Im fed up with my job, its so unstimulating, I turn up and switch off for the day, I dont have to think I just go onto autopilot until I go home. I need A new job before I go mad.

Where would we be if we did'ht have rules....?

I've had a good day. Woke up pretty early (for me, anyway!) and had the urge to go shopping, so I did. Got some nice, and most importantly, cheap stuff! Got to the bus stop just as the bus was pulling away, and the driver wouldn't let anymore people on so I had to go to HMV to fill the time until the next bus arrived. Bought 'The Last Kiss', which I've been wanting to watch for ages, hopefully it'll be good! Went out tonight, had quite a good night although I didn't go out with the people who I normally go out with, so it was a bit strange. Really tired now, so I should go to sleep... but no, I'm here!! :P

Edit: I feel sick. :(

Not been on here for a few days..

I'm so tired. My brother and sister came down thursday night, so i stayed up until about 2 with them talking and was up early the next day for my Nan's funeral. It was a sad day really but nice in the way I got to see my family. Didn't get in last night until about 12...then stayed up again and i was up at 8 this morning for work.

I claim a lie in for tomorrow morning :)

Myspace have so ripped off UM by the way!

Now, ive decided to go out tonight. Just to a friends house though. I'll be on here tomorrow moaning about how sick i feel and how i will never touch another drop of alcohol ever again. That will be a lie.

i drank quite a lot last night it seems.
:yeahthat:

:yeahthat: :P

Felt fine today, although I didn't wake up til about midday. Had some really strange callers at work this afternoon. The first one who phoned a debt company told me that she had been enjoying the 'on hold' music, and that she had borrowed £2 from her friend, which turned into £200 and could we help her? She didn't want to leave any details though...

The conversation with the another weird caller went a bit like this:

Me: "Good evening [company name] Swidon, how can I help?"

Them: "I like Swindon."

Me: "That's nice for you. How can I help?"

Silence.

Me: "Do you need an emergency call out?"

Them: "I'll tell you what I need... a condom."

I hung up then. Honestly, do people not have anything better to do on a Saturday night?!

Erm, Mum appears to have banned me from the computer and radio. Something about 'taking three hours to get out of bed'. I'm not sure, I was still half asleep. Anywhoo, I probably won't be online for the next few days, until she gives in. I followed her around from 4-7 today whining that Scott's live from Spain and that this only happens once a year, but she just told me to shut up and stop being such a baby. She'll get bored of me eventually.

Love to ya all. x

I went to see HP last night, and it was amazing (the best bit was Harry saying "we've been at it all night, can't I just rest?", I let out a g'mornin' quite loudly by accident). I'm reading the fourth book now (I read them all in the wrong order) and I'll have finished it by Friday meaning I'll be all ready to queue up that evening. /geek

I have to redo some english coursework, but I'm going to hope that won't take too long.

I abseiled 80ft today for charity. Twice. Its the most useful ive felt for quite a while. But it was excellent. Id like to think i was a natural, but theres not much skill to it really.

Abseiling is a great cure for a bit of a hangover. I felt rough as this monring, but a bit of adrenalin had me sorted out in no time. The instructor guy just told me to aim away from the people if i was going to be sick. How helpful of him.

Now, im having a friend over soon. Well, when i say over, he lives across the landing.

I got back about an hour ago. Train drivers say really reassuring things like 'the train was delayed because the police were looking for someone'. I should go to bed really, I'm very tired, but I can't really be bothered so I'm watching TV.

I've had a good few days staying up north with my friend in the countryside. I missed the city though. I'm still jobless although I did get an interview last week.

TWO bley hours the fire alarm was going off for. It's so loud, I know that's the point but when there isn't an actual fire it's a bit annoying. In the end I had to go back outside, because it was hurting my ears. The security man turned up to turn it off about half an hour later but apparently no one had told him about it, that's why he took so long.

