I do agree, it’s a shame we can’t have some normality that week. Considering there are 3 full normal working days for most of us. Nat & Vicky especially just aren’t strong enough for that sort of exposure. It’s a shame someone like Mylo & Rosie aren’t being utilised. Sam & Danni Christmas Breakfast that week should be good though.

Interestingly even though Pop Anthems says Matt & Lauren on Thursday, the description for the main show says Mollie & Lauren. I assume it may have been Jerry had he not already been on Going Home those days

Anthems Live is on the 15th, so I wonder if they’re doing a week of shows in the run up like they do for Big Weekend?

So Going Home’s updated their schedule on BBC Sounds: 1st - 3rd = Katie & Jamie 4th - 11th = Katie & Jerry 15th & 16th = Katie & Jamie 17th & 18th = Katie & Emil So that’s a grand total of 3 shows back for Jamie before he’s off for 5, back for 2, off for 2.

Sam & Danni seem to be down for Breakfast on Monday. James Cusack on Going Home. That’s another new name in the list of “people who have hosted Going Home in 2025”.

Wednesday, surely? But this is another mess, as this weeks Summer press release said it’ll be Sam & Danni no Jamie from the 28th - so it’s actually a whole week earlier!

I get your point, but it’s not THAT random as it always seems to be from the pool of: Vick, Jamie, Emil, Sam & Danni. There is consistency somewhat, even if it is a case of whoever is available. Clearly next week is a case of Vick & Jamie having other projects on for everyday apart from Monday.

Now I know Going Home's attendance has been a bit of a topic of conversation on here over the last 12 months... so I thought I'd keep a tally of who appeared when from the start of 2025. This is from the first proper show of the year on Monday 6th January, right up to Thursday just gone (20th February) which was Katie's last show for a while as she heads off onto Maternity leave. If we're classing a 'normal week' as Jamie appears for 3 shows but the ladies do all 4, they've only managed that for 3 out of the 7 weeks. I think this is a great move & she’ll suit the style of show Scott is doing. Something I was a little concerned about with the suggestion Mark Goodier could provide cover. I do wonder if Sara feels a bit put out by missing out on breakfast permanently? Maybe this is a sweetener by getting her back on cover duties.

I watched this live in the cinema and there were definitely at least 2 mentions of Radio 1, including one which felt a little bit salty about the way he ended up leaving (I think in an answer to a question about a job). Hard to remember the details as it was last April - but I guess he could’ve asked for it to be removed as time has passed and this is a permanent edition! Agree about the Guinness joke, didn’t find it shocking at all ? but maybe I’m not easily offended

Interesting choice & someone going Bauer to BBC rather than the other way round! She’s been on Magic and covered Fleur East’s Maternity on Hits.

Kudos to Aled for replying to your questions - not sure there’s many people in his position who’d do that! Pretty fair and valid I’d say…the RAJAR point is a good one, the anthems situation just allows them to keep the music flowing.

I think I’d like to see a new team built around Scott. Richie has had 6 years on Breakfast with Zoe, so it’s not really unreasonable… I hope we get a few more fun features. The lack of “games” like you get on Radio 1 is something I miss with Scott

Greg, Jordan & now Scott plus Matt & Mollie means a lot of weekday listening! I try and keep on top while at work, but it’s a lot to consume!

What are we going to do about breakfast listening from January onwards!!!

It’s written in the press release as Thursday, so I would guess the graphics/social teams used that as a reference point?

I’ve been banging the drum for Sam & Danni on Weekend Afternoons, so these moves are spot on. Has it been mentioned if they’ll still be in Cardiff? James will be great for WB - that show thrives with a solo presenter because of the pace of the day. Unsure on the need for a Weekend EB, especially at just an hour. But it gets 2 new names into the official line up & should mean all EB/Daytime cover is done by people “on the books”. Jerry should be great fun with Matt. I really rated him from the week he spent on Going Home, despite having not heard a great deal of him beforehand.
