Definitely agree with you Jono. Sara was one of the first people I started listening to on Radio 1, just because I was bored so I decided to try it :D

However, as to Matt, I never really bothered with his show because I have too many podcasts instead :P Although I do hope he gets another show, either on Radio 1 or elsewhere, because from what I have heard he is pretty good.

Less time for her to talk drivel is perfect. Glad she's going back to weekends where she belongs and where I don't have to suffer listening to her.

I was very tempted to reply with something rude and abusive, but I decided against it as that would, of course, be wrong :*. Instead I will just say that I totally disagree with you. Sara Cox is second only to Moyles on R1 in my opinion.

The past three weeks have been superb with Sara in the 10-1 slot. She is brilliant.

Regarding Matt Edmondson, I have to admit that I have changed my mind about him. I even started a thread on here a while back saying I thought he was terrible, but after listening to him a few times he is actually pretty good.

I would get rid of Edith ASAP and replace her with Matt. And give Sara the 10-1 weekday slot.

I have listened to Sara lately... pretty much against my will. Only found the bits where she shut up and played music enjoyable in any way. I've asked so many times what the big deal is with this bint, but seems to me no-one's ever actually even TRIED to answer my question of what's so great about her... must be a reason no-one's tried I figure. I hear people criticise Fearne for some things, but then praising Sara for pretty much the same thing.

I like Sara Cox because I just think she is a naturally talkative person and sometimes she comes out with such random things, but she has an open and bubbly personality which I think works really well on the radio. I can see some people being annoyed that she says pointless things or just rambles on, but this is what I like about her.

Sara is funny, quick witted, tells a good story and has a personality. That do ya?

Also the Sara has lost the zelebrity / partying all night aspect of her on air personality that people disliked when she did Brekkie. A personality that is somewhat, although not as strongly, being displayed by Cotton in her current slot. The party (not sure when, her b.day? or Crimbo?) she had, and made an on-air feature of, is an example.

Matts last Sunday show

So what exactly does that mean? Will he get another slot or will he leave? Because I want him to stay on R1. I never really listened to his show, on Sundays I usually spend the time with my family, but when I listened, he was great.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Hurr.

First PocketTV is taking a break, I don't know what happened to that Holy Moly show, and now this!

When will people realise Matt Edmondson is the greatest presenter of all time? I am ashamed of the BBC. I want Matt back on the radio NOW.

*Thinks of all the happy memories of Matt on the radio.*

OMASM. Radio presenters are like fruit. Matt is my kumquat and Scott is blatantly my orange.

They didn't say he will definitely leave, did they? There's still some hope left...
He will still be with R1 but just as cover, no regular show

Okay. Fingers crossed that Chris Moyles gets stuck in a mine, and Sara falls asleep forever. Edith spontaneously leaves to climb a mountain. Uhm. We'll leave it at that. I didn't make anyone die, see?

Thank God. Now Matt can dedicate more time to being a douchebag on Twitter and not annoying us with his stupid patronising shitty radio voice and wannabe-Simon Amstell persona. F*ck off, twat.

*chokes in HORROR*

You gotta admit he was lovely.

*Just collapsed in a fit of laughter. Listening to the Scott Mill's podcast, talking about 'Dick, the butcher.' I think I may have woken my mum up..*

I entirely disagree, and yes I HAVE listened to her. I find her mundane at best, her stories bore me to tears and all I see personality wise is someone who seeks attention.

    • I see Katie (and Mairead) were out with Jordan tonight.  I don’t listen to the show any longer, I am shocked they are allowed to mention Jordan.
    • At least I do not ask stupid questions…😂
    • I suggest you follow the other DJs too if so, you will learn the hardest working will go further 🤣
    • A simple check on his instagram would answer all your questions , he’s on tour with his wife and the team behind his podcast. I suggest anyone to follow the radio presenters, you will learn a lot about their other jobs and work commitments.
    • Where is Jamie? It felt like he was settling in when Vick wasn’t on but he’s not been on since last Tuesday now. They’ve not even mentioned him, in fact they’ve mentioned Jordan more than they’ve mentioned him in the last two days.
    • Scott's show is on the road next week, live from Malmö in Sweden on Wednesday and Friday, ahead of Eurovision. As he's doing the semi final coverage on the TV on Tuesday and Thursday alongside Rylan, Gary Davies sits in for him on those days.
    • I don't feel there's so much overlap between M&M and Scott's shows. M&M is of a similar calibre to Scott & Chris on R1, with genuine laugh out loud moments and usually a show packed full of real interesting content. Scott's R2 show is IMO a shadow of the stuff he did on R1 (not his fault, he's doing exactly what station management want), with music and content to appeal to a much older audience.
    • To be fair, Scott & Chris would've still been fine on Radio 1. It was mentioned at the time that Scott's move was very much on Radio 2's part rather than Radio 1 wanting to move them on. That's the one problem that Radio 2 has, trying to appeal to such a wide demographic.. it's the perfect listen for many, but equally a turn off for many others. I think they have the balance fairly right.
    • I agree Scott has always been a good standalone presenter, but always better when with someone. When chappers left the radio one show it felt a different show and Chris joining was what it needed and brought new life. for the format of the radio 2 show Scott’s show fits well with the station but again, there’s the huge gap between radio1 and 2 As been said already old radio2 listeners feel it now feels too young with latest changes, yet old radio1 listeners still feel radio 2 feels too old. The inbetween stage demographic of too old for radio 1 but too young for radio 2 is still not catered for radio 2 was left to grow old with its audience for too long and to change things up now feels to try and change a brand image the right thing to do is leave it as it is and cater for that 1.5 demographic which I’m sure the new proposed 00s and 10s station will do if approved. Problem is it’s so overdue that by the time it gets off the ground these listeners are already likely to be lost and the changing image of radio2 likely to lose what it stands for as a brand with the “it’s too young now “  moving to boom and the “ it still sounds old “ crowd not able to move with their favourite presenters like Scott so finding themself on capital a radio 1.5 would have been perfect for Scott and Chris, seems unlikely but this is why I think who branding of bbc radio needs a rethink if these new stations get off ground
    • Bank Holiday Monday Schedule 6am-10am: Arielle Free in for Greg 10am-2pm: Dean & Vicky (No Rickie, Melvin & Charlie) 2pm-6pm: Vick & Jamie (No Katie) 6pm onwards: As normal.
    • Dare I say they've sounded great this past week?  Very much gelling.  Maybe less pressure?  Seem to be having a genuinely good time and not forcing things.
    • I'm in the minority in my workplace, most of them love country music.  Me, the American, does not care for it.  That said, I haven't haaaaaated some of the country adjacent stuff that's been on the R1 playlist.
    • The Eurovision semi finals are on from 8 to 10pm on Tuesday 7th and Thursday 9th May with Richie Anderson. That means Sara Cox in on till 8 on those days.  Saturday 11th May is Eurovision 'Super Saturday... 1-3pm Your Ultimate Abba song with Gary Davies  3-6pm Michelle Visage's Eurovision All Stars 6-8pm Eurovision Request Party with Owain Wynn Evans 8pm Eurovision Grand Final with Scott Mills and Rylan Clark
    • It is funny because everyone thought Matt was on the way out, now he's been described as the heir to Mills.
