Today was quite good. I went to see The Simpsons movie today. And, for not being a fan of The Simpsons, i thought it was bloody hilarious.

Before that though, i went shopping with a friend. We had to be back at her house at 12 to pick her little cousin up. Whilst she went upstairs and packed (shes moving house tomorrow) I had to sit with the little boy for two hours, talking about cars. Ask me about spoilers, i'll blow you away with my knowledge. Then we took him to see The Simpsons, he was all excited, bless him.

It's happened. I'm boboboboing sick of them. Nan especially.

I woke up this morning to find that water was being sprayed in my face, courtesy of Grandad. "Come on!" He said, "It's late enough." As he walked off, I checked the time. 9.30! Half past boboboboing nine! That bobobobobobobo. I had to be up at half seven yesterday so that they could be picked up from Antrim airport, and I didn't get to bed until half one, since Grandad wasn't in bed and I couldn't have a fag. So, really, half nine isn't 'late enough'!

Then, Sarah got paid again today and I got a lecture from Nan. "See, if you had a job, you'd have money too." I don't want a job! The fact is, at fifteen years old, there really aren't many jobs that would make me happy. Sarah got lucky; she's working in the vets, which is her dream job. Alright, she's only a glorified bobobobo-shoveller, but she's got loads of contact with animals and she's picking bits and pieces up from the vet in charge. She loves it. Whereas, if I got a job, I'd be working in the shop. Not that fantastic, really.

With her wages, Sarah decided to treat herself to a hair-cut and, of course, I had to go with her. I was assured it'd only take twenty minutes, so I agreed. IT TOOK AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES. I was bored out of my mind. It's not too bad though, 'cause she treated me to a burger for waiting so long. I love my sister.

When we got home, though, things got bad again. Everyone was admiring her hair and I just said "It looks nice, I like it." (which is true, it looks lovely), when Nan decided to lecture me again.

Nan: See, if you'd have had your hair cut, yours could look like that. You'd feel much better about yourself.

Me: I feel fine!

You don't look it. You look a mess. What are you going to do when you go to college?

What about it?

You're just going to look like a slob around all the other people.

So? I'm happy and, at the minute, that's all that really matters.

I still think you should've got your hair done.

ARGH! The sooner she bobobobos off home, the better!

Also, to make things worse, I missed Mock the Week last night.

Kelly, your mum will love you when she pops in to read your posts again ;)

Tomorrow, ive agreed to do a car boot with dad. Yawn. I really really need the money, so im willing to give up my long lie and my dignity for it. I can predict what will happen tomorrow, i'll be there for 7am, and stand for 8 hours hoping a few things sell, meanwhile dad galavants off to find some bargains for 7 of the 8 hours. At the end of the day, i'll get about a tenner, and he'll get the rest. Ugh.

I get a fiver a week, which I know isn't much for the amount I do around here, but (I know this'll sound weird to you lot) my parents give me cigarettes in return for helping around the house all day.

I do too; if I could go back, I wouldn't start, trust me.

Kelly, Mock The Week is repeated tonight at 11:35 on BBC 2 - I only caught the end of it the other night so i'm gonna watch it in full

Thanks, I've got it stuck on to record. :D

I'm on holiday at the moment and it's lush. We went down to the beach at about eight o clock this morning, and despite the sea being stupidly cold and me screaming like there's no tomorrow, it was really relaxing.

Urgh, the guys here are le creepy though.

My brother's decided he wants to come out here so he's flying over on Monday, and we've got more family coming out after that, so apart from today and tomorrow, the next week or so should be really busy.

    • I agree Scott has always been a good standalone presenter, but always better when with someone. When chappers left the radio one show it felt a different show and Chris joining was what it needed and brought new life. for the format of the radio 2 show Scott’s show fits well with the station but again, there’s the huge gap between radio1 and 2 As been said already old radio2 listeners feel it now feels too young with latest changes, yet old radio1 listeners still feel radio 2 feels too old. The inbetween stage demographic of too old for radio 1 but too young for radio 2 is still not catered for radio 2 was left to grow old with its audience for too long and to change things up now feels to try and change a brand image the right thing to do is leave it as it is and cater for that 1.5 demographic which I’m sure the new proposed 00s and 10s station will do if approved. Problem is it’s so overdue that by the time it gets off the ground these listeners are already likely to be lost and the changing image of radio2 likely to lose what it stands for as a brand with the “it’s too young now “  moving to boom and the “ it still sounds old “ crowd not able to move with their favourite presenters like Scott so finding themself on capital a radio 1.5 would have been perfect for Scott and Chris, seems unlikely but this is why I think who branding of bbc radio needs a rethink if these new stations get off ground
    • Bank Holiday Monday Schedule 6am-10am: Arielle Free in for Greg 10am-2pm: Dean & Vicky (No Rickie, Melvin & Charlie) 2pm-6pm: Vick & Jamie (No Katie) 6pm onwards: As normal.
    • Dare I say they've sounded great this past week?  Very much gelling.  Maybe less pressure?  Seem to be having a genuinely good time and not forcing things.
    • I'm in the minority in my workplace, most of them love country music.  Me, the American, does not care for it.  That said, I haven't haaaaaated some of the country adjacent stuff that's been on the R1 playlist.
    • The Eurovision semi finals are on from 8 to 10pm on Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th May with Richie Anderson. That means Sara Cox in on till 8 on those days.  Saturday 11th May is Eurovision 'Super Saturday... 1-3pm Your Ultimate Abba song with Gary Davies  3-6pm Michelle Visage's Eurovision All Stars 6-8pm Eurovision Request Party with Owain Wynn Evans 8pm Eurovision Grand Final with Scott Mills and Rylan Clark
    • It is funny because everyone thought Matt was on the way out, now he's been described as the heir to Mills.
    • Some similar names to Big Weekend.  Sabrina Carpenter, David Guetta, Perrie, Bradley Simpson, Jax Jones, Caity Baser, Benson Boone, Rudimental. David Guetta is a good name.
    • Still Scott for me. I'm not too much into the 70s and 80s radio 2 play but do love the injection of 90s and 00s. Then Radio 2 push for all this country stuff and it not a UK thing, and I frankly don't like it. Scott's show as in features, hit and miss. I like the music police bit, but it feels like someone needs to join him. It's a shame Chappers is so busy with sports, as it feels like it could do with someone like him jumping on to help. Or a new partner. Radio 1, take or leave. Matt and Mollie are OK from what I've heard and share a good connection, but it's the playlist that throws me off. They could bring back Chris Moyles to do that show, but as soon as something like Headie One comes on with that casino keyboard produced crap. It would still be switched off from me.
    • Reading through this thread, I don't feel quite so alone now, in thinking that Scott Mills on R2 is not a good 'fit' (even less so than on R5).  I can't quite explain why this is so - I just know it to be so.
    • Arielle has been on holiday for the last 2 weeks getting married / honeymoon.  It'll be live from this week onwards.
    • CassKidd is in for Sian on Sunday 5th May.
    • The brought to tiers feature was also very good from them. I did wonder which DJ's were going to get picked out of the hat, that could have gone one way or the other and the caller said they were very opinionated lol. Correct decision putting katie in god tier!
    • The extended Dua Lipa track from M&M was very funny. I'm hoping Matt and Mollie and Scott have a good relationship a bit like Greg and Zoe collaborate on-air sometimes.
    • Gary Davies in for Vernon Kay tomorrow (Monday 29th April).
