DJ Moyles to present C4 quiz show

Chris Moyles, seen here in Halloween costume, is one of Radio 1's top DJs

Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles is to host a topical entertainment quiz for Channel 4 - his first own show since Five's Live with Chris Moyles six years ago.

Chris Moyles' Quiz Night will see him compete with three other celebrities, with his own possessions as prizes.

C4 head of entertainment Andrew Newman said Moyles "must be the biggest star in Britain without his own TV show".

"We're very pleased he has decided to change that," he continued at Channel 4's winter season launch in London.

"I'm very excited to be signing for Channel 4, especially as no one else offered me any work," said Moyles, who hosts Radio 1's breakfast show.

The star has also appeared as a guest presenter on E4's Big Brother's Big Mouth since Russell Brand stepped down from the programme in 2007.

There was a great picture he posted before.

It was a fake Radio 1 studio that channel 4 had made, he was filming in it for the advert.

I'm on set filming now. Pretending to do the radio show in a fake studio which looks like our real studio. Proper head mess

Two of Britain's gobbiest celebrities will go head-tohead with rival chat shows next month.

Piers Morgan's Life Stories will continue on Sunday nights on ITV - going up against new Channel 4 show Chris Moyles' Quiz Night, which starts on March 22.

And it already seems there is little love lost between the rival presenters.

Last week, Morgan, 43, upset Moyles by slating Jonathan Ross as "sycophantic" and "not worth the money".

Moyles, 35, stuck up for Wossy, calling Morgan "deluded" and urging him to "buy a one-way ticket to LA".

A source close to Morgan, said he was "very confident" of beating Moyles in the ratings after pulling in 5.1million on Sunday with his first show, featuring an interview with Sharon Osbourne.

But a Channel 4 insider said: "Chris has more than seven million listeners on Radio 1 - and a lot will be tuning in to his TV show."

It's going to be an interesting one I think. One should not assume Moyles will instantly get the viewers because his television work isn't always a strong point. He may have to campaign to win these viewers. Morgan on the other hand isn't overly loved by Britain but his first show has surprisingly pulled in the viewers. I do hope Moyles beats Morgan though.

I bet Moyles gets better ratings, I can also imagine the show will be alot better

It will only happen if Morgan's show loses ratings. Which I dare say it will because people only tuned in to see Sharon Osbourne slag off Danni Minogue and because it was the first show.

Moyles has 7 million viewers. As it stands he would need more than half to tune in to beat Morgan.

It may be that when Moyles comes on there will be a decent alternative for people to tune out. Hopefully this will be the case.

That was the only reason why I tuned in :) . I don't really think I'll ever watch the show again, unless it ever has any good guests. I think the only problem is that its showing on channel 4, which doesn't usually generate as much viewers

i will watch Moyles. i have never watched Morgan & never will as he is one of the most distasteful, obnoxious & untrustworthy human beings ever to live on earth & the sooner something nasty happens to him the better !

For goodness sake, you say such pointless things. Just because someone says something you don't like you don't have to go and say something like that.

Well why be so immature about it? All of your arguments are turning into "I wish something nasty would happen" or "RIP". :|

It's how he was with Dick and Dom as well. Pointless.

As for Moyles, I'd be surprised if his show went above 4 Million, yet I'd be surprised if Morgan's show doesn't lose ratings. I don't like him, at all, but he is a good interviewer and I respect him for that. I think TV needs a talk show that is guest based, unlike Jonathan Ross, Al Murray's Happy Hour etc. Morgan is a good choice for that role. Having said that he's an obnoxious arrogant plank.

I would love Moyles to beat him in the ratings but dont think he will. Morgan will probably bring in something like 4million and Chris 3 Million.

I dont like piers morgan but im going to watch his show again this week as Richard Branson is on it. But i think after this weeks Piers show will loose alot of viewers.
