Scott Mills last night was immense. He came on at about 02:00am, and as he got on the stage he passed me, so I said hi to him and he recognised me which was great! Then after blasting out a few records he raised his glass of wine to me and later on I got a shout-out for all you geeks :). I especially loved the cheesy section of his set, and he really had the crowd going. He played for about 45 minutes but it was so worth the wait. When he finished and was being escorted for the DJ booth I thanked him for the interview and he said it was no problem etc. I think he would have stayed longer but he was being ushered away so quickly. For those on Facebook I'll pop some photos up later, but for the rest on here I'll be putting them in a blog around Sunday time. So thank you Scott for a brilliant night!

what did he play in the cheesy set? i'm intrigued.

He said: "Now for the cheese!", and I remember Love Machine by Girls Aloud...and er, what else was on? Oh God I'll have to go away and have a think.

Sounds awesome Emma. I always seem to forget the previous song as soon as the next song starts, even when I haven't been drinking.

What rocks in my life is that I have been becoming closer friends with someone in my friendship group. She's quite slow to open up but we're getting on really well now. She was round on sunday night playing Mario Kart and chatting, then again last night, then tonight loads of people were around then they left but she stayed on and we were just chatting about life and boy problems and stuff. It's nice because it's different to talking to male friends, she's more understanding in particular of my Strongbow Boy problems as she knows him well. He was round here earlier but I opted not to go into town with him and stayed here instead and I'm glad I did.

*Grace is Editor-in-Chief of her college magazine from June*

Should be a publication free of spelling and grammar errors!

What rocks is that I am in the process of booking a holiday with friends, we've found a great deal for a week in Cyprus, just have to finalise numbers and pay up. Something to look forward to during the shite revision.

    • https://youtu.be/A_Cycjg5_9A?si=NiLTFeiTNWBExFoR   As barmy as Sam Ryder has now gone, as shown in this video. I'd still rather it than that bland Olly Alexander record.
    • I like Scott, and I listen to Rylan's show every week... they do sound great together on Eurovision etc but.. as for a daily show together, I don't think it would work. Rylan would probably have to reign it in a bit which would lose his appeal, otherwise it may become too chaotic, in my opinion. That Saturday slot is perfect for Rylan, his rapport with Sally Traffic and Lottie is great. I suppose it comes down to cost as well and if he would want a daily show?   Radio 2 are clearly happy with Scott's show, and considering he's just won Best Entertainment Show at the ARIA's, I can't see them changing much.
    • A win for Scott which is fantastic after the last few years he's been through!
    • Am I outnumbered for not wanting to work in radio? It feels like there's a lot of geeks that want a job in the industry here.
    • Thought Sam and Danni were robbed of an award.
    • OJ Borg is in for Trevor Nelson on the Rhythm Nation tonight (with Phill Williams on overnight). He's also in for Michael Ball for the next two Sundays (12th and 19th May). Ros Atkins (BBC's Analysis editior) is in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday. Another new name to Radio 2 is Oliver Hides from BBC Radio Wales. He sat in for Owain Wynn Evans yesterday and he's in again this Thursday (9th May) and Bank Holiday Monday (27th) Spoony in for Scott Mills from Tuesday 28th till Friday 31st May.
    • Thought they would make it easier to get to this event. There's been no communication from the council or organisers about travel, even though there's talk of train strikes. Smaller councils have done a better job.
    • They do sound good together, but I'm not sure Rylan will want the extra commitments.
    • I have accepted Chris is unlikely to join Scott's show, and that Chappers has moved on, but I still think he could do with a co-host. The most logical solution, I think, is Rylan. He appears more often on his show than not, and they are great together. Radio 2 could lose Rylan's Saturday show and extend his reach by appearing during the week. I think they'd be great!
    • Tattoo took a while to grow on me. I couldn't see the fuss until weeks after. We have a split household here where the war on Gaza is overshadowing an enjoyment. I'm hoping for a protest of some sort.
    • I've heard that the staging is very impressive.  That and him being "known" might prevent an embarrassing result.  I'm a terrible judge of Eurovision though as Tattoo is still so very meh to me.
    • Feels like after the success of Sam Ryder we are going back to our old ways. Olly Alexander's song is pretty weak. Anyone fancy our chances this year?
    • The more time goes on the more you think if they'd actually put some thought into it it should've been Vick & Katie from the start. A proven pairing and Katie ended up on the show anyway - whereas Katie's even mentioned she was only asked to join after the Jamie announcement And even by Going Home standards on time off, it's quite funny that a few months in we still haven't had a full week of the supposed line-up - and that's with a 4-day week.
