Hahahaha. I loved Moyles' handover.

"How was your weekend?"

"Very good. I did the last chart show 15 hours ago"

"Oh nice of you to make it. How long did you last on the chart show?"

"Two years"

"And how many did you make? Is it true it was only 11? More holidays than Father Christmas!"

"Holidays?! I was working!"

"TV work? Stop being so greedy and give us a chance of TV work"

Seriously though. Natalie Jamieson sounded so awkward talking to Fearne. Whatever this Top 5 news stories feature is, it's awful. Why drag out the entertainment news into a ten minute feature when Fearne has no clue what she's talking about? The top story was Strictly and X Factor and Fearne had seen neither.

I feel I've already been rude enough about this 'show' elsewhere on the internet. So have nothing more to say on the subject really.

Gave up an hour and fifty minutes of my life for this today (fortunately I went to the supermarket in the meantime); shall be looking elsewhere tomorrow though. Bye bye R1 between 10 and 1.

really! what have you said ?

the show i felt didn't seem any different to when Fearne was just covering for Jo, as i said above Fearne does go off on weird ramblings, but that's just the way she always has been.

i still maintain that Edith or Lauren Laverne would have been better suited to take over Jo's show & Fearne (& maybe Reggie) to take over Edith's with some of the movie element watered down.

well radio 1 have lost me from 10am. The sad thing is that I turned over, found something I really liked and by the time I realised it was half 3 and had missed Gregs shows. I can see this happening for a lot of people!

Fearne really needed something big and new to keep me listening! And it didnt happen! At that time of the day I want an informative show with some light hearted banter! Not Fearnes patronising manner, stupid giggling, and complete disregard for the lives of us people who have to listen. Her attempt at Entertainment news was still even more pathetic! And what was the sniggering about the Mr Hudson song for - totally not needed and made her sound ridiculous!

Can you guess I didnt like it! Wont be listening again!

There are very few people who could have carried this slot. There are so many great female DJs out there who would have jumped at this chance.....

I don't doubt the production values of the show, it's still Jo's team and they seem to be keeping things going. I just guess as a long-term Jo fan it was disappointing to witness all of her features still going basically without Jo, and to hear a presenter that just doesn't connect to a lot of her audience (I'm basing this on people I've spoken to on Twitter and Facebook that are my age). Unfortunately this angers me so you can expect a bit of a grudge from me for the time being.

I agree that it doesnt just seem to be us not liking it. A friend send me a chat meesage on Facebook simply saying Fearne is crap...!

I don't mind Fearne, and although she's no Jo I haven't minded the show so far though. But I just heard the Moyles handover this morning on the iPlayer. How awkward! Moyles was on top form and made some really quick one liners. But they seemed to go straight over Fearne's head, because she just ignored them and moved on really quickly. Generally she's been OK, but I worry for Radio 1 if every slot is filled with people like her in a few years time. It's really losing its edge.

That's what worries me. That said, I did switch on briefly to her show yesterday morning, and did enjoy what I heard. Well done. :)

I've had a brief listen and it's passable. It's not the worst thing I've ever heard (Nihal), but it's not remarkable, exciting, interesting and doesn't compel me to listen again. So they've replaced entertaining Jo with average Fearne. But hey, at least she really knows how to connect with the kids... Good work Parfitt.

Favourite quote today was "my heart literally jumped out of my chest". I bet it did :/

I notice she's not really interactive at all. Unless it's about a song she doesn't seem to bother with texts or e-mails - that's what it lacks as well - Jo used to talk about what listeners were up to. It might as well be voice tracked apart from the New Music Generator.

Well, she did read out a message from her auntie on Facebook. She's got Robbie tickets apparently...

    • There was talk on my Big Weekend group from the council about them waiting for Ticketmaster to send an email out. They said they've been waiting a week. Maybe they're waiting for train strike confirmation first.
    • It’s on Saturday and Friday that week too. I guess this would make sense, as it gives them roughly 6 weeks off weekends until they start the new show?
    • Yeah he's on more than usual including this Sunday and then 3 more shows in May according to the above. Makes me think it's James for the weekend shows also
    • For some reason there is 'Summer on Radio 1' listed on Sunday 2nd June, could this be replacing M&M until July?
    • They seem to be using James more for cover now makes me think it will be him getting weekends eitjer breakfast or 1 till 4
    • Yep am very much Capital Breakfast now. Jordan, Chris and Sian are a great trio and it's got that feel of the old shows Jordan and Chris used to do on Radio 1. It doesn't take itself too seriously but is packed full of content and slick. With Greg he's great but 6 years in you've probably heard it all before plus frankly I can sit through the Capital Playlist a lot more easily than the Radio 1 playlist (where some of the inclusions and omissions can be quite baffling at times). Plus after things like the Oscars or Met Gala or if there's a particularly big TV show or film or popstar then Greg won't half wang on about it at times. I guess it's partly to be expected with it being a Breakfast show on a young station but it can feel very London bubble and get tired.
    • Ore Olukoga is in for Arielle on Tuesday 14th May. James Cusack is in for Danny Beard on Saturday 1st June. James Cusack is in for Nat on Sunday 2nd June.
    • I honestly never thought in a million years I’d move from Radio 1 to be a regular Capital breakfast show listener. But it’s got pretty much everything I want - 3 really genuine, entertaining mates having a laugh, playing silly games and it all sounds great. I became a big fan of Chris from his days with Scott, became a Jordan fan on Going Home, and Sian Welby is newer to me but is loads of fun too.  It’s great and I’ve shocked myself by transferring my listening at breakfast. For me Greg’s show now feels very tired and it’s time for something new. But with Jordan gone that’s unlikely to happen anytime soon. Greg’s had a great run and I’m a fan - but there’s no new ideas now. I still listen to Radio 1 at other times - but this show feels like very serious competition for Greg.
    • They have built four new studios to increase capacity, alongside the existing six.  Bearing in mind that some of the output of R1, 1X, R2 & 6M comes from elsewhere, and Asian Network is gradually moving all output to Birmingham, this should be enough!
    • How do they manage to cater for 6Music and Radio 2 on that floor? Did they adapt it?
    • I think we've all figured out now how much you like it @AndyK77 😂 Personally while I think it's by far the best show on the Capital schedule and better than its predecessor, it still has the shortened songs and other commercial-radio aspects that remind me why I'm a Radio 1 fan. No matter how well this has worked out for Jordan, and all credit to him for landing the job, I can't help but feel that a Jordan and Katie show on R1 breakfast would have been so much better!
    • A few weeks in and I am actually loving the show and Jordan is a nice mix of his old chaotic self and dare I say it a slick jock.
    • He must be in his element. At Eurovision and a Gold award!
    • I really like Rylan, and as much of a fun idea it would be to have Scott and Rylan together, I think Rylan is too much of a main character.  Scott needs a side-kick rather than a full on co-host I think. That’s why he and Chris worked so well, Scott steered the show, and Chris was the perfect person to have alongside him.    I don’t religiously listen to Rylan’s show, but when I do catch it, it’s perfect weekend energy. He has a very warm presenting style too, but something makes me think he and Scott together every day would be a bit too much.
    • So pleased for Scott on his best entertainment show win. As much as I miss his R1 style, he clearly puts so much into his shows, well deserved and it’s a big two fingers up to all the abuse he has had since joining R2
