It's previewing Big Weekend for the end of May by showing previous performances. -
I doubt either of them have ruled themselves 'in' or 'out'. It's not the first time The Sun have made up 'insiders' to create a story. They've been doing the same for the past few months about the next Strictly hosts ever since Tess & Claudia stepped down. Considering the circumstances, and the fact Helen Thomas would not have expected to be finding a new breakfast host only a year in.. it wouldn't surprise me if we're a while off any permanent appointment.

Other than OJ I can’t think of it being anyone else now Sara and Vernon have ruled themselves out. Possibly an outsider like Clara Amfo but unlikely. It could be Dermot O’Leary he has the experience. I don’t think OJ Borg is a bigger enough star to do the Breakfast Show yet. Keeping Gary Davies on is unlikely. So many Amfo or O’Leary, maybe Joel Dommett?

I would image on the may bank holiday monday they will just do the 6am/10am, 10am/2pm, 2pm/6pm timings with the normal dj's being of -
They record panels to broadcast on the day. I can also see that daytime lineup changing closer to the time. -

I can see the lineup changing nearer the time as the programme descriptions haven’t changed -
Monday 4th May - BBC R1's Big Weekend Day 5am/8am R1 Early Breakfast with Dean mcCullough - Extended by 1h 8am/12pm RMC 12pm/4pm Matt & Mollie 4pm/6pm VKJ Interesting that they have decided to only have VKJ on for 2h when Matt & Mollie and RMC are all doing 4h Mon 4th May - Wed 6th May R1 Life Hacks with Lauren & Shanequa 9pm/11pm Normally they do the Life Hacks shows the week of Big Weekend R1 Future Artists & Future Pop reduced to only 1h
