The TV Presenter Kristian Digby has died aged 32. He was best know for his TV show To Buy Or Not To Buy.

I am shocked. He had a lot of talent and was very good on screen. A big character

The "talented" host of daytime property shows including To Buy or Not to Buy died at his home in east London, police said.

Ambulance crews were unable to revive the 32-year-old when they arrived at the flat in Newnham at 7.45am.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Police were called to reports of a body of a man in his 30s found at an address in Richford Road, E15.

"Ambulance services attended and life was pronounced extinct. Next of kin were informed and we await formal identification.

"There will be a post-mortem at 12 noon at East Ham mortuary."

Newham CID are investigating the "unexplained" circumstances, a police source added.

The presenter, who was born in Devon to a family of property developers, started his television career hosting Nightlife for ITV.

In 2001, Mr Digby, who was homosexual, presented That Gay Show on BBC Choice.

He went on to front several popular BBC shows, including Double Agents, Living in the Sun, House Swap and Buy it, Sell It, Bank It.

A BBC spokesman said: "Kristian was a much-loved and talented presenter for BBC Daytime. He brought a real sense of energy and warmth to all the shows he presented for us and will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time."

Mr Digby was also a director whose short film, Last Train to Demise, won the Melbourne Film Festival Best Student Film in 1998. Words of Deception won him a junior Bafta in 1997.

His agent and friend Jo Wander said: "I am devastated by the loss. He was a lovely guy and a very talented presenter and director. I will miss him hugely and my thoughts at this time are with his family and his many friends. He will be sorely missed."

Tributes to the television presenter poured in on social networking websites.

Pat Tensell, a librarian, wrote on Twitter: “Shocked by news of Kristian Digby's death. We shook hands last Monday at event in Worcester. He was lovely and a great keynote speaker.â€

Ben Pitchers wrote: “Can't believe Kristian Digby has died. Why does everyone keep dying young? He was a fantastic gay role model and talented broadcaster. RIP.â€

Horrible. I had a very soft spot for him, and I'm very sad that he's gone. :(

It is sad news...

Just incase people don't know who he is... there is a very good video on You Tube compiled and it fully shows this mans presenting abilities.

Hope not. The forums are rife with speculation. Murder, drugs, manslaughter. The usual situation when someone dies. Lets at least hope this was just natural causes.

On a side note, a few years ago on here we were doing a look-a-likes thing. Which celebrities do forum members look like...?

Neil (Geezer) compared Kristian to me..... To this day I still don't see it!

never heard of him to be honest, but shame he seemed to be pretty talented & have a good future in-front of him.

keeps a eye on Jan Moir :doubt:

I will... as long as it's through some crosshairs...

No idea who this guy was, but that IS a very young age...

Professional eater of puppy dogs, baby heads and killer of grannies...

I was shocked when I switched the news on this morning and heard that he had died. RIP Kristian. I hope that the vultures treat him with more respect than they treated Stephen Gately, although knowing the Daily Mail et al, they'll blame this on his sexuality.

Actually I think Neil may have a point there...

And I don't really have any celebrity lookalikes to be honest, nobody's ever told me I look like anyone famous anyway. Although maybe if I put on a wig I could pass for Uma Thurman as Mia in Pulp Fiction.

So save the last dance

Perhaps not now seeing as Kristian is 6ft under, the original photo I thought looked similar to you John was this one posted back in the good ol' days in the ROM section.

Pahahaha. :P What's with all the blurriness in the background? And it was from this lovely thread btw.

I don't think I ever partook in Rate Our Member. Probably just as well anyway given my horrible ugliness...

    • Well looks like Mollie is off all month now so presumably a personal matter.
    • Intrigued why Matt & Mollie aren't presenting breakfast on Monday, with James in for them instead (which has happened before).. or even James given a chance to present the breakfast show?
    • Sam & Danni seem to be down for Breakfast on Monday. James Cusack on Going Home. That’s another new name in the list of “people who have hosted Going Home in 2025”.
    • Wednesday, surely? But this is another mess, as this weeks Summer press release said it’ll be Sam & Danni no Jamie from the 28th - so it’s actually a whole week earlier!
    • Jamie Laing’s last show before his summer break will be on Wednesday 16th July.
    • I worked out once Scott spent 3 months of a year off his own slot in the Moyles days and more like 4 in Grimmys days, six weeks of his own holiday and projects, six covering Grimmy plus some ad hoc days
    • Back on topic, I think there's quite a few of the current Radio 1 presenters who would be able to adapt to Radio 2's style in the future. It's more of question of how many of them will actually end up there. With much of R2's line up changed over the past couple of years, it's quite possible we won't see much movement there, and R2 management might even decide to look elsewhere to bring in new presenters in future.
    • With OJ covering on bank holidays. She is the best person for the job however... they're going to end up with a situation like Scott covering R1 breakfast back in the day, where she spends quite a bit of time off her own slot covering Breakfast, plus her own holiday and other commitments. She's been filming for something recently which has meant she's been off several days a week since May. She was off last week, on breakfast this week, OJ is on Mon/Tues next week, then She's off the following two weeks.
    • Looking back at this I would say now that Sara is the main cover - I think she has been reestablished as it now
    • Purley on the R1 Dance station.. Someone on DS said don't expect to see any changes to the schedule on the new stations however if they are taking on Capital Dance with this, which they clearly are, which has live presenters 7am - 10pm except for the 11am mix then they'll surely have to have a proper scheduled set of shows. At the moment Arielle is the only "live" per say show and only "live" a few days a week with earlier shows being repeated Thursday Friday and Saturday. Connor and Charlie are clearly pre records but was this only for the time it was online only and they have already got a schedule ready to go on day 1? also of note is that Charlie is taking over a podcast as well as starting a new project with podcasting which makes me wonder if she is about to step back from Dance Anthems all together to concentrate on those and Connor takes over? So you could have Arielle doing 9-12 weekdays live then someone else 12-3 and Connor live 3-6 on R1D and doing Dance Anthems on a Saturday.
    • As none of the Going Home Team aren't currently on the air, that's a bit if an issue. Considering most of the Dance DJs will be out there, I'm surprised none of them are being utilised to host the 1-4 slot that weekend.
    • Going Home presenters have done the last few years ?
    • Nat and Vicky are being sent to Ibiza this year. They’ll be live on Friday 1st August from 1-4pm.
    • Since Radio 1 Dance and Anthems have been allowed to broadcast on DAB, do we think they’ll be a proper schedule of shows like on Radio 1 Dance with the morning show and Dance Anthems at drive time. Maybe Lauren Redfern, Tyler Selby, Chrissy Cameron or Matt Hallsworth will be scheduled on named shows like Hits Radio 00s or Capital Anthems rather than the generic ‘Radio 1 Anthems’ show. Obviously it would probably cost more to produce actual shows on the station however.
    • There's been a lot of positive reaction to the Mylo and Rosie news so am interested now to hear what their shows are like. And yep wouldn't be surprised if they stay on beyond July as cover ever so often. And that Friday-Sunday news was hidden in the small print a little. It presumably means we lose Party Anthems all that month as that is what has happened this year with Big Weekend, Glasto for example. I certainly I hope it isn't Party Anthems being quietly axed full stop - it and Future Pop are 2 real hidden gems on Radio 1.