    • Bank Holiday Monday Schedule 6am-10am: Arielle Free in for Greg 10am-2pm: Dean & Vicky (No Rickie, Melvin & Charlie) 2pm-6pm: Vick & Jamie (No Katie) 6pm onwards: As normal.
    • Dare I say they've sounded great this past week?  Very much gelling.  Maybe less pressure?  Seem to be having a genuinely good time and not forcing things.
    • I'm in the minority in my workplace, most of them love country music.  Me, the American, does not care for it.  That said, I haven't haaaaaated some of the country adjacent stuff that's been on the R1 playlist.
    • The Eurovision semi finals are on from 8 to 10pm on Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th May with Richie Anderson. That means Sara Cox in on till 8 on those days.  Saturday 11th May is Eurovision 'Super Saturday... 1-3pm Your Ultimate Abba song with Gary Davies  3-6pm Michelle Visage's Eurovision All Stars 6-8pm Eurovision Request Party with Owain Wynn Evans 8pm Eurovision Grand Final with Scott Mills and Rylan Clark
    • It is funny because everyone thought Matt was on the way out, now he's been described as the heir to Mills.
    • Some similar names to Big Weekend.  Sabrina Carpenter, David Guetta, Perrie, Bradley Simpson, Jax Jones, Caity Baser, Benson Boone, Rudimental. David Guetta is a good name.
    • Still Scott for me. I'm not too much into the 70s and 80s radio 2 play but do love the injection of 90s and 00s. Then Radio 2 push for all this country stuff and it not a UK thing, and I frankly don't like it. Scott's show as in features, hit and miss. I like the music police bit, but it feels like someone needs to join him. It's a shame Chappers is so busy with sports, as it feels like it could do with someone like him jumping on to help. Or a new partner. Radio 1, take or leave. Matt and Mollie are OK from what I've heard and share a good connection, but it's the playlist that throws me off. They could bring back Chris Moyles to do that show, but as soon as something like Headie One comes on with that casino keyboard produced crap. It would still be switched off from me.
    • Reading through this thread, I don't feel quite so alone now, in thinking that Scott Mills on R2 is not a good 'fit' (even less so than on R5).  I can't quite explain why this is so - I just know it to be so.
    • Arielle has been on holiday for the last 2 weeks getting married / honeymoon.  It'll be live from this week onwards.
    • CassKidd is in for Sian on Sunday 5th May.
    • The brought to tiers feature was also very good from them. I did wonder which DJ's were going to get picked out of the hat, that could have gone one way or the other and the caller said they were very opinionated lol. Correct decision putting katie in god tier!
    • The extended Dua Lipa track from M&M was very funny. I'm hoping Matt and Mollie and Scott have a good relationship a bit like Greg and Zoe collaborate on-air sometimes.
    • Gary Davies in for Vernon Kay tomorrow (Monday 29th April).
    • When Scott and Chris announced their departure from R1, I remember there was lots of speculation about who would take over the 1pm slot. Matt and Mollie were talked about a lot on here, and at the time I really didn't rate them as a replacement. A few years on, I see that I was totally wrong. They are such a good pairing, and it's the same kind of duo as Scott and Chris, in that they are real life friends, who spend time together in their real lives, which really does come across on air. True friends having a laugh together, and everyone is invited is how it feels to me now. I never thought about it before, but I agree with @coffeeandgin that Mollie is the Scott of the duo - pop obsessed and maybe a litte ditsy, but so funny, and in need of someone to anchor to or bounce off.  It seems that Matt is the kind of Chris of the duo then in that comparison, the one with the ideas, but also needs another person to make the magic happen. I know I'm outside of the R1 demographic, and maybe Dean and Vicky were meant to be younger and fresher, but I'm sure in my younger years I would have preferred to listen to two people who had a genuine connection and could really make each other laugh, as well as have the listeners laugh along. That was the Scott and Chris factor for me, and I think the only pair that come close to that now are Matt and Mollie.
