  1. I don't really understand why they'd stop updating it. It's not really a big deal if someone is away? Plus you might listen to a show if you like the cover? As mentioned, all other BBC stations seem to update their online schedules very well. Also interesting to note from the tender document for Early Breakfast / Weekend Breakfast, they're saying production companies should: I'd say BBC Audio aren't doing that currently....
  2. Last minute, it seems from his Instagram story. But interesting given that he’s finishing up at Radio 1 in 5 weeks. I assume Lauren will be new chart cover from September onwards
  3. Weekend Breakfast can become a bit of a content wasteland though. Look at the difference in show that Matt & Mollie did there compared to weekend afternoons. I totally agree with your point though, both shows are interchangeable but I think it’s a good call to have Mylo & Rosie on for 5 mornings a week. I haven’t seen it confirmed anywhere, but are we assuming they’ll still be Salford too? Could Emil being based in London mean that show is moved back there because weekends already have other Salford based shows?
  4. BBC Media Centre says: Further good news for Radio 1’s listeners today as GK Barry will join the station to host a series of shows across the year, kicking off with an initial run on 10 September at 1pm for 6 weeks. One of the UK’s most recognisable presenters and podcast hosts, and the voice behind the chart-topping ‘Saving Grace’ podcast, GK Barry is already a familiar voice to Radio 1 listeners, having previously presented across the station’s schedule. She’ll bring her trademark humour, honesty and energy to the brand-new show.
  5. This Reddit Post has a comment from someone who says James is going back to commercial radio...
  6. I thought this was bizarre too especially given it was mentioned in Newsbeat. Even if they didn't want to give it loads of time, I expected a small acknowledgment that they've got 7 weeks left on the show. I'll admit RMC is the daytime show I hear the least, but I was shocked to hear them only speak twice between 10:30 and 11am and play 5 songs in a row across 10:50 to 11:05am.
  7. Agree with this. At the very least, Live Lounge should return to a Friday and you could either have the 'weekend' start at 1pm or with the chart. Either works. Cover wise, it would be nice if there could be a bit of coordination with Matt & Mollie and Going Home's leave meaning that an established duo like Sam & Danni or Mylo & Rosie could cover instead of swapping in 1 presenter constantly. Maybe not all the time, but it is the done thing for Capital Breakfast to all be off together - or example.
  8. If they’re not doing Thursday afternoons for 6 weeks, will Mollie do a solid run back on Future Pop?
  9. I think it’s safe to assume that Melvin will remain as the main cover for Spoony now going forward too. Radio 2 use a lot of cover that isn’t on the schedule elsewhere. Melvin’s Instagram post mentions he’s doing it for the next few months anyway (wishing Trevor well, as this doesn’t sound like great news). Whereas Rickie is just teasing something else coming. It’s a shame to see the end of Rickie, Melvin & Charlie but it’s not totally unsurprising. I’m not sure where else they go as a duo or trio in the current radio landscape. Maybe Kisstory? Like how Bam Bam returned? But I just can’t see anywhere else that suits them together
  10. Rickie's post also sounds like he has got something new to share soon.
  11. Don't think this is true? Although I am confused about it, the press release says: 10th September is a Thursday. So is she just taking their Thursday slot for a 6 week run?
  12. This is great news that Mylo & Rosie and Emil Franchi are getting permanent shows. Plus well deserved for Jerry, who has been really fantastic at covering in the afternoons over the last year or two. I guess on paper it's not surprising about Rickie & Melvin and Dean, because I think their Radio 1 careers were only moving in one way. Although I am shocked that R&M weren't retained for a weekend slot really. James is a strange one because he only started permanently in January 2025, so lasted less than 2 years. I think the changes to Live Lounge are a bit unnecessary, especially given that Going Home is in much more need of a shake up. Plus this move takes Jerry out of the equation on covering for them or Matt & Mollie.
  13. They always do report the BBC pay. And in true BBC style, they have to “go in hard” or they get accused of trying to hide stuff that the tabloids will be reporting on
  14. Isn’t Greatest Hits mainly 70s 80s 90s?
  15. Wishing Trevor well, because they clearly planning for him to be absent for quite a while. Spoony’s picture is on his show till 24th July right now Melvin’s picture is on Spoony till 23rd July too
  16. Well I think that much is factual as he was named in the Panorama documentary on Monday evening
  17. Seems to be Sam on with Lauren tomorrow and Thursday now anyway - according to BBC Sounds
  18. From a personal financial point of view, probably quite nice for Lauren to earn some extra cash before going off on unpaid freelance maternity leave! I think it’s a shame Emil or someone wasn’t around to at least co-host and help keep that Matt & Mollie vibe Speaking of? Hoping all okay with Mol
  19. I don’t understand why you keep mentioning NDAs because surely this would be Scott’s story to tell? They wouldn’t be able to NDA him telling the press about events in his own life?
  20. 😂 Are you actually being serious? There is more chance of Scott going back on Radio 1 Afternoons than him offering his services for free on a community station or a syndicated show You don’t go from the biggest radio station in Europe to working for free! I really doubt he would be that desperate to be on the radio
  21. They can move shows on a permanent basis though? Looking at the switch to move Afternoons to Salford for Dean & Vicky and then back to London for Matt & Mollie. Considering they only have early breakfast outside of London regularly, I can imagine Radio 2 would like to add an additional daytime show to that
  22. I would assume the TV news misspoke when they said later today. If they had the news ready for today, I would imagine it would be in the same press release. That’s exactly how Scott, Trevor & Spoony were announced.
  23. Really? I totally get the profile idea and the target listener. But this is the biggest radio station in Europe. Breakfast has always been done by someone who has a history of being radio person: Terry Wogan, Chris Evans, Zoe Ball, Scott Mills. I just can’t see Ronan Keating being added to that list. There’s a place for good celebrity presenters on Radio 2, the weekend lineup is full of them. But I’d rather they didn’t take key weekday shows!
  24. A few quotes of interest from that article, as it managed to open in Reader mode for me without subscribing! - We can reveal big names such as Vernon Kay and Sara Cox have ruled themselves out already – with BBC R2’s overnight presenter OJ Borg being seen as a front-runner in the race. - A source said “Meanwhile, with Greg James, he is Radio One’s biggest star and it would be too big a risk to move him onto Radio Two’s breakfast show right now. They need Greg to steady the ship on R1 after the shock of Scott’s departure from the other station. Everyone has been hit really hard by what’s happened.“ - But our insiders say Sara has no interest in taking over the early morning slot. “Sara has been there and done that. She always enjoys covering the breakfast show from time to time, but she’s not currently interested in taking it on permanently.
  25. Because they’re in an awkward spot where Gary isn’t covering for anyone.. so Sara wouldn’t be covering for Gary? And if he’s available, why not at least keep it consistent
