    • Some more bits and pieces: Sara Cox, with her first show of 2010: Scott sitting in for Fearne & Reggie on the first chart of 2009: And the first of the digitised tape recordings, Chris Moyles from (I believe) the 5th January 2000. Regarding those Google Drive files, there's some great stuff in there! I think I have some bits from at least one of those partial Moyles shows in there, so will need to take a listen...
    • That's rare to see a full day from Radio 1 like that. The Scott Mills one is my recording from the day. I put up my archive a few years ago to mixcloud of all the shows I recorded of him between 2005 and 2007. Before you had to start paying. I think this should be viewable, but I digitised a tape collection a couple of so years ago. Not my recordings, someone else's. All Radio 1 from 1997 to about 2000. Chris Moyles, Zoe Ball and Kevin Greening, Mark and Lard. Plus a few other bits. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ul5dq3vQlIOkzsVc5UK4Y05FSXIm_TXV
    • Who would everyones ideal cover presenter be for each show?
    • First few of these now available: Tom Deacon sitting in for Sara Cox on New Years Day 2012. Despite being a regular listener at the time I have zero recollection of him. One I'm sure will go down well round these parts, three and a half hours with Scott (and Chappers) in for Moyles on his first show of the new year, 2nd January 2008. Radio 1's Top 40 chart of 2007, with Fearne (no Reggie, surprise surprise). This has been made available before via the chart community, but the first half hour is in better quality. From December 2012, Reggie Yates's final show at Radio 1, with that years Xmas Top 40. Again, technically already available elsewhere, but this copy includes Reggie's final goodbye link, which is missing from other versions. And if anyone can cope with even more Xmas music post-December, two shows from Christmas Day 2007, Greg's first ever annual Xmas morning show, and a special one-off with Kylie Minogue.   On a final note, I uploaded these last year (with the exception of Scott) as a bit of a test run. A full day in the company of Radio 1 from Moyles through to Colin Murray. https://www.mixcloud.com/Brigham27/playlists/r1-28062007/
    • Looking forward to hearing these, especially the Chris Moyles afternoon stuff. I digitised a lot of old tapes which had Moyles early breakfast and afternoon stuff on for someone years ago, it's still sitting about online. Once you get them on you'll have to link them in for us.
    • Gary Davies in for Trevor Nelson on Wednesday 7th January.
    • For me it's probably a 7/10.  I can feel I'm slightly aging out of Radio 1 - particularly with the daytime playlist. However, there's still lots to like - Matt & Mollie are right up my street, Greg is great whenever I listen and the likes of Katie, Emil, James Cusack and Sam & Danni are always a delight. Plus Future Pop is a great show and Dance Party Starters is always a strong listen. And there are some great cover options they have - Emil I've mentioned above but the likes of Maia Beth, Jerry, Jodie Bryant, Mylo & Rosie, the two Laurens and Conor Knight I enjoy too when I hear them. And I do wonder down the line if Radio 1 have plans for Minah Shannon as she's popped up a few times.  Though on the negative side - even allowing for the various pregnancies Going Home is way too inconsistent line-up wise.  And outside of Greg and Matt & Mollie, the weekday line-up feels OK rather than especially strong.  As mentioned while I often enjoy the music out of daytime, the music doesn't feel so much for me these days and the focus seems to be less on highlighting all the 'new music' but instead hyping up Radio 1's chosen ones.  Plus Radio 1 do have a tendancy to get slightly blinded by celebrity - as shown by the summer schedule where there was a big song and dance about Sophie and GK Barry despite the fact you could probably count the shows either did on one hand. Meanwhile Sam & Danni and Jerry covering Going Home for ages was barely mentioned.  The next set of big changes will be really interesting to see and I do hope for Radio 1's sake they give the opportunity to "proper radio" talent. If you just go with celebs then it strengthens the argument of 'what is Radio 1 for' since you're then just doing what say Global does.
