There isn't a lot else going in the sport department really. Andy May was instantly my first thought. Unless Jules returned in a bizarre twist of events. I was thinking David Garrido if not, but I dare say they would rather keep him presenting the main Newsbeat shows.

I thought Andy was quite good while Carrie was away - Bristol showed how he could take a joke with the team, and they obviously dont hate him.

Does Chris want a lady sportsreader in the morning though to keep the balance.

Andy is the bloke who is often seen on 60 seconds on BBC Three, and writes the sports news on 1Xtra in the afternoons.

Andy is the obvious choice, unless they are specifically after a female, in which case Alison Mitchell could be an option. Another possibility is the weekend breakfast sports reader Jamie Braughton.

I have noticed Andy popping up alot on Final score as a reporter a bit and also doing the football league show voice over.

I liked him when he was on earlier in the year with both Chris & Vernon.
