Eddie from Art Brut was quite insistant that we should all start bands. The indie scene is already flooded though. I think I'll keep on with the degree....

I went to see Art Brut once. I didnt know much about them when i went, but i was suitably blown away! Yeah, i think hes always quite insistant lol. I was actually convinced myself that i would start a band.

I liked how when he played Emily Kane, he made a joke about Jay-Z's 'misogenistic language' but said he'd got over Emily Kane now and advised everyone to let go of their exes.

I'm listening to Maximo Park now. Bits of all their songs have been in my head all day and I can't stop listening to their albums.

I feel a bit cheated, I swear the speakers or something was broken, and it was just muffled. Mind you I wasn't far from the speaker, but I've been to many gigs and it's come out clearer then that. I will investigate.

Bar that though it was good. I was centre-front, but during the support (who everyone seemed to know bar me!) I felt so small and had to make a break for it to the side. And got a perfect view :D

Hehe, I did that at Fratellis and got a perfect view too. Plus, I didn't get crushed, or break any bones like I might've done if I'd stayed where I was before.

:( I feel sorry for you now. Things do sound differently depending on where you stand though, so it could've just been that. Did anyone else notice?

Was there only one support act? Not that you missed out on much with the first one...

No there were two. One I can't remember the name of, but they didn't sing at all. I've asked on the UEA forum whether it was just me, but I'm sure it wasn't as everyone in the area I stood either didn't know the lyrics or just couldn't hear the lyrics!

The sound was really clear where I was when I saw them. Apart from the stupid bimbo in front of me who insisted on smoking the whole way through and dancing her deranged dance while nearly setting everyone around her on fire, it was really good. You don't know Art Brut Jono? I have heard their album a few times and I knew a few songs quite well but I seemed to be in the middle of the Art Brut fan club at that point, so I felt slightly left out not knowing all the words to every song.

When I saw The Automatic and the Mystery Jets, we were right up the front on the barriers but just in front of the amps, and it sounded all weird and distorted. The Mystery Jets sound effects were just painful. It's better not to be too near the amps.

I AM DEFINATELY GOING TO READING FESTIVAL FOR ALL 3 DAYS - GET IN!!!

And i'm camping there, even though i live like 15 mins away by train. Although that's more down to the fact the the last trains to Newbury are at 11:00pm because First Great Western are crap.

Does anyone know where i can get hold of a cheap tent with 2 "bedrooms"?
