    • Oh god, yeah Flirt Divert, absolutely loved that. And I remember Barryoke fondly. I was such a casual listener back then but those features always spring to mind. its been good to come on here and chat and it was here I thought of first when the news broke on Monday. Completely agree, having Greg back next week will provide a lot of stability. He’s been really missed. I feel we had that amazing week of radio with Greg doing his challenge and then it’s all came crashing down with the news this week.   Greg’s been in a similar situation before, although slightly different; when Gregg Wallace was suspended/sacked. All the Gregg Wallace clips gone, no mentions of him anymore and it being reported on Newsbeat by Calum Leslie too.  Definitely remember the good times. Dean played Majestic by Boney M on Ten Minute Takeover yesterday and it instantly makes me think on Scott when he played his extended version.
    • Well said, and yes it just best to remember the good times, and having Greg back will be very welcome, I am going back to R1 now for breakfast..... not that I ever left but did have Scott on. The advantage of being on air from 10, if I was ever going in live (which is rarethese days because of work commitments) I would have Scott's last half hour on in the car hear the hand over to vernon, then listen to Greg for a bit before walking in to be greeted by a former Radio 1 Breakfast presenter who does the breakfast show at my station now.
    • It has been a very difficult week to week to digest. It has made me really appreciate this forum and what a respectful community there is here.  It's been a big help to have this corner of the internet for sharing and hearing how other people are feeling about it all. Like others, I have been listening to Scott since I was a teenager, the Flirt Divert days. I agree that having Greg back next week will bring some real feeling of stability back to a very strange week on the radio.  Dean did a fantastic job last week I thought, whenever I tuned in to him there was warmth and laughter.  Others sounded like they were struggling themselves, which is totally understandable. This evening I have been listening back to podcasts from the Radio 1 days and genuinely laughing out loud at Scott and Chris. Remembering the good times.
    • I don't doubt he is, he has many friends in the radio industry who will be supporting him, including the likes of Greg, Zoe, Sara, etc. Personally I can't wait for our frined Greg to be back on Tuesday, need stability and hearing Greg will be that. Yes Gary is good, Dean was ok last week, but Greg back is what we all need I feel, I sent him a DM last week. He did not reply as one would expect. But still.
    • Completely agree. It’s been a hard, hard week for all involved. I’ve said it so much that i feel knocked for six and I really do. I turn 40 next week and have listened to Scott on and off for 25 years (steadily from 2018 to him leaving Radio 2 afternoons and on and off prior to 2018 - j listened when I could), it has felt like having the rug pulled beneath me and then I tell myself that I don’t know him personally.    I’m not sure that we will ever find out the full story but I do hope that he’s able to put his side across in time. It may take a few years, it might not happen at all.  I do hope he’s being well supported by his family and friends around him.
    • So there are lots of feelings and things to consider with this case and the wave of consequences it has made.  I was saying about Sara.... Imagine the turmiol she will have to deal with knowing this is the way she got the breakfast gig, because of this story. Imagine the turmoil of OJ who likely gets drive, again "yes I got the 2nd on the grid slot only because of...... " I really feel for the innocent parties though, I never took to Ellie Brennan but I think she has done a really outstanding job on air this week with Gary in what must be one of the most awkard weeks of their careers. Tina is coming back into this next week? and potentially having to report on it, if BBC news decide it is to be covered still (remember she works for BBC news not Radio 2 as does Ellie?).  Gary has been slagged off for dropping features and being "Gary" but he has done what any PD would expect, steered the ship through the rough sea. remember he was at R1 when the DLT crisis happened, when Wright failed at breakfast, and more, so this is one of those times for him, one of those times he has had experience of in the past, I would say just the right man to steer it through.  I know collegues of Steve Wright said him being pushed off of afternoons was the end of him, maybe it was, the haters all blamed Scott for that as well, when Scott was simply offered a new job, and took it, if you were Scott at R1 for 25 years and the PD of Radio 2 comes in and says, hey.. you don't say fuck off... and I might add R1 offered Scott another two year deal in 2022 to stop him moving and he ultimately decided he wanted to.  So all of this is a very sad culmination for all involved, very sad, Scott who was just getting started at Breakfast, really, moulding Ellie into the Stark role, knowing if they brought some of his games to life she would be the other player.  Spare a thought for organsiations as well affected by this, minor, but Welcome Break decided to remove the named bridge, charities have dissacoiated from him already, he (I read today) is likely to loose his docterate, with more affiliations more than likely to come who will announce his removal. Not pleasent for anyone involved.  Spare a thought for Chris Stark, a man who would not be where he is today without Scott Mills, Jordan North, another man whom Scott mentored, and got into Radio 1, Chris Moyles, someone who worked with Scott closely. All having to be on air and not mention it, no doubt Moyles, Dom, Mistajam, Pippa, Jordan have been in the kitchen in Leicester Square discussing it. But still, Chris Stark, very awakrd for him at the moment.  Greg James - someone else Moyles and Mills mentored in his early days at R1, someone who idolised Mills and wanted to be like him, having to come back on air Tuesday and do his "fun" show with this happening, and potentially being reported on by Callum Leslie on his news updates. Greg will probbly be told to say nothing, which is why I expect Moyles has not mentioned it on his show, its live, its potentially a case legally if you say anything so let the news do it.  You have to think of all of these people directly, or indirectly affected by this event. Far more affected than a few of us having a moan threatening to boycott the BBC.  I simply hope for the following for all involved; The fire burns down to embers, and out, Scott is able to live the rest of his life in peace with Sam and Teddy, with the hope of coming back on air one day. The complainant is appeased and gets compensated for their suffering.  I hope one day, Scott is able to tell his side of the story, but for now we have to (and yes I know this is a bitter pill to swallow) accept the fact we will not hear from Scott, the BBC, or anyone else on it.
