Is it too late?

I think I already know the answer to this! But is it too late to get into Lost?

Not if you get the box sets and watch several episodes a day to catch up with the last series. But I think the excitement of those shows is to watch it with others and then talk with others.

You can get into Lost anytime.

But, just make sure you power through on certain series and don't get put off and end up giving up.

Series 5 (current series) is the most f**ked up yet - I love it though!

Nah, I wouldn't see why not. So long as no one tells you the important bits and spoils it (I won't because I don't know myself). I watched the first episode and half the second when it first started and then I got bored and I've never really tried again. It'll probably take you a while to catch up but it's doable.

The thing with Lost is that you have to stick with it really. Season 2 was rubbish but I kept watching and it's gone much better. You have to remember what's happened previously and wait for the answers to questions.

Of course they always give you more!

For those that can't be bothered to watch the first 4 seasons of lost, it goes something like this.

Aaargh we're on an island!

Aaargh there are monsters

AAarrrgh there are polar bears

aaargh there's a french woman with a gun

Dude! Clam Down Freckles! I was in a wheelchair but now I can walk.

Aaargh the monster's back

Oooh look we found a hatch.....and some more hatches.

They took Walt.

Oooh look they're gonna get rescued, no they're not, yes they are but they have to storm the island first.

Oh they're not gonna get rescued, yes they are, no they're not.

I'm back from the dead........I'm dead again....or am I.

I love you, I Love someone else....now I love you, now I Love someone else.

The monster is back....aaaaaargh. It's not a monster, it's something else.

The island is alive...I've lost my mind.....Big flash...oooh where's it gone?

That takes you up to the start of season 5.

Sometimes here, sometimes not.

Pretty much. I think all seasons are starting to be like that, apart from 5.

Mine neither. I took one look at the woman painting her toenails after a plane crash, and decided right there "Nah, this isn't for me!". I think Scott did exactly the same thing.

Are you comparing yourself to Scott there Viv? ;)

This pretty much sums up why I don't watch it - though I did enjoy the first few episodes.

I like the writers behind a series to have a plan of where it's going, what story they're trying to tell, and how they're going to wrap it up - which the ones behind Lost famously admitted they had no idea about... that's when I gave up on it.

Surely better to have a start, finish and end in mind like the people behind the reworking of Battlestar did (even if it means you can't milk the cash cow for as long)?
