isn’t part of the reason for the current dance anthems format due to the whole R1 dance stream situation as they need to have a legally different format to the competition, or am I just making that up?

the current dance anthems format of splitting the hours up into 1 hour blocks over three hours has always been there since Danny left and MistaJam took over. Honestly dont think it would make much difference either way. Regardless theres been push back and challenge of it as it is now @radio1fan

Ha flick over just now. Sure they could just have them as audio doubles so when Katie and or Vick are ill or on holiday they could still claim to be on radio. It must be a delight when you find two presenters who just fit together being paired up for first time going on air. @TheSaviourisHere

Tbf to them they have sounded decent. So much better than an Anthems show

Benefit of having a production company (Audio Always) as well as a pre-prepared programme with plenty of content, but they're both good presenters too!

Pretty sure I read either on here or elsewhere that they're dropping it for 2023 at least.

Yes heard that it maybe something that may work in a biannual every two year set up. January 2024 could possibly be the next time where a major change happens. And maybe cost effective thing not to do it every year@NathanS

As much as I am not totally sure I get the idea of Radio 1 Happy, Katie Thistleton, James Cusack and Robyn Richford have been refreshing today compared to the Anthems endurance test over Christmas. Also did anybody note Joe Mitchell is Friday Early breakfast in January? He last did it in Jan 2021

I mentioned that on Schedule Changes when it was first put up. It’s like the whole rotation has come full circle and started again. Because he was the first ever one

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
