I think this student anthems thing was amusing when Greg did it at the end of term but I think it will grate by Friday morning.

Yeah I think it runs the risk of people turning on at prime radio listening time going “what’s this racket” and turning it off. Maybe not the best slot to put it in.

Going back to what some were commenting on yesterday - this hour of requests at 7.30am is a bit jarring  not sure they should have made it a week long thing

I definitely think they have been toned down after the first day - less silly stuff and more things that you would hear on Radio 1 at some point (e.g. R1 Anthems or Dance Anthems)

I like the idea of it. I remember bank holidays and the takeovers that used to happen back in the day, Chappers and Dave were on once playing all sorts of stuff. Also, it gives Radio 1 a chance to see what their demographic know of music that could be older than 5 years.
