Helium is running out!

The enitre universe is 25% helium how can we be running out?

Helium is the second most abundant element in the universe (about one in every 10 atoms is helium) but it move so quickly that atoms are difficult to capture. Instead the main source of helium are deposits in rocks. However consuption is increasing on average between 5 and 10% every year and deposits in rocks are becoming increasingly scarse so it is possible that unless new sources of the gas are found we will soon run out. This could cause major problems as helium is used in a number of things including cooling the magnets in MRI scanners to produce an intense magnetic field and as a cooling medium in nuclear reactors.

Sorry for the essay reply buy im bored and have already done some research into this as part of a university group.

rocket, nibbly food and WINE!

But joking aside, doesn't anyone find it slightly worrying that we are going to run out of an element off of the periodic table? It isn't just Asda running out of baked beans.

Who knows? Helium COULD (along with dodo feathers) be a vital component in the discovery for the cure for cancer, etc.? :?:
