I'm loving Matt Edmondson's show at the moment, and I was thinking - now with Switch gone I could see Radio 1 altering the Sunday night schedule again. I really dislike Tom Deacon's show on Sundays and I was wondering, wouldnt it be feasible for Tom to be dropped and The Matt Edmondson Show to take Sunday 7-9pm? This would make it into a proper show and increase the audience of one of the stations (IMO) best new talents? Thoughts?

I agree with you though, Tom isn't very funny. He's alright, but I don't think he really gels? Matt would be excellent on that timeslot, and more people would be able to listen. And he would be a good start to the week

Switch hasn't been about for around a year, although they didn't alter the Sunday programming. You'll notice it never says "Switch" anymore in adverts, and The 5:19 Show is just called "Tom Deacon" now.

Tom Deacon's show is insulting to it's target audience of teenagers. Piss poor presenting, topics and music.

Another thing that annoys me, is that he refers to it as the Tom Deacon Show. Rather than just Tom Deacon like every other show (save Chris)

Also, BBC Radio don't like swearing before 9 PM, (not an actual watershed though), so Matt isn't suited to the slot, as his show (which I think is ace) relies on 'black' (more of a light blue) humour.

Matt Edmondson has really grown. I dont listen to Tom Deacon at all but I dont know if Matt Edmondson is suited to what that slot has become recently. He is surely being groomed for a bigger slot,

Im wondering if there will be any schedule changes in the traditional September period or as was always the usual pattern until this last year when they have just been making smaller chnages throughout the year. I cant see any major changes on the horizon unless its in the specialist areas, especially now that Moyles has confirmed his new contract to stay on.

You're making me cry. Ex member off of here, Ines and I used to love that show so much, and spent basically all of our time talking about it.

I used to watch every episode about 5 times every week.

I was utterly in love with Alex. And Stephen. And Cameron. And…

But yeah, Alex was my favourite. I'm just sad that the show wasn't renewed so some Alephen / Stelex sordid gay romance could happen.

On this Matt Edmondson thing, well, I think everyone knows my views on him. HE IS SO FUCKING AMAZING, I LOVE HIM AND I WANT TO HUG HIM MORE THAN FAKE CAT WOMAN WANTS TO HUG CATS IN THEIR BOW TIES LIKE MY EX TEACHER WHO I NEVER HAD HAD THEM AND HE WAS GAY LIKE MATT EDMONDSON IS AWESOMER THAN KATE NASH BECAUSE HE SAYS SO AND HE HAS AWESOME HAIR AND I HAVE A SIGNED AUTOGRAPH FROM HIM AND FUNTY AND GARY AND CHRIS ARE AWESOME AND.

Tom Deacon isn't that funny, but I do like listening to him. He does act a bit too childish though, like some of the features don't fit for teenagers. I reckon Matt should be on weekday daytime.
