New Fearne Cotton minisite

Yes, normally he considers both sides of the argument and is never stubborn.

erm,

i was told there was info on what was going to be on the new show in Gregs blog

Yeah, he puts it on his blog instead.

i couldn't find anything on there in retaliation to the new show, where as Fearne has some info on her minisite.

also;

We only bang on about our dislike of Fearne taking mornings and Edith's afternoon show because it winds you up. Just like we enjoy winding up Viv about Madonna. I dare say we'll be quite vocal about it all at the moment with all these changes but I doubt we'd have mentioned Edith so much if you didn't love her so much ;)

what i have said is small in comparison to what you have all said over the years about Edith's show, also i have said im looking forward to Fearne's show & all everyone else has done is complain about her taking over.

:)

Fearne's minisite isn't technically linked anywhere, is it? Hardly a fair reference. I'm sure Greg's page will mention the new show, when that happens.

I never said info on Greg's new show was on his blog, I was just saying that Greg tends to post information about his stuff on there, in response to your comments about his features. He's been mentioning a few details on Twitter, but keeping most of it under wraps.

Alan's getting on my wick now. Constant unbalanced opinions and downright stupidity at times.

i'm getting a bit :( as Edith's time is drawing close, she may be gone from R1 altogether in a years time

i have never said that i want Greg to fail, actually i have wished him good luck (in one of the other threads) all i have said is that i don't think he is the right person for the job (in the same way you don't think Fearne is) & i have gave my reasons why i don't really like listening to him, i do really hope i like the show because otherwise i won't turn the radio over to another station, it will have to be turned off as there is nothing else out there R2 is no good & the local is rubbish, i don't want a afternoon of silence anymore than you do.

ps; im surprised that my comment about the blog was reacted to in the way it was, i would have thought you could have recognized a sarcastic comment by now.

pps; i like R1 to much to want it to fail & im sure you all feel the same way *group hug*zadiffgrouphug.gif

    • Nothing to apologise about, I was just intrigued on how DS and UM react
    • I would be pretty confident that if they keep avoiding using James Cusack on that slot over the next few weeks, then it will probably be him that gets the show permanently!
    • That’s two names who probably won’t be doing that slot permanently then.
    • Moyles spent most of the 52hr sgow calling him that lol
    • I stand guilty as charged as the DS poster.... It was I Okay, so yes Connor has good energy and does the show well, I take it back, however, my last experience of him he spent every other link saying "It's Connor Coates in for the ledge that is Charlie Hedges" and then he started saying "Clem Douglas" - again after critisising that I see she is styled as that sometimes The point I was trying to make was, yes we know it's Charlies show, we know she is a ledge, and we know she is not here today, no need to keep reminding us Regards R1 dance, I suspect Arielle is pointed at the drivetime slot to go against Mistajam unless we know it is breakfast that will be live ? Apologies to Connor and anyone offended by my comments, was just going on my past experience of Mr Coates, who seems to be a very competnt presenter
    • I know we have discussed this before, but can someone shed some light hoping @Lily Georgia can help Since the Wogan House closure, and 1-330 from Manchester, studio 82A (Mills) has been used by Scott's R2 show, in fact i note that him and Grandad Nelson are from there now days The question I have is with 1-330 coming from London again soon, who is getting a new studio? will Scott move to one of the newer ones down the corridor or will he remain in 82A and M&M get a new studio They cannot use 82D as that is used for drive, and currenlty 82A is in use by Scott from 2-4pm In the old days it used to be 82A for Greg, Scott, Annie and 82D Adele, RMC, Drive, Jack I note that Jack is in a brand new studio so maybe M&M will come from that one as well, maybe the same one as Vine uses?
    • Maia Beth is doing Friday Early Breakfast on 7th & 14th June.
    • Joel Mitchell is in for Nat on Sunday 9th June.
    • Ore Olukoga is on 13.00-16.00 on Friday 31st May and Friday 7th June.  Nikita Kanda is doing Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June.
    • Very pleased for producer Amy - it's no coincidence many of the best shows in recent years have had her working on them. You can tell her & Helena are a great production duo and that the whole Matt & Mollie team are a really close-knit unit in general. Some lovely speeches by both Matt & Mollie too to end the show on Sunday.
    • Echo what most have said here. Connor has great energy which is important for that sort of slot and the shame for him is that the dance line-up is so strong that there's no obvious 'in' for him to get a regular slot -Danny, Sarah, Pete Tong, Arielle, Charlie Hedges, Jerry and Charlie Tee are all great in their slots. A live show on Radio 1 Dance really feels the obvious way to get a proper foot in the door at Radio 1. Although to be fair to the DS critic I think it was just the one poster and can very much hear Connor in my head saying 'in for the legend that is Charlie Hedges'.
    • James Cusack is in for Jack on Friday 14th June, doing the chart while Jack is at Download.
    • I remember hearing Amy first on Scotts show and she was great on that, the daft quiz questions always made me smile. It's really nice to see the hard work has paid off for them all.
    • Actually the worst tends to be those who comment on Radio Today news stories. People who haven’t listened to younger oriented radio stations in years who say things like “who?” about any job going to any presenter aged younger than 50.
