Mock The Week

Beginning of the new series and everyone was on top form, Frankie in particular. Some of his comments were sooooo politically incorrect we gasped in horror, but roared with laughter all the same.

What can I say? I'm afraid boyf and myself appear to have a sick sense of humour.

Funnily enough, it does rather surprise me Mitchell. Would've thought he'd be right up your alley, so to speak. I found him pretty funny this evening, but Russell's my fave.

Preferred Mitchell and Webb afterwards though. Shame the series has ended.

I much prefer M&W. That series has really come into it's own as just something that is fun, endearing and enjoyed by both the actors and the audience.

MTW comes across more like Live At The Apollo because it's just a platform for people like Frankie Boyle and Andy THE UNFUNNIEST HACK TWAT ON THE ENTIRE FUCKING PLANET Parsons (his given birth name, I hear) to reel off their stand-up routine. The only two who seem likeable and genuinely funny outside of their scripts are Hugh and Dara. Boyle just comes off as being "controversial" for the sake of it without really being very funny. It's just lines designed to get an "ooooh, he's so edgy" whilst he gives that stupid fucking smug smile that needs punching right off his face.

Much prefer shows like Would I Lie To You? because Lee Mack is funny and David Mitchell is awesome.

I love MTW, I agree with some of the comments regarding FB though, he can be very funny at times but I think a lot of his material is used over and over.

I love the shock element of his comedy but lately its become unpredictable and some of it I think pushes the boundaries of taste. I'm thinking in particular of a comment on 1 of the shows on Dave this week where he cracked a joke about Richard Hammond struggeling to remember his wedding day, If I remember rightly it wasnt that long after his Top Gear crash either.

Personally I think Russel Howard is the best thing on that show, very very funny guy and he reminds me a little of an old friend. Wish Rhod Gilbert would appear on it more though

Funnily enough I believe the producer is the same guy, unless theres 2 Dan Pattersons

yeah its by the same people who did "who's line is it anyway" but that was more improv comedy than jokes.

im not sure Jono would allow the vids to be posted on here, but FB's most controversial joke is the Princess Diana one, just put 'frankie boyle diana' in to YT

I didnt realise there was more than just the producer that were on both programmes.

I had a look at the YT vid, it was a bit harsh, having said that I id laugh, but then again I do have a pretty dark sense of humour

Talking of his un-pc stuff, anyone else remember the fuss over the gag about a certain part of the queens anatomy being so old it was haunted?
