My passport finally came, only 7 months until New York! :D

It's been really hot today too :)

I'm still bored and want to start college haha!

Me too, soo bored I said to my boss today "I know its silly and its only July but im so bored" The EMA people sent my form back again today cos they wanted to know whether Im male or female, i mean come on doesnt the name "Emma" give it away! And apparently according to my mother we've had people outside our house today like different people looking at it with estate agent brochures, its not even on the market yet and we've only had it valued, so we reckon one of thems said "Oh well we have this property comeing on the market" even though we havent decided who we're selling it with yet! *is worried that they have done that and want to sell our house and think they are"*

Urgh, activities day today was just appauling. I had to do a geoggers quiz, but our team came second to a team of really big headed boys who got given the "advantage" in every round. We were only three points behind and so would have won otherwise. Then after lunch we had to play rounders in tutor groups and we lost quite badly, I'm so glad there's only four lessons of this year left to go.

I just cut my foot open on a screw that was sticking out of a piece of furniture which is missing its knob. I feel silly and it hurts. I hope I can walk to the shops in the morning to get Harry Potter, after that it's all good and I can stay in bed for the rest of the weekend.

Last night was fun (apart from Dumbledore's wandering hand), I was right at the front of a queue that snaked round the whole shop, it must have been about 500 people strong. I've finished the book now, it's got a pretty satisfying ending, but now I don't know what to do with myself.

I saw the sun rising at about quarter past five, it looks like a really nice summer morning. And we've broken up from school - all is good in the world.

I had a good night,

I went to bed to get away from that stupid Harry Potter.

I hope he does die, to shut everyone up about him.

Not to be miserable, but in the past few weeks all I've heard is Harry Potter and Spiderpig. Yes, ok spiderpig was funny first time, but 100 times later it is more annoying than [something annoyin]

Now there's a a story to sell to the News of the World "I was groped by dumbeldore". So was it worth the 8 year wait for the conclusion. The movie wasn't to bad last night and even a hardened potter cynic like myself has to commend something which has turned a generation onto reading.

    • Bank Holiday Monday Schedule 6am-10am: Arielle Free in for Greg 10am-2pm: Dean & Vicky (No Rickie, Melvin & Charlie) 2pm-6pm: Vick & Jamie (No Katie) 6pm onwards: As normal.
    • Dare I say they've sounded great this past week?  Very much gelling.  Maybe less pressure?  Seem to be having a genuinely good time and not forcing things.
    • I'm in the minority in my workplace, most of them love country music.  Me, the American, does not care for it.  That said, I haven't haaaaaated some of the country adjacent stuff that's been on the R1 playlist.
    • The Eurovision semi finals are on from 8 to 10pm on Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th May with Richie Anderson. That means Sara Cox in on till 8 on those days.  Saturday 11th May is Eurovision 'Super Saturday... 1-3pm Your Ultimate Abba song with Gary Davies  3-6pm Michelle Visage's Eurovision All Stars 6-8pm Eurovision Request Party with Owain Wynn Evans 8pm Eurovision Grand Final with Scott Mills and Rylan Clark
    • It is funny because everyone thought Matt was on the way out, now he's been described as the heir to Mills.
    • Some similar names to Big Weekend.  Sabrina Carpenter, David Guetta, Perrie, Bradley Simpson, Jax Jones, Caity Baser, Benson Boone, Rudimental. David Guetta is a good name.
    • Still Scott for me. I'm not too much into the 70s and 80s radio 2 play but do love the injection of 90s and 00s. Then Radio 2 push for all this country stuff and it not a UK thing, and I frankly don't like it. Scott's show as in features, hit and miss. I like the music police bit, but it feels like someone needs to join him. It's a shame Chappers is so busy with sports, as it feels like it could do with someone like him jumping on to help. Or a new partner. Radio 1, take or leave. Matt and Mollie are OK from what I've heard and share a good connection, but it's the playlist that throws me off. They could bring back Chris Moyles to do that show, but as soon as something like Headie One comes on with that casino keyboard produced crap. It would still be switched off from me.
    • Reading through this thread, I don't feel quite so alone now, in thinking that Scott Mills on R2 is not a good 'fit' (even less so than on R5).  I can't quite explain why this is so - I just know it to be so.
    • Arielle has been on holiday for the last 2 weeks getting married / honeymoon.  It'll be live from this week onwards.
    • CassKidd is in for Sian on Sunday 5th May.
    • The brought to tiers feature was also very good from them. I did wonder which DJ's were going to get picked out of the hat, that could have gone one way or the other and the caller said they were very opinionated lol. Correct decision putting katie in god tier!
    • The extended Dua Lipa track from M&M was very funny. I'm hoping Matt and Mollie and Scott have a good relationship a bit like Greg and Zoe collaborate on-air sometimes.
    • Gary Davies in for Vernon Kay tomorrow (Monday 29th April).
    • When Scott and Chris announced their departure from R1, I remember there was lots of speculation about who would take over the 1pm slot. Matt and Mollie were talked about a lot on here, and at the time I really didn't rate them as a replacement. A few years on, I see that I was totally wrong. They are such a good pairing, and it's the same kind of duo as Scott and Chris, in that they are real life friends, who spend time together in their real lives, which really does come across on air. True friends having a laugh together, and everyone is invited is how it feels to me now. I never thought about it before, but I agree with @coffeeandgin that Mollie is the Scott of the duo - pop obsessed and maybe a litte ditsy, but so funny, and in need of someone to anchor to or bounce off.  It seems that Matt is the kind of Chris of the duo then in that comparison, the one with the ideas, but also needs another person to make the magic happen. I know I'm outside of the R1 demographic, and maybe Dean and Vicky were meant to be younger and fresher, but I'm sure in my younger years I would have preferred to listen to two people who had a genuine connection and could really make each other laugh, as well as have the listeners laugh along. That was the Scott and Chris factor for me, and I think the only pair that come close to that now are Matt and Mollie.
