Harry Potter Countdown

Emma

Recommended Posts

With only 6 (?) days until the film, and the book due to be released two weeks tomorrow, I thought it was about time we had a Harry thread.

So, have you pre-ordered your books and tickets to the cinema?

I'm dressing up as a wizard at work for the film and book :D

Is anyone going at midnight to get their books?

I still haven't ordered my book, I really want to go at midnight, as it's the last chance to do that, but I live too far away. My friend Stacey is out in Manchester at midnight before the release day, and she doesn't want to go at midnight to get it!

I don't know why, but I'm reaaally looking forward to seeing Kreacher, he's great!

I'll be accused of posting an inane reply, but I haven't read any of the books in the series nor seen any of the films, so I can honestly say that there is no cumulative excitement emanating from me in regards the anticipation of the release of this final book.

I prefer the Philip Pullman books myself.

I've had the book on pre-order from Amazon for a few months now. I'm not what you'd call a Harry Potter fanatic but I've read all the books that've come out so far, and like pretty much everyone else in the country I do want to know what happens in the end. Though I'd be a bit disappointed if Harry died tbh.

So save the last dance

For me my love 'cause I

I see you as an angel freshly fallen from the sky...

I was discussing this today, I'd quite like Harry to die, I think he's a bit of an idiot!

I don't know what to do about the book this year.

I don't read them but my son does. Last time I didn't have to buy it because a friend bought it, read it in 24 hrs and sent it to me. It was the adult version but I don't know if that made a difference to my son.

I haven't spoken to that friend for about a year though so I doubt I can just ask her again out the blue :*

They can sod off if they think I'm queueing up at midnight to buy a book. It's a book. They have plenty of copies, there is no reason to go at midnight. Grrrr.

Then again I'm also not buying it till I can get it for a fiver or less, libraries are the way forwards!

There/ They're/ Their. Different words.

I love buying them. I'm gutted, my 'Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets' and my 'Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban' first editions got destroyed.

I read the Michael Moore book Stupid White Men in just under 3 hours. I'm not saying it was puerile, far from it, but that's the quickest I've ever read a book.

Same here, well it took me more than three hours, but not too long.

I've not preordered the book or bought cinema tickets. I'll wait a couple of weeks to see the film and I'll buy the book probably on the day. Last time my sister bought the book for me on the day it came out. No way I'm getting up at midnight to buy it. I've got about £20 in book vouchers which I need to spend.

I am currently re-reading book 6, since I read it only once 2 years ago. It's rather scary. The first few books seem pretty tame now.

I, erm, might have re-watched The Philosopher's Stone for no reason at all this afternoon...

I bought 'The Prisoner of Azkaban' for £5 on DVD at Asda yesterday, actual bargain.
