Maybe the two things are linked and RMC are doing Fridays permanently from October. Would be long overdue and the move would coincide with LL month.

Then maybe Nat and Vicky are moving to 1-4pm and someone new (🤞James Cusack) is doing Saturdays and Sundays 10.30-1.

If they put RMC to 5 days, surely they would do the same with Matt & Mollie?

I can’t see Charlie doing 6 days and I think for her dance career she’d prob not want to drop dance anthems yet though surely Friday mid morning is better rating than Saturdays. As I said before to make it equal I’d say Fridays should be Matt and Moll or going home Saturday R & M and Sunday whoever doesn’t do Fridays

Since they added Greg James in on a Friday, I have thought it would make sense to have RMC then too. 

Previously I thought it’d make sense to have “the weekend start” at 1pm with Matt & Mollie, whereas now I’d rather the weekday schedule continued up till 4pm so we have 5 days of M&M.

Although if this was going to happen, surely they’d have changed it in July.

Agree a full time move for rmc to Fridays could be a potential. So could Nat and vicky into the 1-4 show 3 days and then James cusack in weekends 1030-1 saturday and sunday.

Someone has just text r1 saying can you do 2 hour siesta and joel read it out. That is one of james's features lol

They're hardly going to move Nat and Vicky when they've barely even bedded into the mid-morning slot. If RMC do Fridays then N+V will probably just be dropped down to two days.

10th September: Christian Carlisle in for Alyx Holcombe on Introducing Rock.

14th September: Snoochie Shy in for Kenny Allstar on the Radio 1 Rap Show.

20th September: Friday Night schedule from 6pm-12am is cleared out for Europe's Biggest Dance Show.

The rmc being on Friday is weird unless this is permanent. If it's permanent then it makes sense. If its because it's live lounge month then it makes even more sense. If it's neither then I don't know. But I do think we are getting an announcement for weekend 1-4pm soon. So far it's James, Joel and Ore  in the running seemingly unless it's a wildcard or a poaching. Swarzy seems like a possibility now too. Nikita could happen but I don't think it's likely because thats going to require a substantial reshuffle of the sister station whereas Swarzy is only on one day and isn't covering Nadia Jae like she was at one point so it's less impact to 1Xtra

Its difficult to figure what the hold up has been wit h this show. I think we can all safely say this is the last of the summer on radio 1 rotation. Its clearly autumn outside and to call it autumn on radio 1 may be seen as silly. Swarzy was ok with vicky but they could have just been giving 1xtra presenters a chance when cover work comes up like they have nikita from time to time.

Maybe Im remembering how busy and fun matt and mollies weekend shows were but being totally honest james was the standout for me, its felt theres been a lacking on other shows so for my money its him or like was said above the wildcard or poaching

RMC on Fridays will not be a permanent change - they wouldn't put it on the schedule without announcing it.  Has to be for LL month.

Interesting if they're reverting back to 5 performances a week during Live Lounge month. In recent years, it's had been cut back to 4 performances each week. I might be misremembering but... When live lounge month first started, they did it every day in September including weekends (the weekend performances were on Alice Levine's show iirc)

Definitely a possibility, or even Lauren for all three days and someone else does Life Hacks with Shanequa.  Lauren is off the show on Sunday 6th 👀

Because it feels like we’ve suggested him for a new slot so many times and it’s seemingly unlikely to happen
