I think it’s a slimmer line-up and seems to fall short in previous years where it seemed almost double that I know Raye is booked to perform and is a headline name. I think the issue with a station like capital they are dealing with a rather lacklustre year for pop and theres no real big pulls for pop festivals that are an easy sell out right now. I think Capital has had seen it’s Capital Ball’s as for any generic pop music listener I don’t know whether Bradley Simpson, Aitch and Paul Russel have the universality to play in a stadium even Sugababes think it would be better if they chosen a smaller outdoor location or Wembley arena. -
He's in bed sick today so not sure it will happen this weekend. -
Don't think it's the most amazing line-up. They seemed to really be pushing people to buy tickets on release day.

So from the podcast it’s Vick and Jamie on Monday, all 3 of them on Tuesday and Wednesday, Vick and Katie on Thursday and then Katie is on holiday the week after so it’s just Vick and Jamie. I wonder how long it will be before we actually get a full week of their show? -

I really do miss scott on r1. For me it was the entertainment that always came from the show, you knew no matter when you listened it was going to be entertaining and make the day go faster. A brilliant presenter. -

How can that be possible, when Katie said on the first episode of the new podcast that she got the call afterwards and was surprised because she'd heard about Jamie being announced and thought that was it? -
Katie got offered job before Jamie. They wanted to announce Katie last in case of backlash over Jamie getting it. I met Katie recently and she told me this -

Sorry! I don't really check here often - but yes i agree! I think Radio 1 back then was perfect and was amazing. I really am tempted to start a new channel filled with random BBC Radio 1/Radio 2 shows I have archived from 2007-2018! Full shows, one place 🤤 what a dream! Maybe it was just late-00's and early-10's culture then that made it even better, but I swear the music they played back then too were WAY nicer and more varied! Thank you so much for the love on 4t8 ❤️
