Oh no I absolutely love it, I thoroughly hate children and want to drive the bus into a wall in the mornings when I'm turned into a glorified school bus. If I had my way us adults who want nothing to do with them should be able to have adult only transport, parks, cinema, restaurants etc, leaving us able to enjoy a completely child free environment to live in :D

My English teacher's pregnant! I cannot literally wait for her to leave. Already asked twice to move set, but apparently am not allowed. The baby's not born till summer though, so that's annoying. I just hope she leaves early and never comes back.

Does anyone know the average time teachers stay on maternity leave?

I think I'd be pretty unlucky, actually. If get anything other than two A*s, it's her fault. (That's me being extraordinarily dramatic.)

Surely if you're going to the coast there's um... a great big swimming 'pool' right there? and on that side of Scotland it'll get the Atlantic Drift and therefore it'll be warmer than it is in say, costa del Skeggy

STUG are AMEZZIN'. Definitely rocking my life right now. Although they may never happen… (I'm talking about Ste and Doug off of Hollyoaks for those if you out of the loop.)

And I had parents' evening last night, which went surprisingly well, so feeling more positive today. :)

my grandad got out of hospital yesterday and i went to see them at home tonight. the operation he was saying was a risk, he had to sign forms incase it went wrong. they went into his heart through his arm, cleared out the blocked artery and opened up the collapsed one with some type of baloon device. he was awake when they did it, and they could see on the screen where to go, apsolutley amazing really.

it will take a few weeks for him to recover, he gets tired easily but he's walking about as much as he can trying to get his fitness back up. i'm just glad he's on the mend really.

on the grid.

Really glad to hear it, DC. Fingers crossed for him.

Every once in a while I'll get someone at work who makes my day. Today I experienced 1 of those people.

Old woman bumps into a blind man getting off the bus and says to him "sorry, didn't see you there". I knew he was blind as he had asked for a shout when we got to his stop, so my immediate thought was that this could end badly. So anyways the man gets off followed by his companion who I assume was some sort of carer or assistant, but before she gets off she leans into my cab with a smile on her face and says "funnily enough he didn't see you either". It'll have been said a million times before today but it certainly cheered me up on an otherwise long day.

Off work till next Sunday now, thought about asking for some overtime but I could do with the break. Today was rather stressful, at one point I was growling and ranting about impatient people blocking the road, fortunately there was nobody on board to hear it.

Had an amazing time with the Greg James and Scott Mills team last week and had some lovely nights out with some lovely people too. It's made me consider a job in London now.

    • Since Radio 1 Dance and Anthems have been allowed to broadcast on DAB, do we think they’ll be a proper schedule of shows like on Radio 1 Dance with the morning show and Dance Anthems at drive time. Maybe Lauren Redfern, Tyler Selby, Chrissy Cameron or Matt Hallsworth will be scheduled on named shows like Hits Radio 00s or Capital Anthems rather than the generic ‘Radio 1 Anthems’ show. Obviously it would probably cost more to produce actual shows on the station however.
    • There's been a lot of positive reaction to the Mylo and Rosie news so am interested now to hear what their shows are like. And yep wouldn't be surprised if they stay on beyond July as cover ever so often. And that Friday-Sunday news was hidden in the small print a little. It presumably means we lose Party Anthems all that month as that is what has happened this year with Big Weekend, Glasto for example. I certainly I hope it isn't Party Anthems being quietly axed full stop - it and Future Pop are 2 real hidden gems on Radio 1.
    • I’m pleased for Mylo and Rosie, they were highly thought of in our local area and definitely worthy of that slot
    • I’m thinking the same redding and Leeds etc
    • -Considering how little Jamie has appeared since Vick went off on maternity, it probably would've been more sensible to have Sam & Danni taking over from that point and have him return with Katie. - Mylo and Rosie are apparently very good and one of the more popular local presenters who lost their slot when Hits went fully national. I gather they are very popular in Yorkshire. I can see them definitely see them popping up again beyond this stint. -Life Hacks cover is yet another good opportunity for some new voices (I know Yinka has popped up in the past). I have enjoyed Pete Allison covering though. I'm assuming most of August's Friday to Sunday 1-4pm will be made up of festival coverage.
    • - Jamie Laing will take a break from Going Home from 28th July. Sam and Danni will cover. - Greg James will host his show until 11am from 21st July (Monday to Thursday only). - Mylo and Rosie, who previously hosted Hits Radio Breakfast in West Yorkshire, will host Friday EB in July. - Charley Marlowe of TikTok fame will host Friday EB in August. - Tskenya Frazer will host Life Hacks with Lauren Layfield in July, whilst Yinka Bikinni will host with Lauren in August. - Jamie Laing and Katie Thistleton will return to Going Home in September.
    • @eddemundo Thank you 👏🏼 👏🏼 That took some listening on Sounds to get that
