If you could present any radio show...

Some sort of XFM gold show. Or just something that played really cool music to my own specifications. Ooh ooh. And make it a request show but if people request a crap song just tell em no, pick a better one and if they don't then I hang up and keep going till someone does pick a good song. And I'd present it with my mate and whoever else just turned up that day.

Sometimes here, sometimes not.

Well, since you asked, my choice would be Radio 1's chart show with Scott Mills. I wouldn't be able to keep up with a daily show and you get to meet some of the charters which may be the first time Duffy and I lay eyes on each other. It seems so much easier than running a show like Moyles or Mills because you have a main structure, the chart itself, which you have to flesh out with phone conversations and interviews. Plus you get to find out the number 1 earlier than everyone else!

Breakfast show! With 2 co-hosts, not sure who. Mostly modern music, throwing in the occasional well known classic, maybe a mashup or two, however a "must be good" rule for the music.

Lots of banter, silly features and audio clips, playing around with sound and stuff. Big production for the show though, custom jingles and beds et al. Yeah, kinda like Moyles in that respect.

Oh yeah, and my gaming radio show.

I'd like to be like TOWDS. Getting to work at radio 1 and hang out with all the DJs without having to talk and reveal everything about yourself to the whole world. Wouldn't mind speaking occasionally like Matt Fincham off've the Chris Moyles show. But I guess it's not really presenting.

haha I think I'd absolutely love your show :P

I think I'd be awful as a DJ but I wouldn't mind being a producer, possibly on Colin's show although I don't think I'd enjoy working late evening.

In a dream world, I'd find my feet on Kerrang and take the breakfast show with my friend Chloe as my Robin Quivers figure (for non-listeners, imagine Chappers as newsreader and female), another close friend as my engineer/script editor/guy in the background (TOWDS-esque) a producer and a comedy figure (comedian or writer). Then we'd set sights on London with the eventual aim of the Radio One Breakfast Show, or at least a national breakfast show where I can dictate what I do.

I'd settle for sitting in on a Howard Stern show when he gets the naked models to orgasm on the sybian though.

Which would it be? From any show across any channel which one would you most like to present. Would you co-present with another presenter or do it on your own?
Oooh. I like this topic. I would co-present with Sara Cox, just to see which one of us could be at the centre of the biggest fiasco!! lol

Indeed. It's a Howard 100 show on SIRIUS. It goes against Moyles' timeslot in America, which is probably one reason why Moyles' numbers there aren't so great.

Does that take time zone into account?

    • I see Katie (and Mairead) were out with Jordan tonight.  I don’t listen to the show any longer, I am shocked they are allowed to mention Jordan.
    • At least I do not ask stupid questions…😂
    • I suggest you follow the other DJs too if so, you will learn the hardest working will go further 🤣
    • A simple check on his instagram would answer all your questions , he’s on tour with his wife and the team behind his podcast. I suggest anyone to follow the radio presenters, you will learn a lot about their other jobs and work commitments.
    • Where is Jamie? It felt like he was settling in when Vick wasn’t on but he’s not been on since last Tuesday now. They’ve not even mentioned him, in fact they’ve mentioned Jordan more than they’ve mentioned him in the last two days.
    • Scott's show is on the road next week, live from Malmö in Sweden on Wednesday and Friday, ahead of Eurovision. As he's doing the semi final coverage on the TV on Tuesday and Thursday alongside Rylan, Gary Davies sits in for him on those days.
    • I don't feel there's so much overlap between M&M and Scott's shows. M&M is of a similar calibre to Scott & Chris on R1, with genuine laugh out loud moments and usually a show packed full of real interesting content. Scott's R2 show is IMO a shadow of the stuff he did on R1 (not his fault, he's doing exactly what station management want), with music and content to appeal to a much older audience.
    • To be fair, Scott & Chris would've still been fine on Radio 1. It was mentioned at the time that Scott's move was very much on Radio 2's part rather than Radio 1 wanting to move them on. That's the one problem that Radio 2 has, trying to appeal to such a wide demographic.. it's the perfect listen for many, but equally a turn off for many others. I think they have the balance fairly right.
    • I agree Scott has always been a good standalone presenter, but always better when with someone. When chappers left the radio one show it felt a different show and Chris joining was what it needed and brought new life. for the format of the radio 2 show Scott’s show fits well with the station but again, there’s the huge gap between radio1 and 2 As been said already old radio2 listeners feel it now feels too young with latest changes, yet old radio1 listeners still feel radio 2 feels too old. The inbetween stage demographic of too old for radio 1 but too young for radio 2 is still not catered for radio 2 was left to grow old with its audience for too long and to change things up now feels to try and change a brand image the right thing to do is leave it as it is and cater for that 1.5 demographic which I’m sure the new proposed 00s and 10s station will do if approved. Problem is it’s so overdue that by the time it gets off the ground these listeners are already likely to be lost and the changing image of radio2 likely to lose what it stands for as a brand with the “it’s too young now “  moving to boom and the “ it still sounds old “ crowd not able to move with their favourite presenters like Scott so finding themself on capital a radio 1.5 would have been perfect for Scott and Chris, seems unlikely but this is why I think who branding of bbc radio needs a rethink if these new stations get off ground
    • Bank Holiday Monday Schedule 6am-10am: Arielle Free in for Greg 10am-2pm: Dean & Vicky (No Rickie, Melvin & Charlie) 2pm-6pm: Vick & Jamie (No Katie) 6pm onwards: As normal.
    • Dare I say they've sounded great this past week?  Very much gelling.  Maybe less pressure?  Seem to be having a genuinely good time and not forcing things.
    • I'm in the minority in my workplace, most of them love country music.  Me, the American, does not care for it.  That said, I haven't haaaaaated some of the country adjacent stuff that's been on the R1 playlist.
    • The Eurovision semi finals are on from 8 to 10pm on Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th May with Richie Anderson. That means Sara Cox in on till 8 on those days.  Saturday 11th May is Eurovision 'Super Saturday... 1-3pm Your Ultimate Abba song with Gary Davies  3-6pm Michelle Visage's Eurovision All Stars 6-8pm Eurovision Request Party with Owain Wynn Evans 8pm Eurovision Grand Final with Scott Mills and Rylan Clark
    • It is funny because everyone thought Matt was on the way out, now he's been described as the heir to Mills.
