is given the slot, a good friend of Scott since the late 90s, she must be going through merry hell torn between this lifelong ambiton going back to the 2010s when she was the bridesmaid for Chris Evans, then getting ditched as the dep when Zoe got the role, replaced with Fearne Cotton, being given the boobie prize of drivetime. Now being almost handed the breakfast show when she was probably never expecting to have it as hers because Scott would have gone a godo ten to fifteen years on the slot, until last week she thought drive was her lot.   More later....
    • There’s probably a reason he’s not suing or proclaiming his innocence, it’ll become clear within time how justified the BBC is.
    • People shouldn’t think the worst unless they know it’s the worst
    • The BBC would’ve likely taken legal advise before proceeding. Otherwise, they’d leave themselves in a vulnerable position. They wouldn’t have sacked him unless it was extremely serious misconduct. It’s a great shame. What a sad end to a career spanning 3-decades.
