Sorry, MISTER LONG LEGGED CLEGGY WEGGY!

This is my favourite post in this entire thread.

With Cameron as leader, the Tories got 2 million more votes than Labour and more seats. If he becomes PM I don't see how you can say he'd be unelected.

Because he isn't! If he was elected he'd have a majority. He doesn't therefore technically isn't elected.

There/ They're/ Their. Different words.

apparently Brown is going to announce he is to quit

That's going to be the only way Labour can possibly move forward I think, still wouldn't want to be Nick Clegg... (sorry, MR LONG LEGGED CLEGGY WEGGY), right now, but it would make working with the Labour party slightly more likely... really still more likely to go the Tory way, and still damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

Professional eater of puppy dogs, baby heads and killer of grannies...

i would hate to be nick clegg in all this !!

well Labour will offer more to him & the Tories know this, so they know they will have to sweeten their deal a bit more, it's not Nick's fault either he knows the next government has to be stable for a number of years at least because if another election is called within 18 odd months or so the Lib-Dem vote will be decimated & could well never recover.

i'm ok with Nick taking his time, as he absolutely has to get it right, he has no second chance & its make or break for the Lib-Dems, however they MUST get some sort of PR in place before the next election, although the PR ball has gained a lot of momentum & there is enough support to sustain it for a while, it may run-out of steam but it will never truly go away.

i still think that Nick & the Lib-Dems will come out better in the long-term if they side with the Tories & the coalition is a success, than if they join Labour.

kind of a shame about brown, i personally didn't think he was as bad as the tory media made him out to be. but if he has to go to convince the lib dems and keep the conservatives out, then i'm for it.

on the grid.

Sky News and Boulton are so right wing that it's not really surprising. Alistair Campbell is a master of mind games and patronising people and Boulton fell for it. Shame he didn't punch him though...

Yeh Sky News are right wing yack yack. But why doesn't Ofcom or some news regulator if there is any do something?

Because we have a free press, the BBC has to be neutral but commercial TV/Radio stations can be as biased as they like, except they have to give all the major parties equal coverage in an election period.

I think before 9pm we'll have an announcement about whether the Tories will go with Lib Dems or go it alone. Either way we will wake up to David Cameron as PM tomorrow.

I think it's the best way for Labour to go - leave the Lib Dems alone and focus on restoring faith in their party. And in the meantime, the Tories can stuff up.

According to 5live it'll be announced pretty soon and Tory/Lib coalition is a done deal. Could be announced during Scott's show.

yes but they'll probably have 5 years at it. long enough to put the working class on the streets so the rich stock brokers can drive by and laugh. fnar,

    • On July 8th Greg will surpass Grimmy's tenure on Radio 1 breakfast (5 years, 319 days) as the second-longest breakfast show presenter. He has already passed Tony Blackburn and Sim Mayo. I'm not sure if he will make Moyles' record of 8 years, 253 days, but he certainly still seems fresh and full of ideas!
    • I guess we'll have to wait and see when the new schedule kicks in, although I could see Scott staying where he is.  Assuming that's the case and there are no other moves, there would be several available studios for Matt & Mollie - 82C or 82E of the 'old' studios, and 82M or 82N of the new ones.
    • The BBC commissioning brief mentions it is a 'mid morning show' for Radio 1 Dance https://www.bbc.co.uk/commissioning/radio/documents/comm_brief_r1_dance_morning_show.pdf
    • Nothing to apologise about, I was just intrigued on how DS and UM react
    • I would be pretty confident that if they keep avoiding using James Cusack on that slot over the next few weeks, then it will probably be him that gets the show permanently!
    • That’s two names who probably won’t be doing that slot permanently then.
    • Moyles spent most of the 52hr sgow calling him that lol
    • I stand guilty as charged as the DS poster.... It was I Okay, so yes Connor has good energy and does the show well, I take it back, however, my last experience of him he spent every other link saying "It's Connor Coates in for the ledge that is Charlie Hedges" and then he started saying "Clem Douglas" - again after critisising that I see she is styled as that sometimes The point I was trying to make was, yes we know it's Charlies show, we know she is a ledge, and we know she is not here today, no need to keep reminding us Regards R1 dance, I suspect Arielle is pointed at the drivetime slot to go against Mistajam unless we know it is breakfast that will be live ? Apologies to Connor and anyone offended by my comments, was just going on my past experience of Mr Coates, who seems to be a very competnt presenter
    • I know we have discussed this before, but can someone shed some light hoping @Lily Georgia can help Since the Wogan House closure, and 1-330 from Manchester, studio 82A (Mills) has been used by Scott's R2 show, in fact i note that him and Grandad Nelson are from there now days The question I have is with 1-330 coming from London again soon, who is getting a new studio? will Scott move to one of the newer ones down the corridor or will he remain in 82A and M&M get a new studio They cannot use 82D as that is used for drive, and currenlty 82A is in use by Scott from 2-4pm In the old days it used to be 82A for Greg, Scott, Annie and 82D Adele, RMC, Drive, Jack I note that Jack is in a brand new studio so maybe M&M will come from that one as well, maybe the same one as Vine uses?
    • Maia Beth is doing Friday Early Breakfast on 7th & 14th June.
    • Joel Mitchell is in for Nat on Sunday 9th June.
    • Ore Olukoga is on 13.00-16.00 on Friday 31st May and Friday 7th June.  Nikita Kanda is doing Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June.
    • Very pleased for producer Amy - it's no coincidence many of the best shows in recent years have had her working on them. You can tell her & Helena are a great production duo and that the whole Matt & Mollie team are a really close-knit unit in general. Some lovely speeches by both Matt & Mollie too to end the show on Sunday.
    • Echo what most have said here. Connor has great energy which is important for that sort of slot and the shame for him is that the dance line-up is so strong that there's no obvious 'in' for him to get a regular slot -Danny, Sarah, Pete Tong, Arielle, Charlie Hedges, Jerry and Charlie Tee are all great in their slots. A live show on Radio 1 Dance really feels the obvious way to get a proper foot in the door at Radio 1. Although to be fair to the DS critic I think it was just the one poster and can very much hear Connor in my head saying 'in for the legend that is Charlie Hedges'.
