Radio 1 Anthems Scheduling

Sorry it's taken me so long to get round to this, but like John reported the Internet was broken at uni and when I got back home last night I was too tired to do anything other than eat and lie on the sofa, then crawl into bed!

Soooo... Friday night. I was going to make a banner on the train, but I forgot so I quickly did one before we left for the union. You'll see it later, it's a poor effort. Scott came on stage about 12:30. Chatted to the crowd for a bit and then started playing some tunes. Then he looked around the crowd and I saw my chance, so I held up my 'banner' and he strained to see it, then read what it said and smiled and waved at me! Just that made me soooooooo excited!!

I can't remember exactly what Scott played, but there were a few studenty classics like Mr Brightside, he played some Girls Aloud, some classic gay disco (Infernal) and maybe some Christmas songs?

He talked to the crowd a bit more, asked us all to pose for a picture for the Radio 1 website and carried on playing his songs. Then it got to about ten to two and I realised that Scott was probably going to finish playing soon and it would be photo time. I made my way near the stairs to the stage and waited patiently. And waited a bit longer, but it wasn't happening. After a while they started to let people up on stage to have their photo taken with him, so I rushed to the front. There was only one group of girls infront of me, by the time we got up on stage Scott had gone backstage. :cry:

So we waited on stage to see if he was going to come back out. I was actually dancing on stage! :-o I tried to hide behind other people though. So we waited, and there was no sign of Scott. At this point, someone I know who works for the Stage Crew at the union said he wasn't going to come back out, and my friends were on their way to tell me.

But.... I noticed that everyone was at the front of the stage, including the people who worked for the union. So I took my opportunity and snuck backstage! I had no idea where I was going as I've never been back there so I was just wandering around. I saw a sign for 'Dressing Room' and followed that. When I got there, the door was slightly open and I could see Scott so I knocked on the door (I'm polite even when drunk! ) and went in!!

He said "Hi, you're Bexy aren't you?". My reply: "Huh? How do you know that?!" Then I remembered the banner... and he told me that he'd been reading the site so knew I was gonna be there! We had a really nice chat, mainly and Jono and the site, but we talked about other stuff too, like where I was from and how comes I was at Surrey.

When Scott was on stage he was smoking! :shock: I had no idea he smoked, so I told him off about that! :oops: Then we talked for a bit more about other things that I don't really remember. He was drinking wine (surprise, surprise!) so I commented on that too!

Then I told him that I'd better live up to my geek label and asked him to sign my 'banner' and had my picture taken with him. I'd been backstage for a while at this point, so I thought I'd better go before someone found me and I got thrown out of the union. Scott said it was really good to meet me, and gave me kisses on the cheek! Yup! He kissed me!!!

When I came out from backstage one of the girls I was with before asked me if I'd met him... I just pretended I couldn't hear her and walked off. I wasn't gonna let her in on my secret!

Oh, he said to tell you all that he was really good. So... he was really good! Hee hee! Seriously though, it was a brilliant night. He played a really good selection of songs and kept the crowd entertained for a good hour and a half.

It was indeed.

I was planning to make a bigger one using coloured pens and stuff on the train, but I forgot to take stuff with me. So I did that one really quickly before we went out.

He did that when he came to our school, went round the back of the kitchens for a cigarette, then told me and some friends he loved us as we said it to him first as he came back past :-p .
