You know if you'd actually looked, they're 22...

Anyway nah, I like grimmy but I'm boycotting R1 as a whole now. I still download Scotts podcast but apart from that the stations dead to me

I listen to the breakfast show. I like Grimmy and his show, one thing that is better then Moyles is the music mix. Grimmy is light on the ears and relaxed but sometime I lost interest when his gose into corporate mode. Looking forward to see where he take the show next, less corporate plugs and more random feature I got a idea it is called Car Park Catchphrase. ;)

That BBC switch thing that took over from Dance Anthems on Sunday nights a few years ago was also a bag of wank, it's come to a point where it's debatable if anyone listens to Radio 1 anymore after the chart show.

on the grid.

Have listened to 1 whole show, and 2 halves. Whilst I'm aware that Radio 1 wish to appeal to youngsters, I wasn't aware it was to those that still attend primary school.

I don't dislike Grimey [sic], he's ok in small doses, but I'm at a loss as to how he can be expected to carry off 3 and a half hours a day, at breakfast after the reign of Moyles.

His show, and his onair attitude is juvenile. I've noticed his sad attempts at cheap publicity on Twitter (via others, don't follow him), ie. gatecrashing Johnathan Ross's 'top party in town' Halloween event and banning Robbie Williams music from his show. This is just the sort of attention grabbing behaviour that Moyles used to ridicule.

My mornings are a mixture of Radio 4 and Radio 6 Music now, as befits my age. I know my place, and I'm much happier elsewhere.

Personally, I dont think its juvinile, its just aimed at the 15-29 age group, a lot more then Chris Moyles was, hense why he lost so many listeners. Don't get me wrong I liked Chris Moyles, but his talk was in no way suited to youth radio.

He did actually explain the whole halloween fiasco, and I think it got a bit blown out of a proportion. He was told by his invited friend that he was allowed to come, so I dont think he "deiberately gatecrashed" as everyone is insituating. He was just mislead!

But also, with regards to "banning Robbie Williams", that is completely ridiculous. It is not his decision, it is that of the music team and playlist meeting who decide what to playlist for the shows. And they decided Candy was not appropriate for Radio 1. And he did actually play it on Monday, so saying that he personally has banned Robbie Williams is a silly statement.

I'm not trying to convert you to listen to his show, as it really isnt for everyone, but I just think the statements you made about him were pretty outlandish!

I agree with all the above.

I listen to Grimmy and I think he's very good. I still thinks he should edge towards a zoo format a bit more and chat to Fincham, Ian, Fiona & LMC a little more. I also think he's very good when he's discussing the menial things that happen in life e.g. his new dog. The guests largely depend on who they are even if he's trying hard a rubbish guest makes for a boring interview. There also seems to be a tendency to go completely overboard with whatever corporate crap they have to talk about. Teen Awards, James Bond, Twilight...

I love Grimmy to the max and Scott and Matt even more so, but yeah, I haven't listened to R1 properly for a year or so now. . .

OMASM. Radio presenters are like fruit. Matt is my kumquat and Scott is blatantly my orange.

    • Richie Anderson in for Rylan tomorrow.
    • Mylo and Rosie said at the end of their show today that they would also be on Early Breakfast on Thursday 24th July (even though the schedule still says Dean)
    • James is in for Dean from Monday 11th to Thursday 14th August. Dean is in for Greg from Monday 11th to Friday 15th August. Jaguar is in for Sarah on Friday 15th August.
    • Tara Kumar is in for Alyx on Sunday 13th July.
    • Conor Knight & Lauren Layfield are in for Matt & Mollie on Monday 14th July.  Matt is solo on Tuesday 15th July.  Jerry is in for Mollie between Wednesday 16th & Thursday 24th July.  Maia Beth is covering Future Pop on Wednesday 16th & Wednesday 23rd July. On Sunday 27th July the Chillest Show is reduced to an hour, and 20.00-21.00 is a BBC Proms special with JADE. On Thursday 31st July 18.00-20.00 in place of Jack's show it's the Dance Party Warm-Up with Danny Howard (ahead of the Ibiza weekend).
    • Dean McCullough in for Greg w/c 4th August. James Cusack on EB.
    • Well looks like Mollie is off all month now so presumably a personal matter.
    • Intrigued why Matt & Mollie aren't presenting breakfast on Monday, with James in for them instead (which has happened before).. or even James given a chance to present the breakfast show?
    • Sam & Danni seem to be down for Breakfast on Monday. James Cusack on Going Home. That’s another new name in the list of “people who have hosted Going Home in 2025”.
    • Wednesday, surely? But this is another mess, as this weeks Summer press release said it’ll be Sam & Danni no Jamie from the 28th - so it’s actually a whole week earlier!
    • Jamie Laing’s last show before his summer break will be on Wednesday 16th July.
    • I worked out once Scott spent 3 months of a year off his own slot in the Moyles days and more like 4 in Grimmys days, six weeks of his own holiday and projects, six covering Grimmy plus some ad hoc days
    • Back on topic, I think there's quite a few of the current Radio 1 presenters who would be able to adapt to Radio 2's style in the future. It's more of question of how many of them will actually end up there. With much of R2's line up changed over the past couple of years, it's quite possible we won't see much movement there, and R2 management might even decide to look elsewhere to bring in new presenters in future.
    • With OJ covering on bank holidays. She is the best person for the job however... they're going to end up with a situation like Scott covering R1 breakfast back in the day, where she spends quite a bit of time off her own slot covering Breakfast, plus her own holiday and other commitments. She's been filming for something recently which has meant she's been off several days a week since May. She was off last week, on breakfast this week, OJ is on Mon/Tues next week, then She's off the following two weeks.
    • Looking back at this I would say now that Sara is the main cover - I think she has been reestablished as it now
