Here's an interesting one - Jack Saunders will be in for Nick Grimshaw on Wednesday 31st March, with Jess Iszatt covering Jack's show that evening.

Just curious where you saw that? I checked the schedule and I could not see anything.

Ooh that’s interesting - correct me if I’m wrong but I think that’s the first time he’s covered a proper daytime show as opposed to him doing the Indie Show on the nighttime takeover?

Yes I think it is! I'm very interested to hear how he sounds. I really rate him as a broadcaster and he seems to have a great personality so him covering Grimmy should be good!

Thrust would be quite interesting change of style and programming from the time he pops up odd time to time speaking on daytime shows and some game features of battle of fans before on indie show he seems he could fit day time do feel like it would be good to get a specialist presenter back on day time again as Huw Stephens did good cover and his own show on Saturday and Sunday afternoons for years so think it would be good to have that passion for music and bring some more specialist with entertainment that fits daytime again. I mean Annie covered Fearne Cotton possibly Clara vise versa so seems like going back to more blended between covering I mean it’s not far of to how Radio 1 Xtra or 6 Music would do it

That’d be a Nick Grimshaw route if he does move into daytime I suppose.

I would’ve tipped him more for the Annie Mac slot though, but actually maybe Clara or Sian would be a better fit for that in years to come.

Jack is an interesting one. Very lively on drive time. But he still sounds a bit too energetic and shouty compared to other daytime DJs. I think if he could be fine tuned he could work well with a weekend show. He probably won't find it complimentary to still be defined by Radio X but it's something I tend to listen to for something different.

This was easily the most coherent, well put together first Drive cover from any Radio 1 DJ I’ve heard.  Normally first time it sounds shaky and a bit amateur hour, but Jack put together a solid performance, and that’s a high bar to build from!  Jordan’s *first* cover on Drive didn’t sound nearly as professional as his covers do now.

I guess the dilemma Aled has is that the schedule needs more women... Weekdays only have Clara, which could explain why Annie Mac starts at 6pm

Isn't early breakfast classed as part of the daytime schedule?

I do rate Jack as a broadcaster, he's very passionate about the music he plays. I did notice he did give out more detail while namechecking the tracks, i suppose something he's used to doing on his own show, although that's not a bad thing. I enjoyed listening this afternoon

Completely agree. Until today I didn't see a possibility of Jack coming to daytimes, but he was impressive.
