I have a little Surgery announcement that I would like to share witn you lot before anyone else...

This Sunday will be Kelly's last Surgery for a while. She's taking some time off to go and work on her new entertainment show with her family for Fox in LA.

This therefore means that for the next three months, yours truly (Hellooo!) will be filling in!

My campaign to get you lot all listening and interacting starts now

My first one is a heavy one granted, it's about depression, and how life can get on top of you including a short story about people who've tried to commit suicide but have lived (Sunday 19th Oct). A subject that's very important to me following some of the horrible stories coming from the Bridgend area - but after that I want you lot taking part!

I'm well chuffed, Kelly's coming on the show tomorrow morning to talk about the Switch Live event this Sunday but I'm sure there'll be the odd word about it!

Great news to read! I'll certainly be tuning in to this. I hope that Aled will present more general surgeries though. I don't think the guests always click, and the open surgeries are more enjoyable.

It's a shame things don't seem to be working out for Kelly Osbourne but I personally think her socialite lifestyle has dented her radio career and there seems to be no motivation to make it work.

Moyles needs to get himself a television show. The holiday benefits at Radio 1 are amazing.

I wonder what he means by "you lot taking part". Will there be a survey of some kind, or what? If there is, I'll take part. I'll know what I'm talking about anyhow.

I think it was a reference to the forum users on his site, they all seem quite close on there. I was suprised to see i had a login on there, completely forgot about it lol

Hopefully this will become permanent at the end of the 3 months. Surely Kelly's no-show on Moyles' show this morning should be the final straw for the R1 bosses.

He does the Show a lot better than Kelly anyhow. Aled's a natural... Kelly's just... just...... just.... yeah, just.

I'd be quite happy to see Aled move to his own show- he's got the charisma to carry it off. He doesn't play such a big part of Moyles show any more- they've filled his previous scape-goat/butt of Chris' jokes position with Matt Fincham, so it seems perfect timing!

Well I will post it again as perhaps my dementia has gotten the better of me

All I was saying was that it's a shame Aled is only taking over for 3 months initially, I would prefer to listen to him over Kelly and I'm sure there are many other listeners who feel the same.

Perhaps we should start a "Kelly O Has To Go" petition.

I think it would suit Aled to be more in charge, as, at the moment, he is still left with the awkwardness of dealing with cancelled guests, etc.

I'm delighted that Aled's back in the surgery. He has such a sensitive, understanding manner. He also gives well considered, relevant advice with just the right amount of stories about his personal experience thrown in.

Shall definitely be listening for the next three months.

I think this might be a bit over the top. Aled is already aware of the support he has on UM and with any luck Kelly isn't into reading forums, 'cos there ain't a great deal of praise for her on here I'm afraid.

Incidentally when I popped onto Aled.info today, I noticed you'd been banned. How did this happen? They seem like a pretty pleasant, mild mannered bunch on there.

am i the only one who isn't keen on Aled on the Surgery ?

people have said "he is so sensitive" etc, but i feel that he is just TOO sensitive & some people actually need to be told straight about their problem, he will be ok as a stand in but for the long term i don't think he is right person for it.

Yeah because Kelly O's sensitivity towards bisexual people being "greedy" is really telling them straight and in a helpful manner.

No suprise to be honest. Kelly seemed to be off more weeks than she was on the Radio, in most other jobs you would be given your marching orders for that poor showing! Good luck Aled, and congratulations!
