sounds like it has been a credit crunch saver putting it in swindon this year. don't see what is wrong with the logo but it looks a bit compressed on the website :)

Yeah, i'd noticed that too. Compared to last years logo I just dont think it looks very with the times. It looks like a 2 year old has gone in photoshop, found the first font and found out the 'stroke' and 'drop shadow' feature.

Also, the colours are abit plain compared to previous logos. They should have done an italic blue/gradient blue.

And...dont even get me started on the navigation. It looks like some terd has created it in dreamweaver or something sh*t like that...

Personally I think the logo isn't bad.

It's the use of the font and compression elsewhere in the header.

If I recall last year they used the 2007 site template for the announcement and then launched a new mini-site upon the bands being announced.

Swindon, great. In the south AGAIN! To please their London staff I suppose. They might as well just hold it in Hype Park next year, atleast more people will be able to attend then!

I think it's more to do with keeping it cheap in these financially difficult times as opposed to keeping the staff happy. I doubt they are any less indifferent about being able to stay at home as having a hotel to stay in.

I think the Big Weekend has always been about taking the gig to somewhere that doesn't get a look in for live music. Holding it in Hyde Park would make the event like any other.

Swindon, great. In the south AGAIN!

Pretty much exactly what I was thinking. Personally I think it would be a lot better if they alternated between the north and south, that way more people would actually stand a chance of going.

So save the last dance

I <3 big weekend. Whether I get tickets or not it's amarzing. I watched pretty much all the programmes on it and almost all the red button shows. The best bit of radio I've heard was the improvised show just after the big weekend with Scott Edith and Grimmy.
