Heaven help whoever might be covering Greg on Monday if he isn’t feeling better, can’t imagine it’ll be normal service resumed on the texts.
Least the bosses know they’ll get some high numbers at 15:30 with everyone listening to what (if anything) is going to get said

Kind of crazy this all went down when Greg was off.  I've heard they're awfully close.

Sources that be seem to think that Roman will be announcing his departure on Monday, presumably during the show so that it’ll be cleared up by 3.30.

you can’t blame either party really, if you’re the BBC you obviously don’t want to give a platform to the presenter who’s gonna be presenting your rival’s main show in a few weeks And you can’t blame Jordan because presumably he’s got himself a nice new pay packet (even if he’s sold out a bit..!).

I can’t believe he’s been dropped from the schedules. At least give him one last show!!

Its standard conflict of interest management

The Beeb will not want him building following more before he leaves and he is going into direct competition with Greg

With Scott it was slightly different as he was staying internally however he did not once promote the fact he would be on R2 while he was still on R1

Yet now he is on R2 he often mentions stuff from R1 days and iroinically now uses his old 82A studio

Can assume that the tabloids will probably trying to work to get a scoop from the BBC about his rushed exit before thThe end of the month. Can imagine it will be another P.R muck-up and something that online news sources will work to capitalise on.

Not when there has been no official release about his next job and hasn’t started a promotional campaign for a rival network. He was still pressed to work until early march and has been personally quiet. So he’s yet to promote any move if they weren’t going to allow him to continue doing his show why did they include it in the press announcement.

Yeah I imagine Jordan is probably on what is the equivalent of “garden leave” now. May well have kept it quiet until he handed in his notice this week which wouldn’t have given much time to manage leaving. Don’t blame him at all - he’ll be paid his worth at Capital. This is huge for him but can see why it would not have gone down well with BBC bosses.

I predict Katie and Vick all next week

Katie’s on holiday next week so I suspect it will be Vick solo who’s left to deal with it (unless they stick Arielle or Nat on with her).

it’s not like they’ll be mentioning him, especially as it’s Mega Massive Mondays.

If he was on gardening leave I don’t know why it was announced in the press release that he was staying on.

Cant imagine show as they never address the elephant in the room after someone has been dropped from the schedule.

Would also make sense with that team meal they posted on Instagram stories yesterday. it was a running thing on the show that they never get round to meeting up outside of the show; sure it was Jordan’s birthday this week but they did gifts live on the show, so combined as a leaving meal too perhaps?

As I said earlier (I am a radio professional and know these things) he will be bound by an NDA about the new job so cannot comment. The Beeb would have put him on Gardening leave immediately as his new role is a conflict of interest.

Unles I’ve missed something, I’m not sure they did say he was staying on in the release? Jamie comes in on the 4th but doesn’t give any mention to Jordan’s last show (albeit if it was yesterday or if is in the future, which doesn’t look likely based on schedules)

You can't imagine the dinner wasn't linked to his departure.  He isn't the sort of guy that wouldn't have told them.

But seems to be a P.R mess up if they stated that only a few hours ago when they announced that he was to leave and his last show would air early march. They should’ve pre-determined any conflict of interests if there were any ahead of the P.R public statement. If the BBC knowingly released the statement at the time that he had presented his last show after an agreed conflict of interest the statement should’ve reflected that he had already presented his last show which is uncommon from any press release. The fact is they seemed to falsely state a conflict in decision making.

    • Bank Holiday Monday Schedule 6am-10am: Arielle Free in for Greg 10am-2pm: Dean & Vicky (No Rickie, Melvin & Charlie) 2pm-6pm: Vick & Jamie (No Katie) 6pm onwards: As normal.
    • Dare I say they've sounded great this past week?  Very much gelling.  Maybe less pressure?  Seem to be having a genuinely good time and not forcing things.
    • I'm in the minority in my workplace, most of them love country music.  Me, the American, does not care for it.  That said, I haven't haaaaaated some of the country adjacent stuff that's been on the R1 playlist.
    • The Eurovision semi finals are on from 8 to 10pm on Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th May with Richie Anderson. That means Sara Cox in on till 8 on those days.  Saturday 11th May is Eurovision 'Super Saturday... 1-3pm Your Ultimate Abba song with Gary Davies  3-6pm Michelle Visage's Eurovision All Stars 6-8pm Eurovision Request Party with Owain Wynn Evans 8pm Eurovision Grand Final with Scott Mills and Rylan Clark
    • It is funny because everyone thought Matt was on the way out, now he's been described as the heir to Mills.
    • Some similar names to Big Weekend.  Sabrina Carpenter, David Guetta, Perrie, Bradley Simpson, Jax Jones, Caity Baser, Benson Boone, Rudimental. David Guetta is a good name.
    • Still Scott for me. I'm not too much into the 70s and 80s radio 2 play but do love the injection of 90s and 00s. Then Radio 2 push for all this country stuff and it not a UK thing, and I frankly don't like it. Scott's show as in features, hit and miss. I like the music police bit, but it feels like someone needs to join him. It's a shame Chappers is so busy with sports, as it feels like it could do with someone like him jumping on to help. Or a new partner. Radio 1, take or leave. Matt and Mollie are OK from what I've heard and share a good connection, but it's the playlist that throws me off. They could bring back Chris Moyles to do that show, but as soon as something like Headie One comes on with that casino keyboard produced crap. It would still be switched off from me.
    • Reading through this thread, I don't feel quite so alone now, in thinking that Scott Mills on R2 is not a good 'fit' (even less so than on R5).  I can't quite explain why this is so - I just know it to be so.
    • Arielle has been on holiday for the last 2 weeks getting married / honeymoon.  It'll be live from this week onwards.
    • CassKidd is in for Sian on Sunday 5th May.
    • The brought to tiers feature was also very good from them. I did wonder which DJ's were going to get picked out of the hat, that could have gone one way or the other and the caller said they were very opinionated lol. Correct decision putting katie in god tier!
    • The extended Dua Lipa track from M&M was very funny. I'm hoping Matt and Mollie and Scott have a good relationship a bit like Greg and Zoe collaborate on-air sometimes.
    • Gary Davies in for Vernon Kay tomorrow (Monday 29th April).
    • When Scott and Chris announced their departure from R1, I remember there was lots of speculation about who would take over the 1pm slot. Matt and Mollie were talked about a lot on here, and at the time I really didn't rate them as a replacement. A few years on, I see that I was totally wrong. They are such a good pairing, and it's the same kind of duo as Scott and Chris, in that they are real life friends, who spend time together in their real lives, which really does come across on air. True friends having a laugh together, and everyone is invited is how it feels to me now. I never thought about it before, but I agree with @coffeeandgin that Mollie is the Scott of the duo - pop obsessed and maybe a litte ditsy, but so funny, and in need of someone to anchor to or bounce off.  It seems that Matt is the kind of Chris of the duo then in that comparison, the one with the ideas, but also needs another person to make the magic happen. I know I'm outside of the R1 demographic, and maybe Dean and Vicky were meant to be younger and fresher, but I'm sure in my younger years I would have preferred to listen to two people who had a genuine connection and could really make each other laugh, as well as have the listeners laugh along. That was the Scott and Chris factor for me, and I think the only pair that come close to that now are Matt and Mollie.
