Four more sleeps before The Mighty Boosh Live, five more sleeps before we all go out for my birthday, six more sleeps before I go home and eight more sleeps before I see all my old Spar crew for the night out :)

That show is amazing! I loved it when i went to see them in Blackpool, have an awesome time!

I was in bed by midnight and got up at 9:30. It's the most normal night's sleep I've had in months.

One of my housemates is at home and the other 3 have gone on a field trip to Skegness of all places, so I have a free house today. Hopefully I'll get plenty of essay done.

Went out for a really long walk this morning to take pics of the snow around Temple Newsam. Absolutely beautiful. I have very rosy cheeks now as a result. Got a great pic of swan and a squirrel too, not together unfortunately.

Came home to find a parcel for me, always a good thing - I love parcels. Opened it, and found a DVD of Fonejacker series 2 and a note from Channel 4 saying 'Natalie, Congratulations! Regards, 4DVD'. How bizarre? I'm completely baffled as to how they know who I am, or where I live, but as I adore Fonejacker, I'm chuffed to bits.

Dammit! I should've kept this information to myself and given it the the Boyf as a Christmas pressie.

Oh well. Good day so far.:D

Might start thinking about popping up some decorations soon.

Snow, lots of it. In Flensburg anyway.

But what rocks even more than the snow itself is seeing how amazed our Italian exchange student is. She has never ever (apart from a tiny little bit last weekend) seen snow in real life. And all of a sudden there's lots of it. She just kept saying: "It's so beautiful!" :)

Going out tonight, yay.

Never mind that I haven't done the essay or basically anything else, I've managed to go to every lecture this week which is an achievement in itself. Haven't had a proper night out in 9 days so it should be pretty good. 2 days till [spunge], meal out for housemate's birthday on Sunday, 4 days till The Hold Steady, then a Campus 14 (bar crawl) on wednesday, another bar crawl on Friday, Stereophonics saturday, then Black Stone Cherry (country rock band my friend wants to see) on sunday 14th. Busy busy times...

Soooo many things rock in my life.

1. I had an AMAZING weekend in London with my two best friends - we had a cheese and wine party with an actual cheese board (only 'cause Scott suggested it ;)), we went to Fabric and then just slept for the WHOLE day. I can't wait to see them again.

2. The week of death has ended.

3. I had my final seminar today and even though I am going to miss my seminar leader A LOT it's still good to have some time off.

4. I had my moot today - I had been working on it for two weeks and it's such a waste of time but I don't have to worry about it anymore :) AND I won the moot even though there were no cases supporting my side and my junior didn't turn up so it was 2-1. The judges slaughtered us with questions but they said it was the best moot they'd heard this week (they didn't do all the moots this weeks, just a couple, but still). And they said they were very impressed with the content of my argument ;)

5. I'm going home in exactly a week!!!

6. I can finally relax tonight - wich means boyfriend, dvd, wine and food :)

7. My boyfriend and I are going shopping tomorrow.

8. If I can get some time off uni in January my dad is taking me and my brother snowboarding

yay :)

Unbelievably I managed to get a 'mention tres bien' - a total mark of 18/20 (everything's marked out of 20 here, god knows why) - in last Monday's horrible lit exam, despite my probably atrocious French and terrible handwriting as I was having to rush to get it finished. I still can't quite believe it, I was standing there staring at the piece of paper with everyone's marks on for about 10 minutes, I still think they must have confused my paper with someone else's, haha. So I guess even if I fail the rest I'll have that one good mark :D

So save the last dance

Congratulations Helen :) I'm glad there's a silver lining to the problems you've been having in Strasbourg.

I went to a social event earlier for 'course reps', basically, my housemate and I go to 3 meetings a year in our department where we discuss things that could be improved on the course. We didn't really talk to anyone elese at the social event, everyone there was just talking to their friends, and the SU people were very drunk. Got free wine and mince pies though, so definitely worth it, then went to the library and did some slightly tipsy photocopying.

    • There was talk on my Big Weekend group from the council about them waiting for Ticketmaster to send an email out. They said they've been waiting a week. Maybe they're waiting for train strike confirmation first.
    • It’s on Saturday and Friday that week too. I guess this would make sense, as it gives them roughly 6 weeks off weekends until they start the new show?
    • Yeah he's on more than usual including this Sunday and then 3 more shows in May according to the above. Makes me think it's James for the weekend shows also
    • For some reason there is 'Summer on Radio 1' listed on Sunday 2nd June, could this be replacing M&M until July?
    • They seem to be using James more for cover now makes me think it will be him getting weekends eitjer breakfast or 1 till 4
    • Yep am very much Capital Breakfast now. Jordan, Chris and Sian are a great trio and it's got that feel of the old shows Jordan and Chris used to do on Radio 1. It doesn't take itself too seriously but is packed full of content and slick. With Greg he's great but 6 years in you've probably heard it all before plus frankly I can sit through the Capital Playlist a lot more easily than the Radio 1 playlist (where some of the inclusions and omissions can be quite baffling at times). Plus after things like the Oscars or Met Gala or if there's a particularly big TV show or film or popstar then Greg won't half wang on about it at times. I guess it's partly to be expected with it being a Breakfast show on a young station but it can feel very London bubble and get tired.
    • Ore Olukoga is in for Arielle on Tuesday 14th May. James Cusack is in for Danny Beard on Saturday 1st June. James Cusack is in for Nat on Sunday 2nd June.
    • I honestly never thought in a million years I’d move from Radio 1 to be a regular Capital breakfast show listener. But it’s got pretty much everything I want - 3 really genuine, entertaining mates having a laugh, playing silly games and it all sounds great. I became a big fan of Chris from his days with Scott, became a Jordan fan on Going Home, and Sian Welby is newer to me but is loads of fun too.  It’s great and I’ve shocked myself by transferring my listening at breakfast. For me Greg’s show now feels very tired and it’s time for something new. But with Jordan gone that’s unlikely to happen anytime soon. Greg’s had a great run and I’m a fan - but there’s no new ideas now. I still listen to Radio 1 at other times - but this show feels like very serious competition for Greg.
    • They have built four new studios to increase capacity, alongside the existing six.  Bearing in mind that some of the output of R1, 1X, R2 & 6M comes from elsewhere, and Asian Network is gradually moving all output to Birmingham, this should be enough!
    • How do they manage to cater for 6Music and Radio 2 on that floor? Did they adapt it?
    • I think we've all figured out now how much you like it @AndyK77 😂 Personally while I think it's by far the best show on the Capital schedule and better than its predecessor, it still has the shortened songs and other commercial-radio aspects that remind me why I'm a Radio 1 fan. No matter how well this has worked out for Jordan, and all credit to him for landing the job, I can't help but feel that a Jordan and Katie show on R1 breakfast would have been so much better!
    • A few weeks in and I am actually loving the show and Jordan is a nice mix of his old chaotic self and dare I say it a slick jock.
    • He must be in his element. At Eurovision and a Gold award!
    • I really like Rylan, and as much of a fun idea it would be to have Scott and Rylan together, I think Rylan is too much of a main character.  Scott needs a side-kick rather than a full on co-host I think. That’s why he and Chris worked so well, Scott steered the show, and Chris was the perfect person to have alongside him.    I don’t religiously listen to Rylan’s show, but when I do catch it, it’s perfect weekend energy. He has a very warm presenting style too, but something makes me think he and Scott together every day would be a bit too much.
    • So pleased for Scott on his best entertainment show win. As much as I miss his R1 style, he clearly puts so much into his shows, well deserved and it’s a big two fingers up to all the abuse he has had since joining R2
