Doing a three day music event doesn't really compare to doing a five days a week radio show. Not really an issue I wouldn't have thought. Anyway, she's entitled to maternity leave, so even if someone did object, there's nothing they could do about it.

Since when? No one is forcing her to do anything apart from sit in a TV studio for three nights.

You didn't make a hoo-har about Sara Cox presenting the Album Chart Show on Channel 4 right up until her pregnancy, even though she'd finished Radio 1 two months beforehand.

I think Edith is going to do whatever she wants to do, regardless of whether anybody else thinks its a good idea or not!

Is any of this anything but pure speculation? For all we know she might choose to be away for months? Myleene klass was due to be presnting the one show after her baby and she pulled out at the last minute, (and presented everything else going!)

Thats why it would be nice to get something official...rather than just guessing.

No information from the press office yet, although it would seem there will be some sort of announcement suggesting she is leaving for the baby.

Why on earth are they leaving it so late to announce anything? When someone at work went on pregnancy leave recently we knew her leaving date a couple of months in advance?

Edith is obviously extremely pregnant, due really soon and most people get really excited and supportive about a brand new baby!

I dont think there is any way she can give birth without anyone noticing! Cant she let everyone else share her good news?

Edith said that news week she will be doing a dj battle or something with Zane, as she said she had some records to sort out & decide what to play.

so when she will leave ? i think the only person who does know is Edith herself as she hasn't really slowed down yet & just sounds like she did before she got pregnant, she did say when she announced she was pregnant that most pregnant people are treated as if they have a illness, so she wants to carry on as long as she can i think.

That's not really difficult... it's just a five or ten minute bit on Zane's show. She only has to speak really.

Maybe the deal is that they were waiting for her to announce it live on air? Then the press office will follow her lead.

Both Sara and Jo announced their pregnancies live on air before the press release, and i think it sounds better to tell her regular listeners first!

Our RS teacher went on maternity leave and 2 days later she had the baby.

3 weeks is a lot more than that if you look at it in that perspective.

I'm not sure I'd believe that - I would have thought it would be standard to keep her name in the press until an announcement is made.
