This show is supposed to be all about the music. It's nothing more than listening to your hairdresser. Even the Live Lounge has been dumbed down to the point she appears to know nothing about her guests. It's really sad to listen to - and don't say don't - I have a clock radio and I can't pick up Heart on it so I'm stuck until I hit snooze... A reason to wake up before 10am I guess!

Historically it is, but there's nothing to say this should continue. I much prefer Jo, but I think Fearne has to make the show her own. When she settles down and finds her groove, it should make quite a good listen.

Fearne will be fine. Just fine. Can't keep a good chick down. Once she gets more and more used to these live lounges, and researches.... er... a little more, she'll be just fine. :-)

Interesting to see Fearne putting her TV career before her 'Oh my God I've always wanted to be on Radio 1!!!!1111' one.

Personally don't feel that jetting off to Las Vegas for a weekend to meet Paris Hilton, then turning up totally shafted on Monday morning, as a result, in your second week in the job is particularly professional.

Yet another awkward handover with Moyles too.

Wonder how long it'll take R1 to realise that replacing Whiley with Cotton was a very bad move indeed.

'To disagree with three-fourths of the British public is one of the first requisites of sanity'.

She can handle it. Anyway, that would have been pre-organised.

She's an all-round professional lady with loads to offer.

Give her a chance, people.

We discussed Fearne in our Live Radio class at University today. The consensus from practically everyone in the class is that she's just a TV star who hasn't been able to make the transition to radio because she has no personality, is patronising and tries far too hard, doesn't seem knowledgeable and, in the words of my lecturer, "who the fuck is Fearne Cotton? Even Fearne Cotton doesn't know who Fearne Cotton is."

Heard the last bit of her show today while i was on the train to London town.

Not a massive fan, i don't particularly care about her jetting off to wherever, but i guess it's a new show and if radio 1 want an itv2 style show on in the morning then they can do what they want, they'll soon think again if the next few RAJAR's don't go their way.

Dunno? Another month anyway?? She's just a little tired and upset because she's just travelled across the Atlantic Ocean, and feels she looks a mess today.

Oh I almost swore here. How the hell can you be sympathetic about that? She's a sodding radio presenter.

The specialist DJs do it quite often getting in with just enough time for the shows

You should have sworn (ha ha). It's important to girls to feel nice, even if no-one can see them on the radio.

Female psychology, trust me.

Yes but why the hell should the average listener feel sorry for someone who's job is to present on the radio, if she's just travelled across the world?

Yes, but as I said before, the Paris Hilton stuff was probably pre-arranged some time back. I actually feel sorry for her having to meet Paris Hilton, never mind anything.

It reminds me of all the people picking on Alesha Dixon: someone new has just gone into a job, they're gonna bring new things to it, the Cotton isn't used to the live lounges, etc, etc. - and people just go instantly "nuts".

This aside, I believe Paris Hilton has made the Oxford book of quotations. :hahaha:
