Would have thought so Jono. Can't imagine she'll want that weekend breakfast slot though, considering that the pre-records she's doing at the moment.

Yeah I just realised that. Looks like it will be a bigger reshuffle than first thought.

What's the usual route for weekend breakfast. Someone who has been on early breakfast isn't it? So they'll want someone else for that.

Huh, that sounds familiar, I swear "he" may have said that... ;)

Oh... Figs sake, haha, I am not behind his Twitter! But that post doesn't help my case:

Sad to see Colin go. However with Grimmy on board for nights, it's certainly helping my average age chart precentages on the master plan. 21 minutes ago from web.

Like I've said, I'd love to have started his Twitter though. It's pretty genius. Alas I'm stuck with the fake Mills account :)

jo whiley will go on to get an evening show again?

I love Jo but I can see she's becoming less popular these days and I suspect 6Music with an evening show at Radio 1 may be in the pipeline. I don't think they've managed to adapt her show in the last year or so.

7am chris moyles

10am sara cox

weekends

7am greg james

10am edith bowman

1pm nihal

4pm fearne and reggie

jo whiley will go on to get an evening show again?

Why would you move Greg off weekdays? I think he really suits the station at the moment. Edith wont be going anywhere for a while until they can find someone else to leave.

I think daytime may stay unchanged unfortunatly. I think they will put somebody young on in the evening to to satisfy the media abou DJs getting too old, etc....

EG. The awful person that is Grimmy to take Colins slot. Then they will give weekend breakfast to Sara Cox. Or Put the awful person that is Nihal back on weekend breakfast and Sara Cox 1-4pm on weekends.

Good, I will never have to listen to Grimshaw again and let him ruin my weekend-mornings. I've never listened to Colin - not because i didn't like the show, but because it's an hour later here in Germany and I usually do not listen at that time.

But Colin was a very good presenter. Pity that he won't be doing Edith's show on holidays or so...

But: Replacing Colin with Grimshaw is not much more than a bad joke. Let a real radio personality go and give that show to a private-radio-style presenter...hope that doesn't foreshadow anything else that is coming up...

I think Grimmey does a good job on the weekends. I like listening to him, cheers me up with daft jokes n stuff. You can't really judge on how he will be in Colin's slot as they are different types of presenting. On breakfast they talk more whereas later on they tend to play more music and talk about the music not talking calls & stuff

I wasn't a big fan of Murray when he first started, but over the years I have grown to like him, only catched his evening show a few times (as I listen to other stuff that time of night) but what I did hear was quite good.

I can see him eventually taking over Mayo's show on 5 live when they move up north (as Mayo has said he isn't going). When he has filled in before he has been quite good.

Can not stand Nick Grimshaw but as he is leaving weekend breakfast this will please me as hopefully they will get someone in who is good and maybe I can listen to the show again. I hope they look at someone from outside Radio 1 for this slot maybe take a chance on someone who is on commercial radio at the moment, there are some good presenters out there.

The thing that annoys me is they can't keep someone on Weekend Breakfast for more than five minutes. Lord knows what the ratings are like. Fearne and Reggie, Nihal, Grimmy. It just seems to be a holding ground along with the Lie In.

If Kelly Osbourne is holding out on her return to the Surgery perhaps she's going to take over from Grimmy on Weekend Breakfast ;) Never say never... !

    • I must have missed that yesterday, sorry! Scott did make the same tongue in cheek comment on today's show about Rylan. It's a shame Rylan isn't the go to cover for Scott, I assume his commitments away from R2 prevent that. I enjoyed his last cover stint. Spoony is the go to stand in for the mid afternoon slot (he's covering again week after next while Scott's off getting married).   In that case, I think you're right!
    • Not that last minute. Scott was talking about it on his own show yesterday, saying he and Rylan have a deal where they cover each other's shows but Rylan only covers Scott when he can be bothered!
    • Sorry I should have been clearer, I meant daytime weekday. Weekend shows would count as a 'step up' from overnights for OJ.
    • If we're counting the overnight slot, OJ Borg regularly covers weekend shows.
    • The only weekday R2 DJ who would ever cover a weekend slot?!
    • What I assume is a very last minute change... Scott Mills is in for Rylan today.
    • Radio 1 at Parklife will be presented by Vicky and Nat. Nat is currently listed to present her usual Sunday show on that weekend but I imagine that will change and someone else will be doing it instead. The Radio 1 presenters at Download will be Daniel P Carter, Jack Saunders, Alyx Holcombe and Nels Hylton.
    • Nat in for Dean with Vicky as well that day.
    • So the end of weekend afternoons this week - new show is July 1st.
    • Arielle is in for Greg on Monday 27th May.
    • He’s definitely gotten better and the show has sounded fine this week. I think it been at its best when it’s been Katie and Jamie or Vick and Katie. Vick and Jamie are ok together, but I do think the show sounds better when it’s Vick and Katie and therefore I still don’t really understand the point of the trio.    Jamie is, however, a lot better than Danny Beard!
    • The RAJAR coming on later this year reflecting later summer to autumn will be interesting to how it reflects Matt and Mollie in afternoons to the revised changes on radio 1’s new music slots and the schedule re-shuffling Radio 3 introducing a new slate of programmes. Then, later on this year have speech radio stations having domestic political coverage of the election but also America’s presidential election.
    • I actually caught snippets of today’s show, and I found it much better than the last time I listened. I have made it no secret that I like Jamie on the radio, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Matt & him together last year. People have criticised him for not being relatable, but I have to agree with the comment above that I have always found him a naturally warm person to listen to. Maybe the going home set up was something that needed settling in and things are starting to take shape.  It must have been difficult for him joining an established duo in Vick & Katie to begin with.  Jamie was great on something songs today, fully engaged in the caller and sounded like a real presenter. Maybe he is doing as a lot of us hoped and really learning as he goes, how to do it properly.
    • Agree with this. The anti-Jamie feeling was IMO quite influenced by the negativity around him replacing Jordan, since Jordan was exceptional and also universally loved. When people mention Danny and Jamie in the same sentence about bad hiring decisions I almost choke - Jamie may not be perfect but he's several leagues better than Danny already and has bags of potential. Danny is poor and has shown zero potential...
    • Jamie started 4 March, and the figures only going up to 31 March, so it isn't reliable. But it has shown the numbers have dropped in afternoons compared to last quarter. It looks like it's Capital's gain.
